Old School Sales Tactics
Terrible time with the Fiat sales team at this dealership. It was like visiting a museum of what sleazy car dealer sales tactics were like in the olden days. I haggled with the salesperson for a long time, who kept leaving to leave to check with the finance department and the invisible manager. When we finally seem to be close to a deal, the salesperson left one more time, for final confirmation from the sales manager. Sure enough, the sales manager finally reveals himself, explaining that the prices they had been offering were mistakes. The real price would be significantly more than had just been provided in writing 5 minutes before. The manager then restarts the whole sales pitch from the beginning about how the dealer would not be making any money on the car, etc. What really offended me was the manager totally contradicting everything his extremely knowledgeable salesperson had been telling me for the past hour. I left the dealership, and will not return.
Go to another dealership if you are looking for a Fiat!
STAY AWAY FROM THESE [non-permissible content removed]! I don't even know where to begin. I bought a Fiat 500 from these folks a couple of years ago. At that time my experience was pleasant. I came in with a pre-approval from my Credit union and the process was quite smooth. I have found the Fiat operation at Fiat of Los Angeles, in the 2 years I have owned my car, to be hip, modern and frankly kind of swanky. No high pressure sales or sleazy tactics......that is until I decided to upgrade to a newer model a few days ago. Same deal exactly......I walked in with a Pre- approved loan from my credit union and immediately informed the sales man Rodrigo that I was pre-approved for x amount and wanted to see what they had in their pre-owned inventory. Rodrigo was nice enough. Not sure about his grasp of the English language (Brazilian) but he seemed to understand what I told him and he showed me a few cars. I picked a sweet 2014 model that was well within my price range and we started to negotiate. In comes Mitch. Mitch the old school sweater vest wearing, bad breath, smooth talking [non-permissible content removed] of a Sales manager. I reiterated to him that I had a pre approved, low rate loan from my credit union. He proceeded to pull out the smoke and mirrors "let me see if I can do better than that [non-permissible content removed]. After 2 hours or so of going back and forth he presented me with an offer for financing that was supposedly the best he could do. When I contacted my Credit Union to process the loan it turned out that it was being financed by another company at a much higher rate for a longer term that the credit union had offered. They flatly refused to do anything to rectify the situation and Mitch and the finance manager, Estrella Rocha (she had processed my previous purchase and claimed to remember me) lied to the general manager about the situation. TOTALLY SLEAZY BEHAVIOR and a really [non-permissible content removed] way to treat a loyal customer. I would recommend staying very far away from this dealership. If I could return the car I would.
Bait and switch. Beware
It took all day but I did buy a new car from these folks today. Went in the morning and around lunchtime I walked out to checkin with my office and because they weren't meeting the price I could get at another dealer (30 miles away). They called me at work and said they were going to meet the price so I came back and then they went all through how they shouldn't but are going to match the other dealers promotion. A few more hours of waiting and then we close the deal. So, this parts my fault I signed the contract and they didn't include the rebate we agreed upon. Will update review after I confront Art, the salesperson and his manager Antonio Castillo (who made the deal with me). It's pure bait and switch, after exhausting me all day it slipped by me and I signed the contract. My new car is excellent but watch your back around these people!
Best Car Buying Experience
I purchased a new FIAT 500L last week. I went to so many dealers to buy a new vehicle but they seemed busy and no one bothered to even talk to me. I just looked around and on the way from work to home, I was passing by this dealer and decided to go in to take a look at the new Fiat 500L. Rodrigo came up to me and asked me what i was looking for and he answered all my question with smile and even explained the features of the car. I was impressed with vehicle so I called him the next day to revisit the dealer. When I came, the vehicle I wanted was ready and he wanted me to take a look at it. We sat down and he gave me the price and he was really trying to work with me. He got me a price which i was very satisfied with and everything was done so smooth. Now I drive the new FIAT 500L and so happy with the purchase and I almost went for the new corolla.... I am so happy nobody talked to me at the toyota dealer and I met Rodrigo. Great Guy and honest guy. My sister is returning her leased Benz in March and she's going for a FIAT 500L too.
