Great Experience (first time car buyer)

Mike Acosta helped me find exactly what I was looking for. He was not pushy and was very helpful. He explained everything thoroughly and was very accommodating. The place was totally clean and the sales people were all cool. When we got into the finance office (final step), I kind of got nervous but the guy was super straightforward, honest, and respectful. Totally pain free; fantastic all around experience. And, the car is totally awesome. I got a 2018 Accord LX (super basic model) but it's totally luxurious. I'm especially loving the Brake Hold feature in the stop-and-go traffic of LA. Also, spacious enough to fit three kids' booster seats in the back.

Purchased my Accord here and had the best possible Sales Service. The team was great and extremely patient. Thought I would say the same about the Service Dept. Airport Marina Honda $64.95 + Tax for one(1) Oil Change Culver City Honda $109.95 + Tax for (3) Oil Changes Same exact service, why pay Double Spoke to Lars the Service Rep and even though they have a coupon to apply. Didn't offer to at least apply code to retain a customer with 3 Honda Vehicles that would be long term business.

See my Yelp review for a picture of the coupon. My wife who had never been to this dealership prior to today came in to use a coupon for an oil change. The coupon says "First Time Visiter Special!" for $19.95 The fine print says nothing about a requirement that the "car" must be a "First time Visiter" or "New" to the dealership. Service Advisor: Jorge Huazo, did not at first come out and clearly say he would not use the coupon. He attempted to skirt the issue by suggesting a service package priced at $80. When it was restated that only a oil change was wanted he said it would cost $35 for just an oil change. Thus began the dispute about the coupon wording. He said the coupon would not work because the car had been at this dealership before. Of course it has, it was bought there. Jorge Huazo said he would need to ask his boss, You would expect him to go get someone or at least call someone. Yet he began texting, he must have typed out quite the message because he was texting for a good while. Several minutes passed and nothing, bringing the total wait time up to around 10 minutes with us getting nowhere. Now he asked us to leave the service area so he could help other customers. Before leaving I asked if there was anyone onsite that we could ask so we could get this settled asap, he basically said there was no one working who could weigh in on the issue. I find it hard to believe that a dealership of this size has no one on site that make a call on a $15 decision, and if that truly was the case that is sad. I asked Jorge Huazo what the "Visiter" in "First Time Visiter Special!" meant, was "Visiter" referring to a person or a car? I do not recall him answering. I then asked him if he really felt we were attempting to do something wrong? He commented that he was only trying to do what was "fair". I pointed out that over $15 he was completely turning us off as customers, making us never want to comeback. He again said he just wanted everything to be "fair". I ask, what would happen if someone who had never been to the dealership bought a car that had been serviced there before. Would they be considered a "First Time Visiter" and qualify for a "First Time Visiter Special!"? Or would the car be classified as a "Visiter" and therefore void the coupon is question? Again no real answer to my question. At this point he, in what I took as a attempted threat, said that he would run the title of car and whoever's name came up, their name would be used for the servicing. He said "so we will see, if its as you said. If you did sell the car, and your wife's name is on the car, or if the car is in your name". I never said I sold the car, let alone to my own wife. I asked the above question- "what would happen if someone who had never been to the dealership bought a car that had been serviced there before. Would they be considered a "First Time Visiter" and qualify for a "First Time Visiter Special!"? Or would the car be classified as a "Visiter" and therefore void the coupon is question?" -I did not say the car was sold to my wife from me LOL. Nevertheless I asked if only the title holder could bring the car in for service or not? If not then why say your going to run the title of the car and see who's name its in? If so, then what about people with leased cars, the title is not theirs, they do not own the car. Can they be serviced? In my opinion the issue boiled down to two basic things: 1- Does "Visiter" refer to a human or a automobile? I vote human. 2- Say "Visiter" was intended to indicate a automobile, was this situation over $15 really handled in a way that was good for the dealership in the long run? I don't think it was. In the end it came back via text that the coupon was ok'd. There was no explanation of if we had correctly interpreted the coupon or if we were being give a courtesy pass. Despite saying "Express service in 1 hour or less", we were told it would be 2 hours. I inquired why it would be so long, I was told it was not a "normal" day and that several people were ahead of me. I'm not positive but I think some customers came in after us, but had their jobs queued up before ours because of the long struggle with Jorge Huazo. I asked if he would check if this was so, this concept seemed to be hard for him to grasp. He simply restated other people where ahead of us and it wouldn't be "fair" if our job went before theirs. I was not asking to cut in line so to speak, rather only to see if the jobs queued up were truly in order of arrival, appointments aside. Letting that go I asked why it would say "1 hour or less"? We were looking at waiting double the longest stated time of "1 hour" plus the 15-20 minuets waiting to get the coupon settled. Again with "fair" he says it would "unfair" to others and we would have to wait. We arrived around 2:10pm, at 4:39pm we were informed our car was ready. Signed - Unhappy Customer

Ease of buying a car

The best team is here at Airport Marina Honda. This is my third time to LEASE a car from Airport Marina Honda, so I am a loyal customer. This past weekend, I brought my car in for an oil change ( oil lamp went ON) was assigned to Lars Gjerde who is a new employee here, but has worked for Honda for 39 years! Lars is very friendly, personable and professional. He quickly showed me what was going to be done, and I agreed to the amount and chose to wait. Ask for Lars Gjerde for your next service! I should add, I called and made an appointment, but showed up 30 mins prior to my TIME, but I was accommodated me immediately. During the oil change, I met Brian Twoomey, the manager and told him I would be coming in soon to look at the new 2015 Accords.I simply wanted to swap my 2012 for the 2015 with the same upgrades, for the same monthly payment. I called Brian within a few days and told him I would be coming in later that evening. Brian stayed late to meet me and had an Accord for me to test drive immediately. I only gave Brian a 2 hour notice! I met Mike Acosta who took care of me by showing me all the new features of the 2015 and the differences from 3 years ago, during my test drive. The finances were quickly done, and I am paying around the same monthly payments. They didn't have the Accord EX-L on the lot, so I was able to customize what I wanted. Brian Twoomey researched and found my car within minutes. Mike Acosta drove to a nearby dealer and brought my car, had it washed. What service! I didn't have to come back later in the week. I came in with my old 2012 and drove out with a brand new Accord! Meanwhile, I saw Alvin Benjamin, who helped me 3 years ago! He remembered me! I waved to him, as he was helping another customer. Overall, I truly feel like I am very special here with such VIP treatment. It is such a rarity when one is treated with such kindness by the entire staff. I do not understand the 1 star reviews. We came a week or so after test driving at another Honda Dealership feeling apprehensive as the experience obviously did not result in a purchase. Airport Marina gave us Mike A. who treated us like old friends! His knowledge was stellar, his approach friendly and non-threatening. We had done our research with a car in mind and Mike allowed us to take our time with test driving pointing out interesting nuances and details about the car. He clearly and concisely explained each payment option available to us. He was easy going and personable making us feel 100% confident in our decisions. This is the first time we've bought a car from a dealership and the experience could not have been better! Walked into this car dealership with a car in mind, did my research on what other dealerships wanted for the 2013 honda civic and to my surprise... Mike A. from the Airport Marina Honda car dealership surpassed my expectations! He was very professional, not overbearing but very helpful. Mike is direct, fair and an overall great salesperson. At each step along the way -- from the first test drive on Saturday to the final purchase of the car Tuesday afternoon -- Airport Marina Honda's customer service representative Juan has been thoroughly professional and accommodating with us. He and his sales manager Eric have gone that extra mile to get us the car we want at a price that other dealers I spoke with could not match. The car we just bought replaces a Honda Accord with 315,000 miles that I drove for 17 years. Thanks to the sales and service team at Airport Marina Honda it sure looks like I'm off to a great start with another great car.

Yesterday I purchased a 2013 Honda Fit from Airport Marina Honda...The experience was enjoyable and surprising in every aspect. In the past, purchasing a vehicle was a much dreaded and time consuming experience (but not this one)! My journey began when I brought my car in for an express oil change. Service Advisor -Eric J., was courteous (per usual), professional and helpful guiding me through the bad news that my car would (once again) need extensive maintenance. Previous conversations regarding the car's age vs $ spent on repairs Mr. J. concurred that an appraisal for for vehicle trade was feasible. Sales Consultant-Rod G. and Sales Manager-Karlan D. were straight forward and honest with terms, conditions, trade-in value the whole procedure was flawless.. I was concerned regarding my past experiences with other dealerships with haggling, 2nd hand approvals which equals hours of wasted time----(This did not happen!).. As promised the process was prompt and transparent--(No games!...:-D....They even threw in a free licence plate holder!....So if there is anyone out there in need of an A+ experience while purchasing a car go to Airport Marina and talk to the "A Team"- Karlan Dey, Rod Gomes and Eric J. for exceptional customer service! Our sales person was Mike A., we really liked him. He was very professional and polite. He was so patient with us and answered all our questions. He cared about our needs not just selling car to us.I very much recommend him. The sale mgr Moe R. was very professional. He spent enough time to explain the procedure and helped us though filling out paper work. They both cared about our need rather than just selling a car and getting rid of us.
