328i BMW Throttle body was stuck and the car malfactioned

I was parked parallel to my house and made a right to my parking to reverse and go downhill. I put my foot on the brakes to change the shift to reverse. As soon as I put my foot on the gas pedal to drive to the reverse very gently the car went at an unusual speed and I ended up on the hill of the neighbor's house across the street. I put my feet on the brakes to stop it from entering the neighbor's house and instead of sliding down the hill, the car flew and landed in the middle of the street. I tried to change the gear to drive or reverse, it was stuck. I called Triple A and had my car towed to Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas, California. They refused to give me a loaner until I called BMW headquarters. Three weeks later, BMW headquarters called and informed me the vehicle was in perfect shape and there was nothing wrong with the transmission or the throttle body and they did not take any responsibility. They asked me to pick up the car which was completely totaled. The muffler was in the trunk, the body was damaged and the car was not driveable. I do not recommend this car or this dealership to anyone. Buyer Beware.

My low review is for my Service Advisor Paul Sanhaphakdi. I've had multiple BMW's from Bob Smith since 2011. I've always had awesome service advisors. I noticed that the entire dealership has changed since I was last there in 2016 (pretty much all new people than what I remember in past). I was at the end of my lease and I brought my car in for the total image service. I informed my advisor that I was trying to coordinate the completion of my service with the return of my car lease inspection- this was the most important thing to me (I've since moved further out to Moorpark and didn't want to drive back and forth). Needless to say there were a couple of texts with no response from this guy (I had originally asked him to give me 24 hours notice of when car would be finished). I followed up on a previous no response text and he text me that car was done right then That was totally unacceptable with my original request. I had a loaner at the time and he also informed me that I had to return the loaner now, in a tone that's unacceptable. At that point I lost it and we had a shouting match. I immediately drove to pick my car up. During last year I've had service at Rusnak, in TO, and my advisor was great and totally the opposite of this guy. With this last service call I'm grateful that I've upgraded to Maserati and no longer have to deal with the new BOB Smith Dealership.

I had an unacceptable experience with trying to get my car serviced AT ANOTHER BMW dealership so I went to Bob Smith BMW. Not only was the quality of the service people (shout out to Christina who was awesome) much better, they took my car in quickly, got me a loaner, and the overall experience made me feel like the money paid for the car was well worth the post sale experience. BMW corporate should be proud!

My husband and I bought a pre-owned BMW this month from Bob Smith. We noticed a couple minor dings in the doors before the purchase and the service department took care of them for us. We had the pleasure of working with Ruby on this matter. Ruby was very professional and went above and beyond for us. As I brought the car in for service, I located one of the small dents and I had trouble finding the one on the other door. I told Ruby that I couldn't find the second dent and not to worry about getting that one fixed. Ruby took the time to closely inspect the other door and she circled the dent for me. I really appreciated that. Not only was Ruby very professional but she was friendly and had a sincere personality. I highly recommend the Bob Smith MINI service department.

Crooked Service

I've spent a lot of money on service here for my BMW and every time I've come in for service I know they are trying to goug me and frankly I'm fed up with it. In the past I've had a good experience with Paul but not this time. I had my rear pads and break fluid flush done back in Dec. 2017 since, my rear pads were at 0 mm and making noise. After they completed the job there was still intermittent noise coming from the rear. I called Paul to set-up a time to have their work checked and he set-up the appointment for the following week. He then calls me the day of and tells me there is no loner vehicles available, fair enough. I tell him let's reschedule for the following week. I come in the following week and he spends a half an hour trying to justify why they need to charge me a $190 diagnostic fee to recheck their work, which was completely absurd. I disagreed with him and a half an hour later he agrees that they would recheck their work at no charge, making me late for my appointment. I leave for my appointment and tell him I'll be back to go over the inspection with them he tells me to call 10 mins before I arrive and to come in after 1 pm, to make sure one of his guys were available. I call him 10 mins before I arrive and leave a message letting him know I'm on the way, once I get their he tells me that his foreman and diagnostic lead are on lunch and I have to wait. I ask him how long and he tells me "I don't know they don't check in with me" rude and absurd. He makes me wait an hour before I finally see my car going into the shop. I follow him to the back and Paul tells me to go have a seat (rude) so he can speak to them which I suspect was to conspire. Just as I suspected I'm talking to the forman Adrianne and he starts telling me the same thing Paul said that they needed to charge me a diagnostic fee to see what's going on, again I disagreed. Then he tries to blame the issue on a previous separate issue that was already resolved. I disagreed and then he tells me it's most likely the caliper which they still need to "diagnose" I told him why didn't you diagnose it while you were replacing the pads. He said they don't do that and that they have to charge for it. Which is completely absurd since the pads sit right on the caliper. That's like saying I put your tire back on and didn't tighten the bolts because I have to charge for it. Then he tells me that actually they wouldn't have been able to install the pads if the caliper was bad I said ok. He then says it's probably just a sticky caliper (which again means a bad caliper) basically they didn’t want to tell me the first time it was a bad caliper so I would have to come back again and get the breaks redone along with calipers which is negligent. I ask them to check the rear differential fluid and torque it accordingly. They complied but then I notice them putting this green grease on the bolt to mark it so they can see if anyone else tries to open it. They didn't ask me if they could do that and nor did I authorize it. In the end they quote me over 3k to replace the calipers which never go bad on these cars and which at most would cost $500 per side parts and labor. Nevertheless, to add insult to injury he tries to quote me two calipers instead of the one I may need, again completely absurd. These guys are crooks I've had their work verified by another shop and they lie. They told me my control arm bushings needed to be replaced which was not true. I would stay away from this dealership, they are crooks. I know they have to pay for all those new expensive renovations but that isn't they way to do it. Bye!!

Impressive Dealership & Staff!

Had just experienced a disappointment at the Infiniti Dealership that I had purchased my last Infiniti from, which was a year ago. I saw an used Infiniti Q-70, that I had been searching for, advertised on Bob Smith BMW's website. I went into the Dealership and I was amazed at the friendliness, efficiency and customer service, I was served with. What a great team of people! A special thanks to the Internet Sales staff. Had a great experience at Bob Smith. Jason Rucker in Sales took the time to work out an unbelievable deal for me on a 440i. His patience and sense of humor made the day fly by! And Amir Zaratshoa in Finance gave me time to understand the details of my lease, fine tuning exactly what I wanted and structuring it in a way that made me comfortable. These guys made it a pleasure to lease a car! And if you’re lookimg at executive demos, Bob Smith seems to know how to find well equipped demo vehicles and turn them around at a great price!

What a pleasurable experience at Bob Smith BMW! The entire atmosphere at the dealership was welcoming and everybody works as a team to help each other. Wayne Lewis was exceptional! He was so patient, explained everything along the process and was so enjoyable to do business with. On top of that, I got a great deal on a beautiful 440i Convertible! Purchasing a vehicle is not typically in my top 10 of enjoyable ways to spend a Saturday, but Wayne made car-buying an enjoyable experience again!

Purchased my first BMW from Wayne Lewis at Bob Smith BMW. I used to dread buying cars and always felt like I was being "taken" every time. Wayne was transparent and confirmed my feelings and research that I was getting a great deal. I was looking at BMWs from three dealers across So Cal and Wayne was always quick to respond to my questions. When I saw the car I wanted, he pulled it off the lot and held it for me. I was not disappointed after making a 2-hour drive to the dealership. Loved the car and settling on a fair price was painless. Amir in the Finance department was also a pleasure to work with. There was absolutely no hard up-selling of options and warranties. It was simply here is what we offer, this is the value proposition and we moved on. Don't be afraid to make the drive from anywhere is So Cal to see these guys. Great group!

Best Car Experience Ever

I just leased a 2018 BMW 330i and it was the best car experience I have ever had. I dealt directly with Wayne Lewis and communicated by email prior to coming to Bob Smith BMW. Bob Smith has a great website. I found the car I wanted and requested a quote for lease and Wayne gave me a fantastic price. I immediately agreed and met him at the dealership. Wayne greeted me instantly and found rebates for me. Other sales people would take advantage of those incentives. My lease dropped 10% from my original price that I agreed to and it covered most of my drive off. I couldn’t believe it. It is a ridiculous price. Wayne is the real deal. Wayne is the first sales person in my 30 years of getting cars that is honest, transparent and plays no games. I arrived at 12:30pm and I was out of there at exactly 2pm. The finance was quick and flawless. Amir is a real gentleman. He goes over normal disclosures as required by law and it was quick. I’ve worked with car brokers in the past, distant dealerships but if you want a BMW ask for Wayne Lewis.
