Bad experience. Stay away.

by Bartholomew on 11/17/2016

Bad experience with these guys. They are manipulative and deceitful. Take your business elsewhere. One salesman quoted me $20k for a car, which seemed like a good deal. When I went to purchase the car, I filled out all the paperwork and the Sales Manager comes back in and says he can't sell it for less than $22,500. When I asked why they couldn't uphold the 1st quote, they suggested that I had been the one who threw that number out there. That is absolutely 100% not true, their own salesman put together a $20k quote and we even worked out what the payments would be. Then the Sales Manager starts telling me how the monthly payment won't be that different, like I'm just going to be cool with paying $2500 more. Insanity. That's just the quick version of it. They were also not respectful of my time and kept me waiting around for hours. Also, I suspect that one of the salesmen lied about having a car I called about just to get me to come in person to the dealership. Sleezy.

Professional, Honest & Genuinely Helpful

by AlysonS on 02/14/2015

I took delivery of a new Toyota Highlander this week and I couldn’t be happier with Burien Toyota. It’s one of the most professional and genuinely helpful dealerships I’ve ever experienced. Burien Toyota didn’t have the color I wanted but quickly found a car that was in transit from the factory. Roger Stone, our sales person, was extremely professional and followed up daily to let me know the status. When I took delivery, Roger was efficient and informative while covering the important functions without overwhelming me. I was impressed with Roger and Team’s attention to detail – the car was immaculate and their delivery process was impeccable. Plus, everyone we interacted with was genuinely positive, knowledgeable, helpful and nice – especially Roger Stone and Bobby Lynn (sales manager). I highly recommend Burien Toyota and will definitely take my car there for service.

a very good experiences

by ericbsw on 07/03/2014

We bought a RAV4 form Burien's Toyota last weekend, and have a very pleasure experiences. I start research on Edmunds website, send quote requests to 3 local dealers. I got response emails from all, follow by phone calls. Paul with Burien's Toyota give me best price for the RAV4 I want. We meet Paul and Kevin 2nd day in dealer showroom, went through decide a right car, negotiate the price and trade-in, all smoothly, Paul and Kevin keep the price from quote, never try to sell us something we don't need. Our English is not good because it's our second language. Paul and Kevin made all steps very clear, so we know what we pay for. We do buy car in a few years ago, had bad experience. This is our first time, buy a car from a dealer become a enjoy experiences.

Bait and Switch

by NW_Explorer on 04/01/2014

Advice: Before you go to the dealer, print out the stock number, VIN number. I had a bad experience ! I saw a van posted on their web site. Called and confirmed that it was there. Went to buy it the same day (for the internet sale price), first they told me that they didn't have the car etc. Next I was told it was sold. Later I was told that the car is on a truck ( per carfax the car was from Marysville, WA, so hard to understand why would it be on a truck) in the mean time they kept trying to sell other vans to me. . I was told I will be the first one to know when the car comes, they took my contacts but no call the next day. In the mean time the same car, is listed as a certified used car. (If they sold the car, then wouldn't the update say that it is sold instead of certified update). Called again they person wanted to sell me another car, I informed him about the one I was interested. Well per the person the car is sold. The car is still listed on their website for sale ! We have bought 2 cars in the last year (FJ Cuiser, and a Camry) from Toyota of Seattle, and have been very happy with the dealership.

Burien Toyota Internet Department, finally a great car buying experience.

by David_C on 08/28/2013

After couple of emails with Kevin K., he quoted me a good price on a 2013 Corolla. I was in and out in about an hour. No trying to sell add ons or extended warranties. No trying to squeeze me for a few more bucks. just sign and go. Special thanks to Kevin K. and Paul P. or a job well done. I highly recommend them and I will buy there again.

Good Experience overall

by Zzzzzzzzz on 07/20/2013

Went there looking for an economy car. Drove a Corolla and was introduced to the Prius C. Reserched Prius C on the web, requesting offers from several dealers. Burien was the only good offer on the lease. I mentioned in an email that I had already talked to a salesperson there and test-drove a Corolla, but was only interested in the C now. Worked with the internet manager to drive a C and purchase it. At closing they pushed gap insurance, which Honda provides at no cost, and was much cheaper at my insurance company.

Excellent Service and lowest price than any other Toyota in Buget Sound

by consumer37 on 06/30/2013

I emailed multiple dealerships through Edmunds.com for a quote on a 2013 New Rav4 Limited AWD. I knew all standard features, color, and options I want. I even physically came to different Toyota locations: Toyota Scion of Kirkland, Michael's Toyota of Bellevue, MAGIC TOYOTA, Rodland Toyota and Burien Toyota. Couple Toyota places (such as Magic and Rodland) even sent me the emails and said that they will beat whatever the lowest price by $500. But when I came to their locations, they changed their prices and it is far more than the other places. They played game and let me wait for longer time, go back and forth and pressure me to buy. So I decided to visit Burien Toyota since it is a little farther south. I met Tim H. who is the Internet Sales Manager. I was so impressed by his professional, his knowledge, and his excellent services. He gave me the test drive, and answer all questions I had. He never try to push me to buy the car but just answered my questions. He kept what he quoted on price that he sent me. Specially he gave me the price that there is no other Toyota dealers can match and it is low under the invoice. This is totally changing my experience of buying the car. I highly recommend Tim H. from Burien Toyota: no pressure to buy, the price was lowest than any other Toyota dealers, and paperwork was quick. I will definitely buy my next car here.

Good no-huddle price

by zruty on 11/13/2012

I didn't have time or resources to drive around the area researching prices, so I did all my negotiations by email. I e-mailed all the Toyota dealers in my region, and this dealership was the only one that just provided me with the straight quote for a new 2012 Camry, without all the marketing mumbo-jumbo of 'call us for a quote', and 'come by for a test drive'. And the price itself turned out to be the best across all dealerships. On the downside, it looks like my preferred color/interior combination wasn't all that common, and they didn't realize that until the deal was set and they went to secure the car for me. Personally, I'm fine with that, especially since they only found the model with carpeted floor mats and just left them in for me for free. But beware, it can go another way and you might have the deal cancelled late. All in all though, I'm satisfied with my purchase, and with the service provided by the salespeople. Thanks for Tim H. for not being afraid to tell the price by email.

Best Price, Great Service

by ela5 on 03/23/2012

Once I knew what car I wanted I contacted several Toyota dealers in the greater Puget Sound area through Edmunds (as well as the Costco dealer). Burien Toyota quoted the best price so I made an appointment. After a quick negotiation I purchased a Prius V. They handled all the details professionally and efficiently. I am 100% satisfied.

Bait and Switch

by toyogo on 10/11/2011

I called around looking for a specific color of Toyota truck. They said they had it and it was available. I drove an hour to get there. The salesman told me he'd be right with me and to wait by the truck. While I was waiting another salesman came and drove the truck away. My salesman said there was a mistake, that truck was sold, but they had other colors. I walked. Don't go here.

awful

by myreview1010 on 09/18/2010

The sales people offered me a college graduate rebate, said i was just over the requirement because you had to have graduated within 2 years and i graduated two and a half years ago, but not to worry about it they would make it work. A month after having the car i received a phone call from Shannon in the finance office saying i owed them another 1,000 dollars because i didn't qualify for the college grad. rebate and we'd have to sign an new loan, after arguing for days and days i offered to pay 500 dollars of the rebate if they paid the other half, which they agreed too. If i had the money to hire a lawyer i'd have sued but that would have cost me more then 500 bucks so i settled. Will never buy a car there again, won't even be having the services done there. The people treated me like i was the bad guy even though they were ones faulting on their promise, just an awful experience, take my advice, go to another dealership.

Watch these guys

by rustya on 04/27/2009

Everything was cool, until I wrote the deposit. Then, delays and demands for information. They'll demand your financial data and claim its required by State law - it's not unless you're financing through them. Just refuse. They'll also present you with a privacy disclosure that does not have a box to opt out - you must write "opt out" on the form to escape whatever their game is.

Prius at Burien

by greencar1 on 01/02/2009

I didn't care for the salesman I dealt with. He came across as a sleazy used car salesman. The sticker price on the Prius he quoted me was about $2000 above the price of other dealerships in the area, and he tried to convince me that it was a bargain, and he was the local expert on the Prius. He also tried to pressure me into buying, telling me what a long waiting list there was for Priuses in 2009 (other dealerships had no waiting lists). I went elsewhere.

What they quoted in email is what I got

by ba10 on 03/18/2008

Like the previous reviewer I worked through Tom Boulanger to get my 2008 Prius. His email quote was lower than the other dealers (Consumer reports bottom line price + 6%) and he was actually consistent throughout about the numbers and the package I bought (#2.) He worked through email until I was ready to visit, so there were no home phone calls like the barrage I got from other places. There was some weirdness about getting the color I wanted (asking was I sure I wouldn't take what was already on the lot) and worrying whether I'd be able to find the car - which appeared a day later - but Tom was definitely the most low-key experience of my car buying career. Someone more forceful than me perhaps could have gotten a reduction, but I hate hate hate car buying and I appreciated the relatively friction-free experience. I'm not sure the low key experience applies to all customers of this dealership - I saw a couple getting the hard sell on a Scion (?) while I was at my appt - but it's true for Tom and the internet sales process. Do your homework, figure out whether you want their financing etc, and you should do ok.

Bait and Switch

by tomj4 on 02/23/2008

I contacted a salesman and we agreed to a purchase for $500 over invoice and they would show me the invoice. I had the salesman call back and confirm that the manager had agreed to the deal. When I got there, I was presented with a manufactured document that added approximately $2,000.00 in bogus charges (I had the invoice from Consumer Reports). When I confront them, they finally showed me the real invoice that verified that they had lied to me and had tried to cheat me. This dealership is full of bait and switch [violative content deleted]. Buyer beware.

Internet buyer? Ask for Kelly Stewart

by rogeroger on 02/07/2008

I've posted other reviews about a very positive internet research/buying experience. Kelly provided one of those. Kelly gave me a direct, up-front quote on a Scion and waited patiently for me to make a decision. My questions were answered directly and quickly. In the end I decided against a Scion and am going with a Civic, but Kelly kept our communication open and even asked for feedback on why I decided against the Scion. I was impressed that even though there was no sale, Kelly continued to communicate with me respectfully and I enjoyed our discussion about the xB's design features. If you are buying a Toyota or Scion, I'm sure Kelly will also treat you right. Hooray for internet etiquette!

bate and switch

by gkitz on 01/13/2008

After discussing buying a car with Dave (first name only) we agreed at $100 over invoice and he had the Sales Manager (Kevin) run their usual financial check. The first thing Kevin did was to (such a smooth talker) was to first bring up that he saw that Dave and I had agreed upon the $100 and Kevin immediately said that it would be easier 2% and than he went right on discussing the terms of leasing vs. buying. His 2% added another $450 to my ticket, granted not much, but as far as I'm concerned he got greedy. I informed them I had to review with my accountant and than left. This blew the deal and tomorrow I will discuss with Dave and go somewhere else.

Courteous, prompt, great customer service!

by pb3 on 09/18/2007

I bought my 2008 Prius from Burien Toyota. I worked with Tom Boulanger, internet sales manager, and he was super prompt and professional. I got the best price after shopping around with 5 or 6 dealers and certainly one of the most courteous and honest car sales people that I have worked with. Would highly recommend them!
