Subaru knows they gave me a defective On-Star chip that drains the battery

I bought a 2019 Subaru Outback, and this car would kill the battery ("parasitic draining" as they called it). There was a class action lawsuit - https://www.premiersubaru.com/service/subaru-battery-settlement.htm . I have issues with this on two accounts: 1) I was never notified of the class action lawsuit; they can send me marketing emails but can't let me know that a class action lawsuit is ongoing and 2) the real cause of the problem is the On-Star chip in the car for which I had to pay in order to leave my car for four days without driving it and not having the battery dead. I won't buy another Subaru in my life based solely on how they have handled this issue.

Service Reminder Screen Notice

The service reminder screen had not been reset when I had my last service performed in July. As a result, the screen started popping up with a message indicating that I needed service that I had just received the prior month. This information was explained to me by my service consultant, Carlos. He said that, at my convenience, to bring my car in at any time and, for no charge, he would have a tech reset the service reminder screen. I thanked him and plan to take my car in to the dealership in the next couple of days. Most of the questions below are not relevant to my immediate issue so I answered them as they related to the service I had in July.

Easy, relaxed and well informed

I had an unexpectedly nice experience starting with the sales person followed by the finance department who led me thru, and advocated on my behalf, to get the best rate possible. That was all followed up by the title department that was quick and had my plates within 1 day and made sure that the service department had my plates installed. All in all, great experience. This is what a dealer should be for an important purchase!

6 hours I will never get back

Fancy on the outside, [non-permissible content removed] on the inside. Stohlman Subaru should spend less time lying to customers and worrying about the building appearance and should spend more time understanding their cars. After talking to two different salesman on the phone for an hour we had come to an agreement on a price for a car. They did not budge from there original asking price which was 865 dollars more than the price listed online. Once I conceded, I told them I was on my way but it would take me two hours to get there because I live in Pennsylvania. Upon arrival, I told the unfriendly people at the desk that I was here to buy a car from Omid. He then told me that my car had been sold 5 minutes before I arrived. He then showed me a car that was “exactly the same,” however it did not have the features I wanted and it had 18 thousand more miles then the original car. After I told him I didn’t want that car he scrambled for the next 30 minutes to find me something comparable. He was unsuccessful. They wasted over 6 hours of my time. I will never go back to Stohlman Subaru in Sterling Virginia.

I am very satisfied with the service personnel and quality of work at Stohlman's Subaru at Tysons Corner. In fact I'm satisfied with their sales representation as well when I purchased my 2016 Crosstrek there. Based on my experience, can't imagine going anywhere else for servicing or any future sale.

Jesse, our salesperson, at Stohlman Subaru provided excellent service. He was very efficient and attentive in ensuring purchase deal was to our satisfaction. He made himself available and was very patient. I have had to contact him since the purchase, and he couldn't have been more helpful and quick in assisting me. I just bought a new 2018 3.6R limited Outback from Stohlman Subaru after extensive email negotiation with numerous area dealers. Alex Yakovlev was courteous, responsive, and professional. He paid attention to precisely what I was asking for and ultimately came back with the best price/package combination. Just bought a 2018 Subaru Forester from Stohlman and Alex helped me out through throughout the buying process. Excellent customer service from Alex and the other employees from Stohlman (finance manager and service center). Told Alex what I was looking for and he helped me get exactly what my wife and I wanted. Very responsive with communications over several days. Second time buying a car with Stohlman Subaru, a got a good deal on the price, trade-in value and financing.

Thanks to Richard, we got a sweet deal on a 2018 Crosstrek. I did not need to buy a vehicle since the early 2000s so I was hesitant going to Stohlman. Fortunately, the experience was great. Richard was friendly and accommodating throughout the whole experience. He also got us a great deal on the maintenance package since we had it on our old Forester. Overall, a great experience, would recommend Richard and Stohlman to any incoming car buyers.

My husband and I purchased a Subaru Forester from a lovely young man named Richard Kuenzler. He walked us through the whole process and was very informative. We are extremely happy with the deal Richard got us. I was feeling uneasy about buying a car, since it's a big purchase, but having Richard break down everything and letting us make our own decision, without pushing and just simply answering any questions we had really helped us feel confident in our decision.
