Disappointed

by DavidLikesCars on 02/25/2018

I am a teacher and GM has a GM educators discount. Happy for me! But wait. About four weeks after I purchased a car, Jerry's sent me paperwork to sign for the educators discount. OK, my bad. I went back to the purchase paper work and realized, Egads!, I never got the discount. So then I went online to learn more about the program. Long story short, I found out that Jerry's was not following the rules, I didn't get the discount, and the only reason I could figure that they wanted me to fill out the paperwork so late was that they wanted to pocket the difference from GM. When I told them that they were not following the policy and rules for the program, they quit asking me to sign the paperwork. Buying my next car from there? No. Not a chance.

Worst customer service I've ever seen - RUN!!

by ryan319444 on 06/08/2017

STOP & RUN!!!! I bought my first car from this dealership a few years ago when I was 18. It was a 2011 Mustang and I bought it for right what the KBB, NADA, Edmund's, said it should be sold for which was somewhere around 15k. Everything was fine and I went on my way. The car ran great had no issues. About a year or so ago when I started to look at trading it in I took it to CarMax who shared with me the car had been in 3 accidents in which the airbag deployed and much of the car was messed up.. for that reason they said they couldn't give me anything more than 6k for it.. even though real value was about 9k at that time. Fast forward a year later and I'm looking to trade in the car again. I tapped the back of someone so there now is a crack in the bumper and dent in the hood. I took it to a few body shops who want 1500-2000. Today I went to Jerry's Chevy the same place I bought the mustang from to look for a new vehicle. I found a blue 2017 blue Chevy Camaro which I went to look at. I figured since this place screwed me over so bad on selling me a car with 3 accidents, not disclosing any of them, they would be the best deal on getting some money out of it and not having so much negative equity. I met with a lady who said she was the sales manager.. she was very nice at first. They appraised my car in about 20 minutes and offered me $1,500. I told her that was ridiculous and I had been offered 6k a year ago and around 3k just a couple weeks prior (with the small damage on the front). She then began to defend her ridiculous offer and tell me that the car has been in multiple accidents where the air bags deployed, she told me the car was messed up so bad they had to put it in pieces on the tow truck. She said they could never sell this car and it would go straight to auction. Once she was done I asked her if she knew where the car was bought? Before she could answer I made her aware that her company sold me this car just a few years ago with all the accidents having already happened (except the small front damage). I told her that's really bad business to sell a car at FULL VALUE knowing all the accidents and then you tell me it would never be on your lot and telling me how destroyed it was.. She got defensive and started raising her voice telling me that she didn't personally sell me the vehicle and that she wouldn't put it on her lot. We talked for a little longer and couldn't agree on anything so I began to leave and asked if she minded if I keep a copy of the appraisal and she said "yeah I do, call me if you change your mind" so I couldn't even keep her appraisal and as I start to drive away she walks out behind me and says she didn't even notice the dent on the hood. She yelled "you want 4,000 for this, I didn't even see the damage on the front" She appraised my car in 20 minutes and didn't even see the front damage. I told her I was screwed over from the start and gave you a chance to come back and fix this and you gave me a lower offer than even any other dealerships. The main point is her customer service was terrible, she yelled at me as the customer. As I left she yelled at me "it's your fault you bought the car" I work in CS and if one of my employees ever talked like that to a customer they'd be fired. Check your Carfax, they'll take advantage if they can.

The Best Straight Up Car Buying Experience Ever

by Dsmile1984 on 02/10/2016

From my salesman, to the General Sales Manager, and the Finance Director, and everyone else I came in contact with was very helpful and friendly. I have not had my new Impala serviced yet, but I have talked with the service manager and look forward to going there when I need service.

Happy! Happy! Happy!

by spartan2015 on 02/08/2016

Jerry's Chevrolet was extremely helpful in getting me out of a very tough situation. We were in between a rock, a hard place, & some very uncomfortable sand! With Jerry's Chevrolet, we were able to move some negative equity from a previous car into a new 2015 Chevrolet Malibu LT, and it turned out to be a great experience. Overall I was extremely impressed with the facility. All the employees were helpful & friendly, and even set up transportation for us to their facility from the D.C. area. Overall the employees were very friendly, hospitable, & even managed to get me out before I had to go to work. The employee we worked with the most was Kelly, who was very sweet & had everything ready for us when we came in. I would definitely recommend this company & Kelly to all my friends & family currently looking for a vehicle.

Awesome/Accomodating Staff

by saf0813 on 02/08/2016

Awesome/Accomodating Staff The staff at Jerry's in Leesburg was exceptional. I had gotten in a car accident and had 8 days to find a new car. As soon as I stepped foot into Jerry's I was greeted by Collin (who my appointment was with) and he made me feel extremely comfortable. While he was showing me the cars that I was interested in, he specifically made sure to show me models that included what I needed so I can stay within my budget, rather than trying to upsell me. He was so understanding and treated me like his own daughter in terms of making sure I got what I wanted at a good price and in a timely manner. While he was on speakerphone with my parents, explaining them details, I got to know some of the other employees, Patrick and Mr. Kelly who made me feel comfortable and were able to joke around with me during such a stressful time, being that this purchase was not a planned one. When I came in to pick up my car everyone was saying hello and calling me by name, as if I knew them, which made me feel not only like a valued customer but like they actually liked me and were happy to see me again. There were some loose ends that need to be taken care of and Kelly from customer service stepped in and got everything squared away. She was sweet and literally went above and beyond for me. Not only did she take care of me, but she was a great soundboard for my Dad who had a few concerns along the way. I'm so thankful I stumbled across Jerry's and had the opportunity to work with such an awesome team who had my best interest in mind throughout the whole process.

Possible sales shams...

by customerx2 on 02/05/2016

I called Jerry's the day before requesting pricing on a 2016 Suburban XLT. I told the salesman, (John S.) that I was taking the lowest bid between his dealership and another local Chevrolet dealership. I received Jerry's Chevrolet quote via text message. It was below the other dealership so I ventured down to close the deal the next morning hoping this would be a quick transaction since I had pre-approved check in hand. When the paperwork was drafted I assumed the price would be what he sent the day before. Nope. They added another approximately $5000 to the quote from the day before and said they thought I wanted a XL not a XLT. My conversation with John the day before could not have been clearer and he repeated everything I said as I spoke indicating to me that he was taking notes. All that said to say is I believe they lied to me to get me to come in. The story of confusion between the salesman and sales manger seemed contrived and well worn. Only after I walked out and threatened to call my lender about their seemingly underhanded practice did they lower the price. I ended up with a decent deal and bought the vehicle but did not feel good about buying from them. I will not have my car serviced there for sure though. Just don't trust them anymore.

Poor Sales Practices - Doesn't honor their word

by nutzzz on 06/07/2014

While shopping for a new Corvette Stingray, I stumbled upon Jerry's Chevy. I decided to put in a internet inquiry asking if they accepted Supplier pricing as other dealers do. Joe responded back that they did not accept supplier pricing but they are offering $4,000 off the Corvette Stingray. I specifically asked about a certain VIN and he said it was just added to his inventory sheet and they are doing $4,000 off of that VIN. I asked if they would do a little more as it's not quite good as Supplier pricing and he responded with "When can you come in? Sunday is a great day... Your power to negotiate is to be here ready to purchase. I will do everything I can to accommodate." On Monday morning, After driving about an hour, I showed up at 9AM to speak to Joe and see if we could work out a deal. I assumed since he suggested Sunday would be good that the car might have been there, I assumed wrong. The car was not there yet and I can't work out a deal on something that is coming from another dealership as who knows if the car has any issues. I left and Joe said he'd contact me when the car came in. Joe did as promised, he let me know the car arrived and even snapped two pictures for me. I emailed me my offer and he said he'd have to decline at the time, since HIS offer of $4,000 off was very fair as I mentioned to him. Today I called him up to ask a few more questions and I asked him again about pricing. He stated his manager originally wanted MSRP but he'd stick to his original offer of $4,000 off so I hopped in my car at 4PM on a Friday in DC Traffic to go up and close a deal. After about a hour and a half I arrive. Joe was occupied with another client so I wondered around for a bit. After about 30-45 minutes he and his manager sat down and started to talk. I made a offer of $4,500 off to partially compensate for their RIDICULOUS PROCESSING FEE (or should I say PROFIT FEE) of $589!!! The manager said the best he could do was $1,000 and that was a "gift" Well that "gift" wasn't that special because that's the pricing that is on their website for any potential customer. He goes on about how special the car is and how rare it is etc... I explain to him that other dealers are doing supplier pricing, which is more off than the original $4,000 discount Joe mentioned. He said he couldn't, some dealers are getting over MSRP for these cars and they are hard to find. I left very bothered and distraught after driving 1 1/2 hours to see them to strike a deal they decided to do a BAIT AND SWITCH on me. They got me in a second time and decided to renege on the deal originally presented. Way to go Jerrys! You now lost all of mine, my families and my friends business! Congratulations on a fine job of toying with my head.

Customer Service?

by simpleguy1 on 07/25/2013

This review is simple - Don't smoke in your customer's face! I went to check out a used car at this dealership and the used car manager who introduced himself as Tom, suddenly lit up a cigarette and started smoking!! And the smoke was going in my face!! I was in work clothes and now I'm at work smelling like smoke. I'll never go there again if this is how the MANAGEMENT operates.

I like this place

by ChimneyGuy on 01/03/2013

I moved here from Florida and I'm stationed in Quantico. This dealer was listed as a USAA dealer so I took the drive up here. Everything was straight forward. I'm actually in the dealership right now just waiting for my new Cruze to be cleaned up. They asked me to write a review if I was happy with my experience - and I am happy. I was worried the price would change, but it did not. The sales person knew WAY MORE than I even needed to know about my new car:) My wife will move up here in a few months once everything is taken care of back home. We will be getting here a new Equinox when she gets here. I'll do business here again.

Pleasant buying experience

by kaszman on 08/20/2012

I purchased my new 2012 Chevy Camaro from Jerrys Chevy at their Leesburg store this past June. I initially inquired about the Camaro online and they gave me a quote on the car in their first email to me. I won't lie, I did try to shop the price to other dealerships and a couple told me that if I could buy the Camaro at the quoted price to do so. Basically they said I was lying about the quote. I was ready for fight if Jerrys didnt honor the price because the other dealerships had convinced me that the quote wouldnt be honored. Simply put I test drove the car - LOVED IT! I gave them the email I printed out and was told that made things even easier and they honored the price. I went from being tense to relieved all at once. I love this Camaro and I am happy to refer anyone I know to Jerrys. The internet makes things confusing in my opinion because so many dealers lie and are too aggressive - I was happy with the straight forward information I received from Jerrys.

2 Cars, very happy

by rplimpton on 02/26/2011

I just purchased a second new car from Jerry's Chevrolet in Leesburg, VA. They gave me a very good price both times. They were very honest, showed all documentation, reviewed the numbers several times. The salesperson that I used both times was great to work with. There's nothing "fancy" about this dealership, just friendly people and a good price.
