Bought a brand new 2004 VW Passat diesel from this dealership. Car ran great for12000 miles then the engine light came on and the car ran very rough with smoke comming out etc. Brought the car to Alex Vw where we bought it. After waiting 2 hours I went to the service person. They told me they had a problem. !st the porter bringing the car into the maintance bay side swiped the side of the car and they had taken it to the body shop without telling me what happened. I asked to see the manager. I told them to bring the car back to me so I could see what had happened. The front fender and the whole side of the driver's door was scraped and was a yellow pole. They said they would fix it. They did give us a rental car WOW. Two weeks later the alexandria VW called us and said the problem with the engine is that the glow plugs in two cylinders were bad. They replaced them with metal glow plugs and when they started the car the meatel plugs melted into the cylinder walls destroying the engine. They said thet ordered up a engine for a replacement. Two days later I called the maint mgr and asked about the progress. They said they recived a warped cylinder head for fla and needed to get another one. ! week later VW called me and said they recieved the engine parts and would have the car readr in a couple of days. Finally I went to pick up the car. They said that they found some ceramic glow plugs somewhere and put those in because they work with our computer software in the car and the so called patch software for VW would not work. So we were back at square one and the car was not done. It was the sane as we brought it in and the problem will come up again when these ceramic glow plugs burn out. Alexandria VW said we could buy a new car from them and the would give us a good deal. Now we were talking to the son of the dealership and the main mgr and a salesman. Well the big deal was on a Jetta. The price they advertised on the internet was less than the price they quoted us at the dealership. Some deal . Alexandria VW is a rip off all around from the service dept to the sales dept. Nobody should go to that Dealership unless they like getting ripped off.
