Not happy

Just bought a used car from them. Had a loud rattle. Took it to be fixed. They claim it had a broken motor mount. Said it would take 4 hrs to fix. Took them 30 minutes and I left the dealership with same rattle. Before this I had an edge with a blown motor with only 60000 miles. Factory defect so Ford paid for most of it since warranty was gone. Ford really came thru for me. Ford, not homer Skelton! Anyway home Skelton put new motor in and check engine light came on day after we picked it up. Took it back they fixed it. Light came on again week later. That's when I traded for piece of junk I have now at homer Skelton

Service department used incorrect non-Ford parts

In 2021, i took my truck to get the transmission fluid changed. Being a Ford dealership, I assumed Ford Motorcraft fluid would be used. Now 35k miles later, my truck has developed transmission problems. When i pulled out my receipt from Homer Skelton Ford, I realized that not only did they not service my truck with Ford Mercon LV fluid as Ford directs, they used a bargain brand BG non LV fluid while my truck requires low viscosity Mercon LV(BG even offers an LV fluid 315 but they did not used it. 314 is regular synthetic ATF). I called Homer Skelton service department 3 days ago to inform them of this problem and was told they would call me back. Still no call back.

Service department is not what it used to be. They try to tell you nothing is wrong with your car until it is out of warranty and then tell you whats wrong with a high cost to fix it. Took a truck in with brakes squealing and they told me it was due to break dust!! Got it home and they still squealed. Took it back three more times and they finally warranted the brakes to have them changed after telling me it was no longer covered due to mileage. Had to fight with them to get them replaced. Got it home and the noise got worse so I traded the truck in. Took another vehicle in for a nail in a tire and they told me they could not fix it because of location of nail but proceeded to tell me that they could replace the tire for $275 for a tire that had 3000 miles on it!!!! I took it to Tate Brothers down the road and they fixed the tire for $10 and it is perfectly fine.

I live 6 hours away and found the car on Carfax. The dealership kept in contact with me over the weekend and holiday so I knew the car was still available. I made the drive down, traded in my old car and drove home in my new car. Jack was the salesman and he was very personable and kind. The finance mgr. answered all my questions and the manager of the dealership was friendly as well. It was a great experience and I’m grateful to have found the car at a great establishment like Homer Skelton.

From not interfering with me while I looked at the trucks to answering my questions, and finally into the office for the purchase, Billy and Danny where fantastic!!! This was a very pleasant experience that I really needed. I had been to other dealerships where the salesperson was really "to much into my business" but Billy and Danny was not. They let me do my thing and stayed near by so if I had questions. Laid back, non stressful purchase!!!
