John Steward, Sales Associate at Honda of Salem, gets my 5 Stars!!!!!

One year ago this December, it’s been a year since I went to Honda of Salem for checkup for my 2011 2-door Honda Civiv and got the depressing news that it was DOA, value equivalent to what’s in it’s gas tank, which didn’t surprise me, but it did mean I needed a healthier Honda to get me home. I met John Steward over a cup of coffee in the services waiting area and struck up a conversation about life experiences that have been not pleasant but helped me become the person I was that day. No less loveful for the heart-stomping past experiences. Which is always a ‘win’ no matter how much else may have had to be left behind as the future pulls the person forward, in my opinion. If you still have a lot of love in you, you are going to be OK. Anyway, interestingly, John Steward and I had been having that conversation when I got the bad news there in the Honda of Salem Services Department’s waiting area about my terminally ill 2011 2-door Honda Civic. I needed to make a decision about what I could do to get a vehicle and John announced he was a sales associate for Honda of Salem and could show me some used cars that I might be able to afford. He did and I went home in a paid-in-full, and savings account scraping bottom, used 2016 4-door Honda that has for the past year greatly improved the quality of my life. And, I know that that very brief interaction with John Steward, Sales Associate for Honda of Salem, was pivotal in getting me headed toward a better quality of life that I’ve enjoyed over the past 12 months. Brief person-to-person interactions, even if both are strangers to one another, in the course of any given day can be viewed as fleeting, but if kindness is exchanged during one of those interactions, the quality of that interaction can be life lasting… both end up more loveful, and that lasts over time, in my opinion. Phillip is the reason I’m leanin’

I basically bought the car because of how I was treated by Phil. He was straight with me and understood that I was there to look at the Honda Civic manual and didn’t try to talk me into getting an automatic. I test drove about 10 cars during my search and spoke with around 20 salesman during this process. Phil was legitimately the best person that I worked with. The days of salespeople beliving they just need to get someone to the car lot and they can sell them anything are numbered. We have the internet now and can search inventory without leaving our home. We can watch YouTube videos in order to learn and anticipate how dealerships will try and take advantage of us by driving up the cost of a vehicle with unnecessary add-ons and fees. Phil represents the future of car salesman and should be training new hires on how to effectively assist customers in making a decision on the purchase of a new vehicle. Moving forward, I will be referring my friends and family directly to Phil when they are interested in purchasing a new car. The car is pretty cool, too.

Ruben immediately understood what I wanted and needed and he made it happen hassle free. This was by far one of the easiest car buying experiences and the difference was Ruben. Mitch in finance was amazing as well his customer service is top notch! Mitch really knows his work and makes sure that you understand all your options and is willing to talk through them all with you. This was by far the best finance experience I have had at a dealership as well. I felt very confident in both of these guys and that they were helping me and my husband actually enjoy the car buying process and experience.

Our salesperson Justin Jahn was very helpful. He kept his word about getting us out the door in 2 hours. He answered all of our questions thoroughly. Signing the paperwork was a breeze with the finance department. Would definitely recommend!

I even called him the next day to see if he could check to make sure I didn't leave my jumper cables in the car, he ran out and checked for me. I missed my AM appointment and Asylum texted to follow up. She offered me an afternoon appointment and I accepted. The greeting in the garage was friendly and sincere, Asylum was ready and waiting for me when I arrived and I waited comfortably in the client area. The work was complete, the wrench light id off and some little elf vacuumed the inside front area of my car. Was I happy? OH YEAH!
