They will waste your time with tired bait-and-stitch tactics!

by Adam L on 10/03/2021

Selling my 3-year old used car on Craigslist, I had done my homework. I priced it based on the latest Kelly Blue Book price and an AutoVin report based on a detailed inspection of my vehicle. Normal wear, "good" condition minus $500-$700 of excess damage. Check. That's what the car is worth. Along comes Saul Hernandez-Salgado from Royal Moore, soliciting me to sell them may car because they need it so badly due to low inventory conditions. I agree on a price that's $200 lower than my bottom line number, since they promise to take it in and write me a check with no hassle. I show up a couple of days later on Saul's day off and ask for Clint Edwards as instructed. I get the typical car-dealer treatment. "Sit here and wait while Clint checks the car. I'm talking to him in the other office." (You know the drill.) After I wait half an hour, the guy comes back with a number that's $2,500 less than what I agreed with Saul. I pick up my title and keys and walk out. Clint calls me that night and proceeds to say how he's just the objective appraiser. He doesn't know what went on. He basically throws Saul under the bus. Wouldn't you know, I sold the car less than 24 hours later to a private party buyer for the exact bottom line number I started at with Saul! If you want to waste your time with a sleazy car dealership that doesn't keep its word and tries to pull the most tired bait-and-switch maneuvers in the book, then you should head straight for Royal Moore and ask for Clint.

New Outback

by ripcityOD on 08/28/2018

Had a great experience at Royal Moore Subaru. Tim was helpful and knew what he was talking about. Helped us get a brand new 2019 Outback for less than what other dealerships were offering their 2018 Outbacks for. We shopped around at quite a few dealers and Royal Moore was by far the most willing to work with us to find the right car for the right price.

Leased a New Outback

by Lucy_Mag on 07/22/2018

Tim was great! I had been to three other dealerships by the time I got to Royal Moore and I was so over the whole car buying thing. Tim was nice, informative, patient and not pushy at all. When I realized later that I had forgot a remote control in my trade in, I called Tim and he offered to drop it by my work even though it was his day off. I’ll definitely recommend Tim and Royal Moore to my friends and family.

Our TWO new cars

by WoodysAscent on 07/22/2018

spent hours online researching Subaru's new Ascent. Have two big dogs and wanted the room. Went to three dealers and found my match at Royal Moore. No pushing, no long sales pitches.. just answered questions. The big day came (yesterday) and my car was here. My wife came along and found her next car (last of the Forester XT turbo's in the Sepia (?) color). She was planning on replacing her car in the fall, but Don made her a great offer. On my end, Jeff Anderson was perhaps the best car expert I've ever encountered. And what he didn't know (as the Ascent is a brand new line for Subaru) he openly learned with me. Test driving a car with Jeff is a must do experience. You not only get a briefing on the car, but a driving lesson that quite honestly makes driving fun again (and I'm in my mid 50's). Very very nice.

Love My New Car

by JJ2019JJ on 05/25/2018

We had a very satisfying experience with Daniel Chumbley and Ryan LeBlac. We left the dealership with a brand-new car and were thrilled with the experience. It was a pleasure to do business with the helpful and knowledgeable staff. We are very happy with our purchase and would highly recommend Royal Moore Subaru.

New Car Owner

by OIrvin96 on 05/01/2018

When buying any car you go into it with the hopes of finding a car that not only looks good but comes with a great price. Greg gave me a call letting me know that he was excited to show me the car I had inquired about as well as the other Crosstreks if the first didn't work. He made buying my first car easy and stress free. I did a lot of research on my own but Greg made sure that I knew what I was getting. He never pressured me into the sale and actually encouraged me to think about it because he didn't want a customer leaving with a car that was not what they truly wanted. He went above and beyond with explaining all the details from, what button controls what to how the different safety features on the car worked. I am loving the Crosstrek that I got and I am now a Subaru owner for life.

My buying experience

by Treach49 on 04/25/2018

Tim Parkyn was very good and professional. He couldn't negotiate price but knew the product and was very helpful. He even came in on a day off. Wasn't happy with management who wouldn't meet or beat other local dealer stating (we are already losing money-Questionable) But Tim, the Financial person and the shop people were very good and I would recommend them.

Thanks, Royal Moore!

by OutbackLove on 04/11/2018

My husband and I enjoyed our experience with Royal Moore Subaru. Greg Bristow was excellent! He was knowledgeable, helpful, and was never pushy. He fit us in on a very busy weekend and allowed us to take our time with the entire process- we were able to gain a lot of information and comfort with the car before he even brought up the idea of purchasing. The actual purchasing process was thorough and quick! Everyone we worked with at Royal Moore was helpful and answered any questions we had. After buying our car, Greg has followed up to ensure that we don’t have questions and that we are still happy with our purchase. Also, he let us know that we can come by with questions any time we need to! We LOVE our gorgeous green Outback- thanks Greg!

Well Done Royal Moore

by yackitup on 03/21/2018

My wife and I had a wonderfull experience with Royal Moore Subaru. Our salesman Derek Whitmore was excellent. He was very responsive to initial emails and inquires regarding our intrest in a new Subaru Outback. When we made the decision to go to the dealership a crimson red Outback limited was parked right up front waiting for a test drive. Derek's knowledge of the vehicle and all the options was extremly informative. We were not rushed and took the time to get a good feel for the car before any decision to purchase was even discussed. Upon return to the dealership Derek pulled another crimson red Outback limited up next to the one we test drove and we were able to go over the difference in the option packages to see what best fit our needs. We made our choice and are very happy with it. The limited edition Outback has many technical options and my wife who admittedly is technically challenged and said it was ok to post that was very happy to hear from Derek that she can drop by or call any time to get help with the understanding and usage of the eyesight navigation, blue tooth configuration, entertainment features....etc. the discounts were great and the experince was actually enjoyable.

Stay away

by Rene_245 on 03/19/2018

Should have trusted my gut and walked away after two cars that were being offered were not available when I accepted them and wanted to take delivery. Due to the limited availability of Subaru Crosstreks in limited version at the end of 2017, beginning of 2018 and the fact that one exactly like I wanted was in transit to them I decided to stick with it and go for it. Communication was almost impossible. Phone was not answered. Voice mails and emails were not returned. Visiting the showroom in person to get some answers finding out sales person was not in and no-one else could provide a definite answer. Made an appointment to pick up the car and sales person confirmed appointment the evening prior. At arrival sales person was not there and not coming in. Handing over the delivery to another sales person that had no information. Was not aware of the agreed upon trade in value for the Subaru I was trading in. After rejecting the additional warranty offered for over $3K, I met the finance person to sign all paperwork. Provided all necessary paperwork including payoff statement for the remainder of the loan on the trade in. All paperwork was handled very fast. Later I discovered that an item was added to the purchase agreement that was not offered or asked for. Called Etch on the agreement and appeared to be some sort of theft insurance. The cost of $389.00 was hidden in the fees and tax area and not mentioned. When my loan was not being paid off I contacted the bank and was told they had just received a dealer pay off check. This was 10 days later. When the loan was paid off I noticed that the dealer check was written out for less value than was deducted on the purchase agreement. Several emails requesting restitution for the difference between the dealer check to the bank and what was withheld on the purchase agreement are still unanswered. Complaint regarding the unwanted “theft insurance” is also ignored. Lesson learned: If you want the experience of dealing with the stereotype shady used car dealership you are at the right place. If you want to be treated correctly and respectfully I would recommend going to Carr in Beaverton or Subaru Wilsonville in Wilsonville. You will have no regrets. I purchased cars from them before and wished I had done that again. Had both cars in maintenance at these dealers and no complaints either. I will never go back to Royal Moore, not for service, not for another purchase. Will never recommend this place to anyone. Stay away!

Ask For Greg Bristow

by AlohaJim on 02/13/2018

Greg Bristow, Greg Bristow, Greg Bristow! That’s all you need to know. Seriously, what a great job Greg did taking care of my family. We reached out via the internet to Royal Moore Subaru, because they are part of the Costco purchase program and they have the lifetime power train warranty. Greg contacted me shortly after my request, he attentively and accurately listened to all of my requests, followed up with me when a vehicle would be in, took a $500 deposit over the phone, kept me posted on the expected time of arrival, coordinated a vehicle pick up time, was ready and well organized when we arrived, had the vehicle completely prepped, took us on a test drive, completed the paperwork very quickly and efficiently, but the most impressive thing he did was his interaction with my family. As a “car guy”, I had researched the 2018 Crosstrek in great detail. I bought the car for my teenage twins, because it was the safest, most affordable, well featured all-wheel drive vehicle available. I studied the owners’ manual in advance and watched countless videos and read countless reviews. I also had my 15-year-old (nearly 16) daughter do the same. I brought my daughter with my wife and me (and my daughter’s friend and cousin) so that she/they could learn from the experience. Greg picked up on what I was trying to do and he spent a significant amount of time walking her through everything. He spoke very professionally to her, which really resonated with her and as a result was well and thoroughly received. This included a significant amount of time actually in the car, walking her through every setting. His tone and manner was always professional, genuine and caring. I was very impressed with how technically accurate his presentation was with my daughter. There was not a single technical element that he wasn’t right about. Very, very impressive. It is the first time that I have bought a car that the sales person knew as much as I did about the vehicle’s detail. The finance manager worked with us very professionally and competently as well. The process was very easy, with no high pressure from either of them. Bottom line is that our car buying experience was the best car buying experience I have had, and I have bought multiple new Mercedes, a new Cadillac STS, a new Volvo 850R, new Dodge SRTs and several other high-end cars. The service from Greg and the finance manager at Royal Moore Subaru out performed them all. No review would be complete or fair without mentioning areas for improvement. I have two criticisms, 1) they need to improve their warranty to match the nearby competitor’s (which became available after I ordered my car) and 2) they need to improve the exterior appearance of their Subaru facility. Their website says that they are getting a new building, so that should fix that issue. The facility needs to reflect the quality of their staff and our truly wonderful experience. Thanks to Greg Bristow and his team. Really, really well done! They earned and deserve my highest recommendation.

Worth a 350 mile drive

by shastadoc on 02/03/2018

I drove that distance to be able to buy a new Forester with the Consumer Reports buying service. I was able to make all the arrangements on line with Don and Dan and to get the exact car I wanted at the price I expected. I was offered two extras at the dealership which I chose to decline; there was no pressure to accept. Jeff Anderson gave us a professional and thorough demonstration drive to teach us the basics of handling the new capabilities this car has. The paperwork took a long time but none of it was wasted and Jeff was patient with the extra time due to a change we needed to make. We were treated fairly and everyone was knowledgeable and friendly.

Pleasently Surprized

by bobbybear on 05/29/2017

Yesterday my wife and I purchased a new car from Royal Moore Subaru . This is the first new car we have ever purchased. I'm 68 years old and was expecting stress. I was expecting pushy salesman, sneaky financing, you know all the horror stories of buying a new car from a dealer. I was wrong! Buying a car thru Royal Moore was a stress free pleasant experience. Our sales person was Derek Whitmore, He was knowageable,.friendly and helpful. He knew everything about our car and explained all the new high tech stuff that comes with a new vehicle. We are High Tech challenged so that was kind of tough for him, but he took his time and explained the information so even I could understand it. Don Lilly, who was responsible for figuring out the financing, was a total professional in every way. He worked with us until we had a plan that would work for our financial situation and did it with style and a smile. And last but not least, Patty. Patty is responsible for all the legal paperwork for the car, and again nothing but professional friendly service. Thanks to Derek, Don and Patty for making our car buying experience as pleasurable as possible. So I guess that's it. That's my story. Bob .

Excellent experience purchasing a 2017 Impreza

by TylerJames on 04/16/2017

Best car buying experience ever!!!!!!!!!

by Happy4me on 04/03/2017

Recently bought a new Subaru Forester from Tim Parkyn at Royal Moore Subaru. He made the process so easy, and all the people there were amazing! I also had help from Daniel Chumley and Dan Beaupain. I can't say enough about this dealership and all the people there, even the paperwork was quick and enjoyable. Royal Moore has a lifetime customer here. If the service department is anything like the sales department, I am looking forward to it. I would recommend Royal Moore to all my family and friends.

Loooking for a used Forester. But! Guess what!

by peopleperson on 02/27/2017

To be honest, my Wife and I never look forward to dealing with Car Sale Persons! Wife and I were looking for a used Forester (both of us are retired), with reasonable low mileage and at a particular price for a specific year range. Dan Beaupain showed us what they had, answered our questions as to the used model(s), and as we test drove one answered our questions as well as pointed out some of the features of the vehicle. All through this my Wife and I didn't feel pressured by Dan into deterring us to look at other models at higher prices, as he was showing us what we wanted to see for the price we had in mind, period! When we sat down to talk about the price and other particulars, then Yes, the old need to talk to my manager about this! Okay, here we go, same old same old, right? Wrong! Daniel Chumbley (Sales Mgr) came over, introduced himself and showed us two info sheets. One with the lowest price they could offer for the Used, and another for the lowest price they could offer on a new 2017 model with no hidden fees after the fact, $ amount shown is what it was! Again, No pressure from Daniel , answered some questions we had about the new vehicle and after my Wife and I taking that night to talk about the offer(s). Well, we either take a Used 2015 Forester, As-Is.., 35,000 miles, and other used qualities, Or take door 2 with new 2017 Forester with new car smell for just a little more $$ but really not that much more then what we would have paid for the Used! All in All, Wife and I felt no pressure during the transactions from either Dan or Daniel, and even Karen Wood the Lady that does the paper work who is "bullet proof" didn't try and pressure us to purchase extra add-on-services\warranties that we didn't want, although she is required to ask, but if you say No, then that is as far as it goes! I'm giving these folks this awesome review cause of the No pressure attitude, Take your time to make a decision on offer, Questions answered in a prompt and if question not known Dan would say so and try and find out, and the most important one is the People Skills these folks showed, which I have not seen in past car sales persons we have dealt with! If you who are reading this don't know what people skills are, then obviously you don't have any and I would hate to work for you, or work with you!

Frustrating 1st Car Experience

by CordovaAK on 05/26/2016

Upon arriving at Royal Moore to pay for and pick up a vehicle I had previously made a $500 deposit on, my salesman met me as he was finishing a cigarette. He led me to my car and to my dismay, proceeded to casually sit in the passenger’s seat and show me how to connect my phone to the audio system. Distracted, I was stunned and frustrated that the guy who had just finished a cigarette was now sitting in my $24,000+ brand new car. This was my first brand new vehicle and I wanted to do everything I could to keep that “fresh and clean” smell long as possible. All I could think about was how I was going to get the “cigarette smell” out of my car. I politely let him finish his explanation and quickly exited the vehicle. Hoping to test-drive my new car, I was informed that the salesman (the same one who had been smoking) needed to at least just “sit” in the backseat. Irritated at the thought of inviting more cigarette smell into my car, I skipped the driving test. As the sale progressed, the same salesman wanted to return to the car and explain some more of the features. Normally, I would have welcomed the clarifications, but the last thing I wanted was more cigarette smoke lingering in my car. I politely declined his offer, figuring I could do my best to learn it all from the manual. I understand that smoking is an employee’s personal choice, but I feel it is very unprofessional and incredibly insensitive to have a smoking employee assist a non-smoking customer in their brand new car. Why should the paying customer have to endure and be left to clean out the pungent cigarette smell of a smoking employee? Overall, for customer service incidents such as this, I was disappointed in my experience with Royal Moore and will not return in the future or recommend this dealership to friends or co-workers. Customer service is an integral part of building loyalty for any company and I believe employees’ actions, especially salesmen, directly reflect the values of their business—both good and bad. If my car were available at another dealer in the area, I would have taken back my deposit and left. ***The general manager of Royal Moore has since graciously reached out and apologized for my negative experience. Hopefully, positive changes will be made to benefit future potential buyers. ***Also, do your homework on the “Lifetime Powertrain Warranty.” I had a very difficult time finding positive reviews from customers of other dealerships who have dealt with “Fidelity Warranty Services,” who handles the warranty claims. ***On a positive note, would like to give shout-outs to the 2 outstanding employees who were the highlights of my otherwise poor experience at Royal Moore. DAN BEAUPAIN and MANNY NETTLES were not my main salesmen, but thoroughly answered questions and treated me very respectfully during my 5 visits. I cannot say enough good things about them and only wish I could have worked exclusively with them from the beginning. If you choose to visit this dealership, ask for them.

Great experience buying a BRZ

by headtrauma on 04/04/2015

Had a great experience buying a BRZ from Brandon at Royal Moore Subaru. My internet price quote was very competitive, test drive was great, and Brandon was super helpful with my first new car buying experience. Detail shop also did a great job prepping the car, and the web photos showed extra effort put in instead of just phone snaps of the car on the lot. Worth the drive down from Redmond (and the drive back up 101 was a great scenic route if you have the time).
