My wife and I just bought our 4th car from Cable VW. Every purchase experience has been positive. The most recent time we turned in a 2008 Passat on lease and purchased a 2011 Jetta. Our payments are identical, but we aren't 'renting' a car any more! The sales / finance team worked for hard to make the deal happen by giving us all they could for the trade and discounting the new car. I did extensive research on where the numbers should be so I'm pretty sure we made a fair deal. The salesman was persistent on selling the extended warranty. I listened and politely (yet firmly) said no thank you. The finance guy didn't even mention it. We did buy the gap insurance because we put 0 down, but DID NOT pay the rate Cable offered. I shopped the rate at my insurance co and was able to get the Cable price down by $170! They really wanted to beat my agent's price. Finally, at the inspection, we found a bee stuck by the back window! I simply told Cable it had to be removed by whatever means. It wasn't my problem (is what I was thinking!) They got it out. At the end of the day, we got out of the lease, a new car with free scheduled maint, and a rock bottom interest rate. I'm expecting some new car issues; they always exist. If only the service department was as good as sales! :( PS, AVOID Tammy as a service agent.
