Mysterious Drive Line Issue

It was great. I had a mysterious shudder. David Hoffman got the service tech to diagnose it. He couldn't replicate it, so David had me drive with the service tech. We did find the shudder and had a good discussion about 2 potential causes, both insignificant.

Falling Short of Expectations

I took my vehicle to the service dept and explained two specific issues I was experiencing. The following morning, I received a text message with a link to a list of items they discovered needed attention in the multi point inspection they completed. Since this was a vehicle my wife and I use daily, I expressed the need to have it back as soon as possible. The service associate said he would do the best he can to get it done by the end of the day and to give him a call if I didn’t hear from him. I called at the end of the day and he said he needed the following day to finish the work. I asked if he could have it done by midday because we needed the vehicle and he said there shouldn’t be a problem with that. When I called midday, he said it would be later in the day before it would be finished. When I call at 3:35, he said it should be done by 5 PM. When I showed up at 5:10 PM, there was still another item that they did not complete. In addition to that, one of the items that I explained needed to be looked at was never looked at and was not listed on the invoice of items they completed. While they did take 10% off the invoice for not having the vehicle ready by the end of the day, being without a vehicle for two days and not addressing both items definitely fell short of my expectations .

If I could give zero stars, I would

I am beyond livid. I went with my father to buy a car and it is unbelievable how sexist these salesmen are. The salesman only spoke with my father and refused to show me any vehicles other than the one my dad pointed out. Against my wishes, paperwork was drawn up and a price was negotiated without once consulting me even though the car would be in my name. The man even acknowledged that he knew I didn’t want the car he was selling and yet allowed my father to pressure me into signing the paperwork because all they are after is your money. When I took the car back to attempt to exchange it for something else on their lot they refused to even give me a credit in the amount paid even though I had only put 20 miles on the car. On top of all of that they promised to fix any problems the car had and detail it before I picked it up. There were dead bugs in the back seat and caked on dirt on the interior handles and steering wheel.

Found the car my wife was looking for .

After seeing some of Bob Howard's cars advertised on line at very competitive prices I called their internet sales department and was able to reach a deal over the phone . About 3 days later We closed the deal and I drove my new GMC Terrain home to Texas . It had been 8 years since we had bought a new vehicle and things have changed . The one thing that bothered me was EVERY dealer I looked at had $ 1500 to $1900 add ons on every car . I don't like buying over priced things I don't really want but all the dealers seem to do this now . However price we paid at Bob Howard was still less than I found at other dealers where I looked .
