Buying a MDX

My family and I left here feeling upset, betrayed and used. I had clearly negotiated a deal on a Acura MDX with a sales guy, including some "extra" options. Then after I signed the final papers with my "extra items" listed in writing all hell broke loose. Some "guy", that never introduced himself, (which seems common practice at this dealerships, introductions, what??). This "guy" was the person processing my down payment, he refused to agree on these extra items as part of the sale. Then it got very uncomfortable and unprofessional, we were in the open waiting area and they started discussing my deal loud and clear in front of other people, including my children, not sure who else was in that waiting area. Again, no introductions and magically everyone's name tag was removed from their shirt at the end of the day, I had no idea who was who! There might have been other customers present. Zero integrity, dishonest and no respect for customers at this dealership. I ended up buying a brand new Acura MDX from a much more pleasant and professional dealer. Thankfully, in the Cleveland area we have more than one Acura dealer. I believe everything happens for a reason and I am so happy, we did not purchase a car from Motorcars. I could never put my trust in future service appointments with Motorcars. Avoid this place, they talk a good talk but does NOT back it up when you put in writing. My 8 yr. old son was afraid of the sales people and told me on the way home: "Dad, you just got bullied by those people"!. Stay away, go elsewhere, car buying should be fun not a nightmare. I hope you consider my review helpful.

Positive Experience

My sister had bought an Acura TL and RDX from this dealership in the past, and recommended it to me. I did take a look at their certified pre-owneds, and they had a good selection of most types of vehicles to offer. I do think they were lacking in the Coupe Department, but I can understand since their last coupe was the RSX back in 2006. They did have 3 RSXs there, and I was able to take it for a test drive. The salesman was very helpful, asked me a lot of appropriate questions about financing (although we did not run the numbers, he had an approximation for what APR he could offer, and it was competitive to the other dealerships I have ran numbers with). He was quite assertive in his sales pitch, I knew he wanted to sell me anything I drove, but was careful not to be too aggressive. We also talked about my trade in, but did not get it appraised, the appraisals are good for a week after they are made, and I think I will be making my final decision in 3 months. All in all, positive experience.

Overseas Delivery Disaster

I never bought the car I intended to from this dealer. Not because of the arrogance or condescension as mentioned by another reviewer. Actually, the sales staff are pleasant enough. i was planning to purchase a new Volvo through the Overseas Delivery program. I had saved up the down payment, and had planned my honeymoon around picking up our new C30 in Sweden. My salesman told me to come in and order the car six weeks before we went to Sweden. I went to the dealer eight weeks before I wanted to pick up the car, and was told there was a slight problem: there were no more 2008 C30's available! But...I could put down an additional $2000 and order a 2009. Only problem with that- it would be 10 to 12 weeks before I could pick up the car!! My mind reeling (I had already rented a condo in Sweden for a week), I scrambled to salvage our Swedish honeymoon, but to no avail. one week later, I contacted William Marks, an online ODP specialist from California. He tells me that the Volvo factory still had 2008 C30's in stock!!! So. I never got the Volvo. but I still might--just not through Motorcars Acura Volvo. They are obviously not experts in the ODP.

Arrogant sales team

My husband and I had a very poor experience with this dealership when trying to negotiate the price on a new Acura. The salesman was very pushy and was not willing to give us any pricing information over the internet. We repeatedly told him we had test driven the vehicle and knew what we wanted. He kept the pressure tactics to get us into the dealership for a test drive. We let him know that we had obtained a price from another Acura dealership. He responded back to us by bad mouthing the other dealership and treating us like trash. We ended our dealings with this dealership and vowed to never buy a vehicle from Motorcars if this is the way they treat potential customers. I wrote a complaint letter and submitted it to the salesman's general manager as well as the owner of Motorcars. I did get a phone call from the owner and he apologized for how rude the salesman was to my husband and I. He didn't offer any discounts on the vehicle though.
