Why people hate buying cars- New Four Runner Lease

Buying a car should be a happy experience. I am 60 years old and have been in sales my entire life. I was taught by the best and learned early on that being honest is the best approach. I worked with the sales manager Bobbie. I told him that I wanted to pay no more then 500 a month. It took 3 visits and multiple phone calls to get the number to 500. It started at 649 a month. Once we actually go to the lease agreement I had to put down 4000 dollars. Initially it was 1000 down. Bobbie proceeded to tell me that the 4000 down was part of the deal and not a down payment. He also said he couldn't find the original paperwork he quoted me 1000 down. After 1 hour of continued lying he finally conceded and we worked it out. I though the worst was over but the documentation gentleman tried for 1 hour and 15 minutes to upsell me on warranties that already came with the car. It was the biggest scam I have ever seen. I declined everything offered. The documentation guy asked for future advise on how to upsell because he knew I was in sales. Appalling. I feel sorry for the unsuspecting first time costumers and elderly people that don't know any better. Hendrick's should be ashamed of themselves.

Second Tacoma Leased

I have been a customer here for two years now, the first time I came in I was helped by Daisy Mabe. She was incredibly helpful and very polite, because of that great experience I went back to her this last time. Her knowledge of the cars and genuine enthusiasm greatly helped me in making a decision to lease my second Tacoma. She is a big reason why I look forward to going back.

They tried to give me the lowest amount on my trade in, then couldn’t make the deal after I got my bank to give me more money then I even had money to put down and they wouldn’t meet me in the middle to make the deal. I drove 2 hours one way for the vehicle. Waste of my time only good thing was the sales person was nice. Over a $1700 difference lost a sale. Also they never came down on the price of the vehicle. So please don’t try to do business with this company all Hendrick dealerships are the same.

He saved me time and money and also gave me high dollar trade in allowance for my 2015 Highlander. Sales Consultant, Dharma Leggat worked with Bruce Winokur to complete the transaction in a most professional and proficient manner allowing for a very quick delivery.

I am new to the area and went into Hendrick Toyota for service on my 2015 RAV4. Joe Honeycutt was awesome and was even going to help me get out of my lease early so as not to pay over-miles charges (hopefully). As it turns out, that car was recently totaled in a car accident so when I needed a new car, of course I went to Hendrick. My chiropractor referred me to Stacey Johnson, the Sales Manager, and he was amazing. Although he put me in touch with Jim Reed to actually sell me the car, he was there every step of the way. Finally, Jim Reed and Jake Scott were wonderful working with me during the sales process and even afterward. I had an issue with my SiriusXM subscription and Jim Reed was able to solve it for me completely. I will most definitely continue to bring my car to Hendrick for service and when I am in the market for a new car, they will also get my business. Thank you for being what I always know Toyota can be!

Wished I went somewhere else

My new Rav4 was brought in from another dealer to be sold to me new. Car smelled liked burned wiring when my wife drove it home. We returned to the dealer on Sat am and was told that the other dealer had left plastic on the manifold. After the service dept looked at it, it was returned to us and we were told that the smell was normal for the limited seat covering. I wanted to return the car because it smelled so badly but was unable to. I wish I did not buy it and bought the Ford Escape instead. I have changed the cabin filter three times and used a dozen air vent fresheners and the car is begininning to smell better. Had some tire issues with low pressure and upon checking the spare, found the valve stem to be parallel with the rim and told that this was normal and the new way Toyota does this. Note that you could only use two fingers to remove cap could only turn 1/8 of a turn at a time. Was told that sales would contact me, but a month later, they have not; so much for follow up.

I have purchased 5 cars from Hendricks Toyota and have had an excellent expirence each time. My last purchase was at the end of August. I went in on a Wednesday, they found my car in Charleston and had it for me on Thursday. The salesman went out of his way to get everything done so quickly. Everyone I dealt with freindly and helpfull. They are the best.

I was extremely happy with the buying process. Naomi was great to work with and I'm very pleased with my new 2017 RAV4. This is my first SUV and it took a little getting used to compared to my Corolla, but now I wonder why I didn't do this earlier. Toyotas are great cars and I wouldn't buy anything else.

Kris, was an extremely helpful salesman. He kept looking on the lot and inventory for just the right car for my needs and budget! After two weeks, he found me just the right car, a 2012 (like new, less than 50,000 miles) Toyota Prius V! I love it it's fully loaded with all the bells and whistles I've always dreamed of having in a car but could never see myself affording! Thank you for making this dream come true for me!

This past December with over 250K on our car, we decided it was time for a new to us replacement. We looked at cars at a number of dealers in our area. I have to say we were most impressed with the selection and customer service we received at Toyota of Wilmington. Our salesman, Art Lewis could not have been more helpful. He made the entire process as stress free and easy as possible. All of the staff that we came in contact with showed a genuine desire to make sure we had the best experience possible. Plus we felt like we got a great deal.
