Our third Volvo from Karp

This is actually our third Volvo purchased from Karp Volvo. We have always had a very positive experience there and wanted to be able to do business again. I did like the fact that our salesman David Markowitz, was very calm and we never felt pressured. He asked questions, listened for an answer and made my wife and I feel comfortable that we made a right choice. Fabian, the Finance Manager, was also very friendly, and again, we were not made to feel pressured. This in particular was very important to us since we have walked away from deals in the past when dealing with Finance people that we felt were too aggressive and were more interested in padding the sale, rather than presenting the products and accepting an answer, whether it is yes or no.

Very Bad Experience

I recently leased a 2017 Volvo XC90 from this dealership. I am coming from out of state and I did make that clear to them from the onset. 1 week after taking delivery, the dealership contacted me and informed me that I had to page >$2100 for registration. This was on top of the $1,300 I paid. It's their responsibility to make sure they check the registration requirements of their customers and they obviously don't want to take that extra step and just let you get the car - then just ask for more money later on. I have dealt with dealers out of state in my prior purchases and this is something none of them tried to pull on me. It's their mistake and they just won't own up to it for any customer. Very bad business, I would not recommend dealing with them.

Our sales consultant was very helpful. He demonstrated his product knowledge across the vehicles we looked at and I feel that helped us choose the right vehicle. More importantly, he did so without being pushy or making us feel that he was trying to give us a hard sell. Great buying experience all around.

Always Helpful at Karp Volvo

This is the 3rd volvo we have bought from Karp. It is always a pleasant sales experience. I particularly like that my salesperson did not push or pressure me to buy a car the first time I went in. I made it clear that at the time I was just looking and he allowed me to look and come to my decisions without a pushy attitude that I often feel I get at other car dealerships.

From start to finish, I found the entire staff courteous and professional. I worked with Michael Kelly, I honestly didn't expect I would be walking out with a new car. Michael was incredibly attentive, he explained every question I had and made me feel truly excited to drive away with my new Volvo. I know my next car will be a Volvo and it will be a Karp Volvo.

Buyers beware

I will never do business with Karp Volvo and buys beware. The business manager and sales manager did not deliver on service, experience and customer satisfaction. I was charged a $995 acquisition fee that was not explained to me at closing. Additionally I had to come back a 2nd time to resigned the contract. I made yet another issues about the $995 Acquisition fee while at Karp to resign the contract and called Volvo Financial. Volvo Financial told me the acquisition fee is at the dealership's discretion. My further research also found that this is a BS charge and another revenue for most dealerships. Karp Volvo told me that this is a bank charge and that the $995.00 do not go to them. After speaking with John Lane the sales manager about it, he had an attitude and told me if I don't want the vehicle return it and had an agitated attitude with me. He provided no solution to resolved my issue and the very bad purchase experience I am having. I told the business manager Mr.Calib Denis that I will re-sign the contract and I will not return the Volvo XC60 over $995 over charge since they refused to take it off contract. The time and inconvenience to return the vehicle was valued more. I further told him I will never do business or recommend Karp EVER and I will let everyone know of my experience. Mr. Denis said that he was sorry and that he will find a make good for the $995 and will get back to me in a day or two. Its been over a week and no call from Mr. Denis or anyone at Karp. Mr. Karp and family if you are reading this, please know that I give your management ample opportunities to correct this and resolve my dissatisfaction. I strongly recommend you reinforce to your management and sales team the value of a happy customer, the cost of a sale, the cost if acquiring a new customer and the power of social media when service and brand expectations are not met.
