This morning my wife and I picked up our new 2010 Prius. I felt compelled to write a review, because of the fact that this is the first time I have purchased a Toyota where nothing changed from the initial negotiation. I must also say that I am a veteran when it comes to purchasing Toyotas, being that this is my sixth. I have dealt with most of the Toyota dealerships within a 50 mile radius of Brooklyn. My first Toyota was from Manhattan when it was on 57thstreet. Two of my Toyotas were purchased from the Brooklyn dealerships, one in Staten Island, and one in N.J. Each time somewhere along the process, something changed. Weather it was the price, a nasty employee, a different car when I came in to pick up...something always had to change. I promised myself that I would never return to the brand, but it seems no matter what happens (bad dealers, recalls, etc...) I can't seem to go with any other. We decided to shop three different dealers; Toyota of Manhattan was not one of them. One after another, each experience got worse (Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens). Finally, against my best judgment, we decided to go for a Nissan. My wife works in Manhattan, so we wound up at Manhattan Nissan looking for a Leaf, not realizing that the Leaf was not out yet. Then I found out that the Leaf only lasts about three hours on a full charge, and tops out at 45mph before you really start to loose the charge, and pray that you don't need to drive uphill. Toyota of Manhattan was directly across the street, we couldn't resist. Here we go again! We entered the dealership, and we were approached by a young lady with a huge smile. She asked if we had an appointment, we said no. She immediately paged for a salesperson, within about 4 seconds we were greeted by a young man named Eric. His non-pushy approach was a relief. He showed us the Prius and had an answer for every question my wife and I asked. He then took a car off of the showroom for us to test drive. I have never seen such teamwork, 4 other salespeople came to assist him in seconds. What we thought would take an hour to achieve, they did in 5 minutes. In the meantime the young lady (I wish I remembered her name) brought us coffee and water. We agreed on a price signed the buyers order, and this was where we figured the crap would start. Guess did not. The entire process was so smooth and painless. The manager that finished the paperwork was amazing. No pushing to buy unnecessary insurance, or other B.S. items. Everything was seamless, and exactly what we agreed on. The car was perfect, the salesperson was extremely attentive, and the entire staff was superb. What a difference from when they were at the other location. Kudos to the management, what a change! Shop around if you need to, but don't buy till you see these guys.
