Awesome & Fun Experience at a Car Dealer

I had a very pleasant experience purchasing my latest vehicle at Northstar. Being a very indecisive person, Jillian was the absolute best sales person to work with. I am not a practical man but did not feel pushed or pulled in any direction and she allowed me to make my vehicle selection with absolute no pressure. I took two days which felt great as nothing worse then to not feel like you can't walk away to decide. Jillian communicated with me entire way, got both cars ready for me to decide and after the process, I walked away with great family vehicle (2016 Nissan Murano) that I absolute love. Definitely would return here and refer friends to purchase vehicle with this team!

Bad sales tactics

I found a used car on truecar that I wanted. I inquired about the car through truecar's website. I recieved a call the following morning from a call center to schedule a appointment. I called northstar to double check availability and price because I informed them I was 2 hours away. I arrive at the dealership, test drive the car then sat down to discuss numbers. As it unfortunately happens too often this is were it all went south. No one appreciates being lied too nor treated like this is their first time buying a car. First thing they say is that true cars price was with $2500 down, so the price just went up $2500, when I explained how silly that sounded and told him I had the true car certificate in my email he said he will check with his manager. Salesman comes back and said they will honor the online price but I have to buy a aftermarket powertrain warranty for $2500. I explained I had no interest in a warranty, he goes back to his manager and returned to say it was already in place so I had no choice. I explained to him I did not appreciate being lied too and that I was pretty sure a aftermarket warranty with multiple packages would have to be purchased by the customer not set up pre purchase by the dealer. Either case I wasted 4 hours of driving because they could not be honest.and transparent.

Internet Pricing missing other charges

We visit this location for use vehicle. The 3 stars is for car quality and great courtesy. I enjoyed talking to them and initial visit. Unfortunately, there was no mention of mandatory & somewhat expensive additional warranty. In addition, I was told their Internet pricing is via financing. So if you are committed to buy from them. I strongly recommend you bring your own financing or do your finance homework. I offer cash, check both declined. Again, the cars I saw were in fantastic shape.

Absolute worst car buying expereince ever!!!

Absolutely the worst car buying experience I've ever had. Knew which car I wanted. Went to the dealership. Sales person (refereed to here as [non-permissible content removed]), showed me the car. Was more interested in making small talk and could not answer many questions about the car or the buying process. Assured me I would get the internet price for the car and that there are no added fees (besides the usual registration etc fees) and that I could use my own financing to get the internet price. Go inside to finalize the sale. Immediately with the internet pricing they add on an extended warranty to the car that costs $2000 and I must get this to get the internet pricing. Later on I find out that this "extended warranty" is a NIADA certified protection and must be included with NIADA used car sales and there is really no purchasing this protection. This was emphasized by the fact that on the invoice this does not show up as an additional charge but is included in the price of the car. The "extended warranty" brings the total cost close to what I expected to pay for the car before taxes so I proceed with the sale. Next the finance guy comes out and says that they cannot give me the car at that price with my own financing and that they will have to add in an additional $200-$400 if I do not finance with them. They promise to match my financing rate, so again I proceed with the sale they do get me the same rate. By this time I'm noticing the finance guy is getting very arrogant with his attitude. I tell them I can pick up the car next Sunday. The finance guy says I need to pick it up tomorrow and that that he will get me a half a point (.5%) reduction in my interest rate. I agree to make the sacrifice to come in the next day. Make it clear that I will be transferring my plates. Go in the next day to pick up car. The arrogant finance guy gives us a hard time because we ask lot of questions and refuse to electronically sign papers before seeing what the papers entail. Finally see the financed interest rate and it is not a half point lower as promised but only .1%. The arrogant finance guy says he promised to TRY to get .5%. I know he is lying because the previous day the manager said to match my own financing rate is hard, so there was no way he could have gotten .5% lower rate, he just wanted the car off his lot. Finance guy keeps trying to get us to purchase and extended warranty (in addition to the NIADA warranty). At this point I have no more tolerance for his foolishness because he thinks I'm dumb (the car is still under the manufacturers warranty). Now despite walking into the dealership with my plates that needed to be transferred, and sitting right opposite him, he gave the dumb car sales man new plates to put on the car. The [non-permissible content removed] puts the plates on the car despite him commenting and holding the plates to the transferred when we had first walked in. I asked [non-permissible content removed] if I will be getting a refund for the cost of the new plates since they had apparently included that in the total invoice. At this point because [non-permissible content removed] doesn't have an answer to anything, he begins to sweat and stutter. He takes the wrong plates back in and come out and tells us that I need to come back Wednesday to change the temporary registration sticker because they were out and they had to use one form another dealership. At this point I'm so annoyed because they make me come back the next day to pick up the car and they don't have the correct registration sticker, and now I have to come back in two days to get the correct one. When asked about it, they have no response. I go back on Wednesday and they still did not have the correct temporary registration and end up going back on Sunday for a third time. Promised to make a second key for which I would pay. Next day say they cant do it. They lost out on a 2nd car sale and repeat customer because of their deceptive switch and bait, thievery and incompetence.

STAY AWAY!!

STAY AWAY!!!!! Horrible experience!! wish I would of searched more into reviews before making my purchase. Once they sell you the car and take your money they want nothing to do with you. Communication is non existent after purchase. Also The price they sell the car for doesn't include the warranty of 4 grand that is MANDATORY to purchase if you want the vehicle. They have ignored my calls/emails telling me they will call me back and leave a message for the "manager" and then no one contacts me. I needed to know basic information regarding my vehicles history that no one can seem to answer. The best part is the brakes on the vehicle are squeaking and seem to have a problem with the car only a week after driving it. I am now going to contact the BBB regarding this issue to see if i can resolve this problem.

I had a beautiful time. I got the price I wanted, happy with the people especially my sales person Angel. My daughter and son are looking to change cars so I will recommend them to come to NorthStar. The boss Leo made me feel comfortable. Karina made me feel very welcomed as well. I will come back again.

I recently purchased a 2011 BMW X5. The entire purchase process from beginning to end was efficient and seamless from NorthStar Auto. Jon and the finance manager Jason were pleasant and very easy to work with, and we would highly recommend anyone in the market for a used vehicle to check out this dealership.

I came to North Star Auto Sales after being denied at Major World across the street. The salesman John was very helpful and reassuring as well as the finance manager Jason. I am very happy and satisfied with the transaction. I came in with my down payment which was not much but they did work with me and I won't let you down. Thank you! NORTHSTAR AUTO SALES!! I will definitely recommend! And Karina at the front desk is the sweetest!!

Avoid if you can

The price online is not the actual price. They want you to finance with them. I went there with cash and a price in mind and Arthur basically said Finance with us or no deal. The total price if I financed after he added his bogus fees would have been the same as paying already high sticker prices

AVOID AT ALL COST (Worst car dealership)

The price online is not the actual price, they are asking for a price that is well over the market price. The sales guy working there are really rude, unprofessional and un-hospitable. The sale guy that was talking to me was acting like [non-permissible content removed]. This dealership wouldn't cut a deal with you, in other word they not negotiable. Going to this place is a waste of you time, when you can find the same car for a much lower price on other car dealerships like honda, toyota, and etc. I would give this place ZERO STARS out of the five stars if i could

After searching for the car I wanted for about 2 weeks. I finally came across Northstar on edmunds.com, they had the car I was looking for. When I showed up At Northstar I was really impressed, they have a beautiful showroom and many cars, I didn't expect that from a used car lot. Arthur my sales person was great he was very calm and not pushy like other places I went to and Leo the finance manager got me a great deal on my payments. I felt really comfortable doing business with these guys, I would really recommend people there.

[non-permissible content removed] . Scammed me big time. Never received warranty coverage i still owe thousands to the bank for, not to mention repair bills. They do not hesitate to make their own handwritten corrections to typed paperwork after a purchase anyways. I wouldn't believe a single word what they tell you that you are buying. They actually forged a signature... cannot add anymore details as I will be taking legal action against them. I'll probably get a follow up comment on here as potential buyers need to be aware and I am sharing what they have done to me - yes I'm sure this is the correct dealer I have the paperwork in front of me and I'm not calling anymore because if its not... busy with a customer, out to lunch, not in, out sick, left early, messages are pointless... either they know its way past that level when other agencies have been involved so its more of their deceit surfacing hoping my statement doesn't deter future victims. Love the car though, one of their best offerings right in the showroom... just wouldve been nice if I agreed to what I've financially obligated to now, which is nearing $10k to date. What they did was illegal, I can't even say beware this needs to be 100% AVOID!
