untruthful

I went in to put a deposit on a 2022 4Runner and they said that they had one on the lot. The salesman showed it to me and I said that I would take it. I was told that there was a person who had put a deposit down on this vehicle and they were coming in in 30 minutes and if they didn't take it I could have it. I left the dealership and was told that they would call later that day to let me know. I didn't get a call so I called the next day and was told that the 4Runner was sold, implying that the person had come in and bought it. I found out the next day that I had been lied to. They sold the vehicle to another person. The original buyer backed out and they called someone else and sold it to them. What they didn't realize was the person they sold it to was a friend of mine. When I asked about their reasoning I was told that they needed their trade, which was total BS, as they had about twenty of the same vehicles on their lot. I feel like I was deceived........

A better fit?

My second new Toyota truck/suv purchase, closed by Clay Schroff, was the worst big item, tangible investment I ever made. Make sure the vehicle you test drive and agree upon is exactly the same as the one signed for and delivered. Duh! Not only did I receive a different 4Runner than anticipated, but I also ended up overpaying due to the change. Was informed at a later date the one received was “a better fit.”

Oil change & unexpected tire change

Went in for standard 5000 mile warranty oil change. Found a non-repairable tire but had to go off site to get it. Dealership provided a ride home and a call when the car was ready. Very happy with our experience.

American Touota

The service on my Prius was was very well and without difficulty. I was informed of any possible future concerns and of a recommended procedures. They handled my airbag recall without any charges and corrected the problem. I was treated with dignity and kindness.

Sales personnel were honest and straight forward in answering any and all questions. She was very interested in the people they served and did everything to make the sales positive and affordable. Exceptional Sales Service

My husband and I bought a new truck from American Toyota two years ago and were very impressed with the sales person then. We came back two weeks ago and bought a new car from the same sales associate and had another great experience. She even remembered the model and color of the car I wanted to get two years ago and found a 2017 that fit my dreams. We got a great deal on our new car and were very pleased with the whole process.

Happy with brand new 2017 Highlander

I went through Costco auto buying program and my contact at LHM was Dustin Messex. He ordered the 2017 Highlander in October and I took delivery early December. It all went very smoothly and Dustin was a joy to work with. A minor service issue cropped up and Richard Guyer in the service department got it resolved very quickly. Great Team

My wife and I went into the dealership looking for a good deal on a 2016 Tacoma since the 2017s are arriving. Mike Nguyen took us around the lots showing us some of what was available including the 2016 Certified Pre Owned Tacomas. None of what we saw were exactly what we were looking for. Nevertheless, he let us test drive one of the Certified Used Tacomas anyway. During the test drive he explained the features of and differences between the different Tacoma variations. We were very impressed with Mike and the one we test drove but it still wasn't exactly what we were looking for. After the test drive we went back inside the show room and Mike searched the inventory to see if he could find exactly what we wanted based on what he learned from us in the lot and test drive. While we were in the show room Mike introduced us to Clay Schroff, the Sales Floor Manager, to discuss our wishes with him. Mike and Clay working together were able to come up with one very close to what we were looking for and in some ways even better. On top of that, since it was a 2016 they were able to offer it to us at a very good price. There was no high pressure sales, just a desire to help us find what we needed at a price that we were willing to pay. We were then sent to the finance guy where I fully expected high pressure to buy additional services that I did not want and have NEVER purchased before. Instead we were treated to a very pleasant experience where Matias Cordova treated my desire not to purchase additional services with respect and with no argument. He did take the time to explain what the benefits and costs were so I could make an educated decision. This respect and lack of high pressure took me aback so I seriously considered what he had to offer and ended up purchasing extended services that I have never purchased before. My wife and I are blessed to have had the opportunity to buy many new cars over the years and this was by far the best new car buying experience we have ever had. I can highly recommend Mike, Clay, Matias, and by extension Larry H Miller American Toyota as a result.

Unethical Add Ons

Larry H Miller car dealerships will add on a number of insurance charges and extras. Don't be fooled. Refuse to pay for it or walk out the door. Why didn't I read reviews first.

Would Recommend, Especially via Internet

Let me first say, I hate buying cars. I'm in my 40's and have bought many, many and it's always a hassle and a game I don't enjoy. BUT, this was a very easy process buying a new Sequoia. I got a quote online via this website. I asked for a slightly better price because I wanted them to match someone else's price and it was matched within minutes. Julie was very nice and just treated me like a person. No games. There were a couple of paperwork glitches, but were easily fixed. I didn't have to even talk to the finance manager. She got me a great rate and delivered the car to me over an hour away. (I don't like going to dealerships). Ok, she got lost and took over 2 and a half hours to finally get here but that's just human error. The deal itself was very painless and I got a great price inline with Edmund's recommended price. Would definately deal with them again.

Wouldn't recommend to worst enemy!

My husband and I went in to look at a used Mini Cooper they had on their lot. Matise, the salesman found their was another one in the back that had been taken in the day prior. It hadn't even been washed yet. We asked how much Matise said $12,000 (this particular one blue booked at $17,900, so we were very interested). We inquired about the broken windshield, and he assured us they would repair that at no additional charge. We test drove the car and loved it. We knew it would clean up nicely. We had no trade in as we were buying our second car. My husband and I had always privately financed, but checked with our bank and were told that yes, we would qualify for financing through our credit union at 3% APR. This was the first time we had ever purchased from a dealer. Matise brought over the finance guy. They assured me that my salesman had made a mistake on the price because it was actually $13,000. (That is still a great price for the car, so we agreed.) Then they told us that they would not pay for the windshield to be replaced at that price, it would be an additional $300. After some complaining, etc we agreed and told them we would be back tomorrow with a note from our Credit Union. Financing guy says, we can get you financed here through your credit union, insisted on it. Came back with a 9.75% APR. My husband really wanted the mini, and even with that we are still under the blue book value of the car, I begrudgingly signed the paperwork for the car and got the $5,000 down payment check. The car was taken back to be detailed. They didn't even vacume the rear floor boards. That didn't really phase me because I know how to clean a car well, and I knew I'd do a better job than them anyways. It was surprising when I received a phone call a week and a half later from Chase financial asking me to correct or verify my references. (I was livid! Chase lends predatorially and this was supposed to be through my bank!) I asked them about the two references I gave to the dealership, they said they had 4 from me. The first two they were able to verify, the last two they could not. I asked who else they had, they told me the names, I was shocked. I didn't know these people. I asked my husband, he said he didn't give any references to the dealership. I asked it the handwriting was the same from the first two, to the last two references. It was not. I asked where they got that information from and was told the dealership turned over the references. In the end we discovered that someone in the financing department had fraudulently put down 2 references from the phone book! We went down the next day to the credit union where we were told we would have to go back to the dealership to get the note transferred. We did and confronted them about the fraud and shady practices. They denied putting the references in fraudulently and insisted that I must have given Chase those references. We got the note changed, but not without some difficulty (but 6.75% APR is worth the battle.) I would never buy a car from them again, I tell everyone I know not to buy a car. We have already placed a grievance with the consumer protection agency for the fraud.
