What an awful experience. I found this dealer through Edmunds.com when I was searching for a Mercury Mountaineer. I found a 2010 Mountaineer that seemed in great working order at first. On the day I brought the car to a local AAA recommended mechanic I noticed something looked very wrong with the tires on the drivers side. The car fax reported an accident to the side of the vehicle which did not cause structural damage to the vehicle, however I discovered the wheels on the driver's side were badly damaged. The metal rims were digging into the tires. When I brought the vehicle to the mechanic to inspect the vehicle the mechanic refused to take the car around the block for a test drive in his own neighborhood. The car was red flagged as too dangerous and a hazard to drive on the road. The dealers policy is a nonrefundable five hundred dollar down payment on the car, which seems absolutely ridiculous since the front and side wheels need to be replaced. My co-signer and I are considering taking this to court because this is simply bad business, and I would not recommend this dealer again. The service was lousy as well. The driver who took the car to the mechanic called me 'honey' when he spoke about his Harley Davidsons (I was trying to be polite making small talk), and offered no follow up service after this whole experience. I reported this to the sales person who was covering who our normal sales person, and the whole complaint was not passed along to the assigned sales person. I returned to Edmunds.com to find another vehicle, and I have found a better dealer with incredibly service and much better business practice. My cosigner and I are still determining how we are going to get the down payment back for such awful service. The stereotype that used car dealerships are awful turned out to be true in this case. I don't recommend this dealership. They sit back and put in no effort to be professional sales people.
