Purchased a certified pre owned Acura RDX

I just purchased the Acura RDX. My entire experience with the purchase was excellent. The senior sales consultant Michael Young took great care of me. He never rushed me, or tried to sway me into getting something that wasn't right for me. It took his time with me, answered all my questions and really helped me pick out the perfect car for all my needs. It was a pleasure dealing with him. I would recommend strongly the Open Road Acura East Brunswick Dealer and Michael. Thank you very much.

Worst experience

Had the worst experience with Open road Acura. Looking for certified pre owns, got a call from the sales person at 1:58PM saying that they are ok with the price we were working on but I will have to close the deal today. When went there in the evening, they added $700 to the price stating that certification cost was missed earlier and we are just charging that. Very unprofessional, just for the $700 lost credibity, would hesitate to try any open road dealers in the future.

Purchased of Certified Preowned vehicle

Recently purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from Open Road Acura of East Brunswick and this was the most pleasant and professional dealership that I visited. The personnel were extremely helpful and made the whole purchase very easy. Had a couple of problems with the car and they were overly helpful to resolve and fix. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone and will purchase another vehicle from them. The GM, Scott, was very concerned and called several times to ensure we were completely satisfied. Did visit other dealership and no one was as easy to deal with compared to this dealership.

Great Buying Experience

One of the best experiences I have had purchasing a vehicle. Everyone I met was very customer focused, showed a sincere concern to make sure we were satisfied with the deal we made. Sales Assoc - Amr Hashem, Svc Mgr - Jonathan, GM - Scott Harvey were all very patient before, during and after negotiations. Sales Mgr - Steve Flastev was personally involved in the negotiations and gave us a great deal. And a very special thanks to my go-to guy, Svc Tech, Ed Mossa, who patiently addressed concerns I had about the new transmission and gave me an overview of changes Acura made in that regard. All-in-all a great experience... and I love my new TLX.

i was recently at the dealership, just looking around, the salesman came righ over to me and i explaind to him i was just looking and wouldnt be buying for a few month and he still spent almost an hour with me showing me many different models and options. if i decide to go with an acura i will most definitely use this dealership

Just wanna say I had a great experience dealing with tony in sales never once was i pressured in doing a deal without knowing everything I had to know before doing any kind of deal it was step by step nice and smooth never had any problem he always answered all my questions I will never hesitate to do another deal with tony good guy.... Also Tarak in finance also did a great job getting me a great deal on a loan

I ended up purchasing a car that day and I am very satisfied with my new ILX. It was definitely my best car shopping experience ever. I just purchased a new Acura TLX. My sales representative John Genovese made my wife and I feel at ease immediately. Dealing with Mr. Genovese was a pleasure. No hard sell, just a feeling that he really cares about his customer. He was extremely patient and answered every question we had. Kind of like dealing with your favorite uncle. We got a good deal with none of the back and forth which is the usual car buying experience. Everyone at the dealership itself was very friendly. We were even introduced to the manager of the service department. A great car buying experience.

Very pleased with a used car transaction

I was looking to purchase a used Mazdaspeed3 and came across one at Open Road Acura. Since the car was newer with low miles and in great condition, and had been listed already for a full month, I was highly suspicious going into the sale, as this indicated to me that other buyers had likely come and gone. Additionally, the dealership had originally priced the vehicle $1k above the high end of the KBB fair market dealer value range, so I was worried that they had an unrealistic idea of what the car was worth. I was very pleasantly surprised by the whole process. The salesman, Tarak, had the patience of a saint, very relaxed, and not overly pushy. I wasn't questioned at all when I asked to take the vehicle for a test drive (some dealerships have a thing about customers test driving sports cars), and given a nice long drive with ample time to log data from the vehicle's OBD port and look over the car. Failing to find anything wrong with the vehicle, and noting that the reconditioning work performed was good, we successfully negotiated what was in my opinion a very fair price on the vehicle. Here's where I was really impressed. I stated up front that I wanted to finance it through a third party. I also told them that I was interested in getting a warranty through a third party. They went ahead and ran my credit and made a surprisingly appealing offer. I told them I still wanted to investigate financing and warrantying through the third party. They said that I could go get a loan and bring it with me the next day and they would hold the car for me. They also said I was more than welcome to call the third party and get an offer on the spot...so, I did, and they literally waited while I called, which took over a half hour thanks to said third party's horrible freaking phone system. I discovered a problem with the third party's program that was not to my liking, and ended up financing through the dealership. They let me store my old car at their dealership and take the car I purchased home with me. Not yet satisfied, I immediately took the vehicle to my shop the next day in my home state (PA) and paid for a full inspection and told them to basically check everything because I had no knowledge of the vehicle's history. I was relieved to find that everything was as the dealer said it would be. All of the fluids were brand new and everything was in excellent shape. Overall, I was very pleased with my transaction with Open Road Acura. Even though I was buying a used sub-$20k compact, they took the sale seriously and were very respectful and patient throughout the process. The only real knock I can give them is that the carpet in the driver's area still has road salt in it from the previous owner, which I must now pay a detailer to spot clean, however, it's relatively inexpensive and minor, and I don't count this against them because the rest of the reconditioning was more thorough than average, and literally the only thing the car needed the day I picked it up was a rear wiper blade and a driver.

Great deal, horrid customer service after the sale

First the positive: The salesman Michael Y. was great; didn't even feel like I was talking to a salesmen. We had a very friendly and professional back and forth conversation and we finally agreed on price. The purchase price for the vehicle was way below what it should have sold for and they gave me a very fair price for my trade. Sounds like a win/win, right? Nope! Now the negative: I was supposed to receive a check back for my trade as we only applied a portion of the trade allowance towards the purchase price. They failed to give me a check and I actually forgot to ask for it when I completed the transaction. I called the dealership the next AM, the salesman had a day off so I was put through to the sales mgr. She told me the deal didn't make it up to accounting yet because it needed a signature by Michael P., Used Car Mgr., but he will be in at 12. Once he comes in he will sign and accounting will issue the check. That was reasonable. Later that afternoon I get a call from Mike P. telling me I can not get a check because they are waiting to get funded from the bank on my purchase plus they haven't sold my trade either. I told him I was never told that by either the salesman or the F & I guy, and the sales Mgr. told me that morning that I will get a check cut when he comes in. Mike P. proceeded to argue and get a bit agitated, he said their policy is to wait until they get funded and it can take a week or more. We went back and forth on this as I tried explaining this was not previously explained. He then got loud and told me the only reason they did the deal was because he was trying to get one more unit sold to close out July, I believe for some bonus or incentives based on unit volume. But by the time I picked up the car they had already closed the books for July so there was no incentive anymore to do the deal; therefore he repeatedly told me to bring the car back! This made no sense, I already signed and drove, I never forced them to do the deal. Sounds like they made a bad deal and he was trying to back out; but it was a little too late. We hung up and Mike P. said he will call me back; which he did and at that time he agreed to cut a check the next day as he verified I was mis-informed and he will brake policy and issue a check prior to getting funded. I thanked him, even though he was rude and unprofessional, I just wanted my check and hung up. Problem resolved right? Nope! The next day Mike P. calls my cell phone and starts yelling at me accusing of me making numerous calls that day to the dealership harassing various people. I tried explaining I didn't make any calls, he was getting inaccurate information. We went back and forth a few minutes and then he just abruptly hung up. 15 minutes later I got a call from the salesman telling me they will overnight my check. I thanked the salesman, especially being he was great through the entire process figuring I would receive the check the next day as promised. Sounds resolved? Not a chance! Next day I never receive a package; no check, no plates; even worse, not even a courtesy call from anyone with the dealership. I emailed Michael M., COO of Open Road, he quickly responded apologizing and said he will be back to me quickly after he spoke with all involved. Still waiting for the follow-up as heard nothing!

2015 MDX AWD with Tech - Thanks Tarak

We put 141K miles on our 2006 RL and it was still going strong until a few weeks ago when a bad storm put a falling tree in our path. The Acura was totaled but kept my husband safe. After some research we decided on an MDX. Got some quotes from other Acura dealers and then contacted Open Road Acura of EB where we originally purchased the RL (and closest dealer to our home) and they matched the lowest price we were quoted. The paperwork was easy and before we knew it we had the keys to our 2015 MDX with AWD and Tech package. Our salesman was Tarak M, and even though he was only on the job there for two days he made sure everything was right. He came in early on his scheduled day off to go over the features of the tech package and hand us the keys. The other salesmen there were also very nice and chatted with us as well.

Great Dealership

I've been to many dealerships in the past and they all have the same thing, going back and forth between the sales rep and the manager in price negotiation. Open Road Acura is the execption to this. This was the most pleasant buying experience I ever had. The dealership is clean and they treat you with respect. The gentleman who took care of me is John G. There aren't many car sales rep like him and there aren't many dealerships like this one. Kudos to Mr. P. and his sales team! I highly recommend it

Dealer did not give online quote and was rude on phone

Dealer has refused to give online quote. Instead insisted on phone call. Randi Internet sales person was very rude and was asking for the price I got from other dealers. Based on price quote from our dealers she wanted to confirm whether they can match As per her this dealership have policy to not to provide any online quote Not sure why participate with Edmunds for online quote if they doen have policy

2014 Acura MDX-AWD

About two years ago, we purchased a Acura TSX Sports Wagon at Open Road and had a very pleasant experience. When we had a second kid, we decided to trade in the TSX for a 2014 Acura MDX-AWD. Naturally, we went back to Open Road. The sales consultant we previously worked with and liked a lot was no longer at the dealership. We got to work with Antonella Z. this time. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. She was reasonable throughout the negotiating process and tried to get us the best price possible. We were very pleased with the whole purchasing experience once again. Also, later, when I couldn't locate the lower anchors for the LATCH system for the car seats (I thought they were missing!), Antonella responded right away to my call and patiently walked me through locating the anchors in the midst of me throwing a hissy fit! Would definitely recommend checking out Open Road to anyone interested in Acura.

Mike Y. was both knowledgeable about Acura product offerings and a good listener in discerning my requirements. In fact, our discussion focused, primarily, around my expectations in buying a new car rather than the typical hard push to sell a car. New 2013 TL SH-AWD

I have just took delivery of a 2013 TL SH-AWD from Open Road Acura East Brunswick, NJ. This is my second lease and my family's sixth vehicle purchase/lease from Open Road. All six times the sales staff has treated us professionally and courteously. The sales team is wonderful and lives up to every transaction from the price to the terms. Definitely stop in to buy/lease your next Acura. You will not be disappointed. Don't forget the service department. I have used them many times for routine service and never had an issue.
