Exceptional Experience Getting a New Chevy

by gotanewchevy on 02/23/2024

I recently leased a new car from McGee dealership, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment I stepped into the dealership, I was greeted warmly by the staff, and the exceptional service continued throughout the entire process. At the time, I was not planning to own a Chevy and had almost closed a deal on a Toyota. However, Aaron, my salesperson at McGee, provided such outstanding service and presented me with an enticing offer that I couldn't refuse. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely committed to helping me find the perfect car to fit my needs and budget. The sales team at McGee dealership was remarkable. They took the time to understand my preferences and provided valuable insights to guide my decision-making process without any pressure. The dealership's inventory was impressive, offering a wide selection of vehicles to choose from, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The entire leasing process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the professionalism and expertise of the staff. Moreover, the financing department at McGee dealership made the leasing process hassle-free by offering competitive rates and working diligently to find the best financing options for me. They were transparent about all costs involved and patiently answered all my questions, ensuring that I felt confident and informed every step of the way. Overall, my experience at McGee dealership exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend them to anyone in the market for a new car. Their exceptional customer service, extensive inventory, and commitment to customer satisfaction set them apart from other dealerships. I look forward to returning to McGee for all my future automotive needs.

Do not buy from McGee

by sgfischer08 on 01/15/2023

Josh Melo and Jesse Morro can not be trusted. They lied to me, changed prices of vehicles (thank goodness I took a screen shot and have proof of their deceit). This taking place after they sold me a car with a defect and trying to trade it in. Service well aware of the issue with new Equinox models.

Very rude sales manager

by Keh_213 on 05/03/2018

Very rude sales manager. Test drove a car and the breaks sounded funny. Was told if I wanted to get them fixed I would have to put a deposit down. When I said I was not interested in the SUV the manager rudely stormed off. Salesman was very nice and apologized.

Waste of time

by Dkellylmt on 04/09/2018

My sister and I had a horrible experience at McGee. We came in looking for a specific car, priced online for ~$15,500. They had us test drive the exact same car, but tried to sell it to us for ~$10,000 more. We told them the amount we could pay monthly and didn’t have a down payment, just a trade in. They came out with an offer of +$200 above what we could afford monthly. Like really?? Are you deaf?? We sat there for 5 hours waiting for them to “run the numbers”. We finally had enough and said we’d leave to think about the newest offer. Asked for the keys back to our car we drove there in.... and no one could find the keys. Are you serious?? First they were just misplaced, then they were accidentally taken by the person who looked it over earlier and they were on break. Then after waiting a half hour for them to come back from break, they weren’t back yet, they had apparently gone to Walmart down the street and would be back soon. They suggested while we were waiting that they crunch more numbers for us. My sister left and walked across to another dealership, while I waited for the guy to come back from Walmart with the keys. Almost an hour later, my original sales rep, who has been standing in the finance room yuking it up with other sales people, pulls the [non-permissible content removed] keys out of his pocket and comes over like, are these the keys? WHAT?!? I grabbed them from him and took off. Unbelievable. They held us [non-permissible content removed] hostage. DON’T GO THERE!! They will jerk you around and waste your time. The sales people are “so nice”, but the finance people are [non-permissible content removed] that jerk you around and waste your time “working the numbers”.

Buyer beware

by Helppeople on 11/04/2017

If you are as foolish as I was to do business with this dealership please, please double check all the numbers. They are very deceptive and dishonest on trade in value of your car, money taken off of their car, actual car they are delivering to you, even double check payment and interest rate sales person tells you against what is actually on the paperwork you sign. What ever you do, DO NOT give them a deposit for anything. That is how I got forced into completing a deal with this dealership. Just to be clear I am very, very happy with the Chevy product I purchased, just buy it someplace else.

***You'll do better anywhere else***

by Kiran_S on 09/05/2017

The dealer was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and had a good price. I ended purchasing the car. However within a day of taking possession I noticed issues with the car. I had to escalate every little thing to a manager to get attention. They fixed one issue with heat shield which was causing lot of noise but continue to refuse to address the issue with sunroof which does not operate. They categorized it as a cosmetic issue and insisted I pay for repairs. Now tell me if I purchase a car from a dealer and within 2 weeks find out a major functionality does not work and the dealer refuses to take responsibility what does it say about their integrity and reputation. I have made numerous good faith attempts to resolve this issue and have agreed to pay for part of the repairs but so far they are not even returning my calls. I found out later that they sold me a car with pending factory recalls which were over a year old. When I brought it to their attention, they dismissed me saying since they were not a Nissan dealer, they were not concerned about such trivial matter. Go Figure, they were praising themselves as very concerned about customers & their safety. During the Sales, they promised on how they pride themselves on their service and that they stand behind all their products & take care of any/all issues. But once you sign the contract, you are just in their history and they don't care about your issues anymore. Onto the next unsuspecting victim. I strongly recommend that you take your business to another dealer who knows how to treat their customers.

BUYERS BEWARE** DONT LEAVE MONEY

by nclark1238 on 06/30/2017

***BUYERS BEWARE*** McGee pushes over and over when negotiating prices on used cars for a deposit. After leaving a deposit and not applying the deposit to principal it seems the will not choose to refund your deposit. I have tried writing emails to McGee upper management contacing my salesman directly and calling/visiting the store with no success. Not sure if this is part of some bigger scam for you to forget and them to keep your money or not but thats where it will feel like it is going. I am going on approx. 2 weeks since purchasing the car and have been told twice that my deposit will be going back into my bank in a few days. DO NOT LEAVE ANY MONEY WITH THEM YOU WILL NOT GET IT BACK****

2015 Silverado 1500

by KAguiar on 01/06/2017

Went to McGee Chevrolet looking for a 2015 Silverado 1500. The sales associate Brandon made sure he showed me everything they had before sitting me down to talk pricing. He wanted to make sure I really found what is was that I was looking for before making the sale. Once we sat down Brian, the sales manager, was very reasonable in his negotiating. We found a number that worked for both myself and McGee Chevrolet. Even after there was a slight error found after the truck was purchased they made sure that it was resolved in a timely manor. They also made sure that I was 100% happy with their resolution to the problem. I would absolutely do business with them again.

Bait and Switch

by Marshvegas on 12/30/2016

Stay away from this dealership and service department. I just spent the past 4 days dealing with their service department on a car I purchased from them about a year ago. I dropped the car off on Monday which had to be towed there and after they told me that nothing was covered by the extended warranty that was wrong with the car. They quoted a price of $350 to do the work. They then called me back two days later to explain another part needed to be replaced. I asked how much in total to fix the car and I was told $650 for all the work. I asked several times when I spoke to the service guy Ed if the cost was still $650. On 4 separate occasions Ed said yes the total is still $650. On the 4th day they had the car Ed called me and told me the car was ready and we could pick it up. I asked again is the total $650 and he said yes. So I sent my son down to pick up the car with the money. As my son walked into the service department Ed calls me and tells me the total is $1000. I had fallen for a bait and switch and had no choice but to pay it as my son needed his car back. To say these people screwed me is an understatement. Bad business.

Stay Away

by HazMat1 on 10/29/2016

Worst experience ever. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Many, many problems with trying to purchase a Silverado. Not meeting advertised price, high pressure, holding keys of possible trade in and the ultimate was basically being told I was lying (not getting into it) when I tried leaving. Please for your own good - STAY AWAY

don't waste your time.

by hank1001 on 03/20/2016

I bought my wife's car her 2 years ago, and thought this place was great. Fast forward two years and I am back buying myself a car. I have never been so pressured into buying something. When I first went there I told them what my price range was, they said the have nothing for me in that range. So we left. Later that night I get a call from the salesman telling me he has talked to the manger and he has a car for me can i come in tomorrow? So my wife and I go in with our 6 month old. here is where things went down hill. When the call came in I was told he had a 2013 chevy malibu ltz fully loaded with 40k on it for around $200 a month. When we got there and the salesman pulled up with car, it was indeed a 2013 malibu, however it was not an ltz was not fully loaded and did not have 40k. My wife I decide to talk price thinking we can get it lower because it is not what they said it was. Boy was I wrong, they came back at $383 a month. After fighting with them and trying to walk out which they stand in your way of the door, we got it for what we wanted. In the next two weeks the car has been back to the service department a total of six times. And problem still exist. I have filed a case with consumer affairs. The service department was anything but helpful. The service manger should not be a manger. He is the rudest person I have ever had to deal with. He gives you attitude, rolls his eyes at you basically thinks your stupid. There is way to much competition on that street for them to act that way. Very disappointing for being a repeat customer. After being back six times for the same defect, and they can't fix it the car it is a lemon. I will be fighting this until the very end.

A place to avoid at all costs

by ECordero on 03/17/2016

What initially seemed like a very good experience that would take us back to this dealer when it is time to replace my girlfriend's car, later turned out in a very sour and frustrating experience that I can only call it in two ways, either I bought a severely overpriced car or I was ripped off. They ended up charging me $2.6K over the price we agreed. They treat you nice at the beginning, but once you sign the papers, you can forget about it. The salesman was Jason Brown, who is too busy to call or text back, and the finance manager Anthony Monteiro is always too busy to see you or reply calls/emails. Same thing with the general manager, to put it simply this is not a serious dealer, you can't trust their word, they'll overcharge you and then disappear on you, if you're looking for a car go to a serious car dealer that will stand by their word. I know I'll never go back to McGee, unless they are willing to make it right. I'm going to file complaints at the BBB the FTC and the consumer protection agency.

Walked out

by jashend on 11/01/2015

Found a truck I would have bought. After 30 minutes with a salesman he wrote down a price I would have purchased at. When asked for a copy and a copy of the info on the truck (I wanted to take the info home to consider for 24 hours) he went to someone else who came back and asked what brought me in. What did he think, I was there to buy vegtables? I asked for a copy of the offer and the info on the truck. He refused. My wife and I stood up and walked out. He yelled some insult at us as we walked out. The place is pure BS.

Only care about the inital sale not YOU!

by carbuyer20159 on 09/20/2015

The only time that you are treated nicely is when you are actually looking at the cars. Once you sit down to discuss the deal you are NOT treated with respect. The sales consultants are very aggressive and really pressure you into buying or leasing a car you may not even want. If you try to leave they imply that you have wasted your time. I went through this with leasing a car here. Once you sign that finance agreement you are not treated well. They make everything they are doing is a "favor" to you. Then when you need service you have to deal with a very rude service department. I was told I didn't need an appointment for an oil change as you can just come. Once I got there the service representative was very rude and stated "you should have made an appointment"...Confused? Yes! So I had wasted my time driving up for an oil change and then had to scheduled an appointment. If you are looking to buy a car and be treated with some degree of respect DO NOT select this dealership. They pressure you into buying a car even if its not what you really want. Then if you change your mind they get very mad at you! Go to Herb Chambers, or another chevy dealership where you are actually treated like a human being.

Old school high pressure sales weasels

by beachhouse99 on 09/27/2014

Went because I saw a truck of interest on the lot. Finance people wouldn't tell me an interest rate on a loan till I purchased a vehicle. (told them my credit score, amount I wish to finance and the length of time) Drove the truck in question seemed good but overpriced according every automotive website I checked. Long and short it was like you see in the movies, stall tactics, got to talk to my manager. Anther guy comes over after my sales guys third try. Ask me various question about why I think the truck should cost that and how his price is more than fair.Told them what I was willing to pay and repeatedly ask every guy in a necktie that came over,"can you sell me this car at that price" No straight answer after an hour and speaking with 3 salesmen and the manager. Finally walked out in frustration.

They are why people hate car salesmen!

by Brian_Paul on 03/05/2014

Found these folks on AutoTrader. Their Malibu ad had a very specific price, with no caveats. I looked and had several other folks look. It simply had a price that was much better than everybody else. The price was even repeated, again, with no caveats. I contacted the internet sales manager and he confirmed that was the price. I told him I had a long drive to get there and had to leave work early to do so, and he still said it was the price. Well, you know what's coming. I got there and they weren't ready for me, even though I twice called in advance, once when I left, then when I was 20 minutes away. I was there quite a while, and of course when we sat down to talk numbers they weren't the numbers in the ad. It was $1,600 higher! I can get that price much closer to home. Their excuse was that I should have known better, that "e-prices" aren't the same. They said you have to qualify for them, and I did not. They asked for three things. I got the first one, yay! I got the second one, yay!! But failed on the third, boo!!! I can't imagine the small percentage that have all three. Then they had the nerve to hold my stuff and try to convince me the new price was still great. I had to get my son and they knew it, but they still forced me to wait, and I got my kid late. Picking him up alone in a library parking lot because the library had closed and his friends went home. I can't tell you how mad I was. I wish Edmunds would let me post a picture of their ad here, you could see the price and that there is nothing that says "If you qualify!" To Michael and the others there, shame on you! I don't know how you people sleep at night.

Bumper To Bumper Warranty

by Jason1657 on 10/25/2013

I fell for and purchased my Cadillac CTS from McGee last september. I felt very good about the whole transaction, I even purchased an extended warranty that I was told would cover me for any problems bumper to bumper.Everything would be covered except for tires, brakes and the like. I thought this was a wise move because with a big monthly payment, I couldn’t afford to run into any unexpected expenses. The car ran good for the first 6 months and I religiously kept up on the maintenance, I loved the car. My cars check engine light went on, so I made an appointment with the dealership. I arrived early for my appointment and was told that it would be a while. After 5 hours of waiting, Rich, The service manager told me that the problem was a fuel cell. He explained that they had to remove the fuel tank in order to fix it and that if it was one part it would be covered under warranty but if it was this other part, I would have to pay over 700 dollars. From Rich’s demeanor I knew that it would most likely be the 700 plus part. I left there feeling like I was getting taken. After fretting about the check engine light for months, I took it to a local mechanic who put it on the computer and after two minutes told me that it was a fuel evaporator sensor. He also told me that you don’t have to remove the gas tank, because that part is located under the hood. He replaced the part a couple days later and no more check engine light. 150 dollars for the part and labor. Now I can’t get a sticker because the Catalytic converter won’t pass inspection. So I call McGee and explain the problem and tell them about my warranty. They tell me that they will get back to me. They left me a message telling me that it is not covered under the bumper to bumper warranty. I wish I could read my warranty but I don’t have one to read because when I purchased the car they said they would mail my warranty to me which they never did. You have to understand that with a Cadillac CTS there are two Catalytic converters and you have to change both. At 500 dollars a piece and labor, I’m looking at 1,500 dollars and I can’t get a sticker without doing it. I just want to pass on my experience with McGee, I wouldn’t buy another car from them, I will never pay for an extended warranty again as long as I live and I would rather walk than bring my car in for service as long as Rich is running the service department. The. Best.

by chevyss427 on 06/16/2013

I came into the dealership last Monday to look at the Chevrolet Traverse, which I was comparing to the Mazda CX-9. I was there only to look and had no intention of purchasing that day. I was greeted by Sam W., who was friendly, and who was interested in my needs and what I was looking for in a new vehicle. He pulled up the Traverse, explained its features to me in detail, and we went on a lengthy test drive. When we got back I told him that I was only looking and that I still wanted to look at the Mazda, but then the sales manager, Ray, came over and made me an offer that was impossible to refuse! After a short time I met with the finance manager, who was great, and set up a time a couple days later to pick up my new Traverse. When I got back on Wednesday, the vehicle was already clean and ready, and Sam introduced me to their service department and set up the Onstar with me. Overall, everyone I encountered there was courteous and professional, and I couldn't have been happier. I will certainly buy my next vehicle here!

The worst dealer experience in my life...

by carbuyer194 on 06/04/2013

RUN!!!! The one word i would use to describe dealing with Mcgee Chevrolet. My experience started a few weeks ago emailing the internet business manager. I was looking at a used vehicle, a 2011 Mercedes-Benz E63 (which is still for sale). At first the communication was terrific when i expressed interest. The manager worked with me on negotiating my trade in vehicle and we scheduled a time to view the car. A week later I went to visit the dealership and called to confirm before i drove 2.5 hours to visit. I was advised the car was still there and was exactly as the ad indicated, no changes. When i arrived at the dealership i was shown the vehicle and completed a walk around. I first noticed scratches all over the car, 2 wheels that contained curb rash and one of those wheels appeared to have been moved from the passenger side to the driver side. When i sat in the vehicle to take it for a test drive i first looked at the odometer and it had over 4,000 miles more than what their ad listed! When i asked the sales rep, he said the owner had been driving it for months! No one thought it would be a wise idea to update the mileage or notify me on a car they have had sitting on the lot for 4 months that the owner has been using it as a daily driver?! And apparently it should not affect the depreciation of the vehicle as well. Of course i am already starting to go from annoyed to furious, but it gets much worse. During my test drive i took the car on the highway and felt a very strong vibration through the steering column and a very loud groaning noise from the car. It felt like there not only could be suspension damage, but also a bent wheel. I asked the sales rep and he had no clue and no answers. The experience is going from bad to worse. At the end of the test drive, insulted at this point, he still tries to negotiate a deal for the asking price! I told him based on the damage i would need to know what was wrong with the car before i started to discuss anything. The car has plummeted in value and he still had the nerve to say they need to get their asking price because of what they paid for it. Could this customer service be any worse? It gets worse! Finally i left and agreed that the car would be checked out and all of the issues will be looked at and addressed. I expected a call the next day. 3 days go by, naturally i did not hear back. At this point i sent a final email asking what is going on. I received a reply that there is a bent wheel and they will not only not fix or replace the wheel, BUT THEY STILL WANT THE ASKING PRICE AND WILL NOT LOWER IT A CENT. He even had the nerve to ask me if I wanted him to look into seeing how much it would cost to replace so i could pay for it. Ive owned many cars and dealt with many dealers across the country and i have to say this was the WORST experience i have ever had, by far! If you are looking at the Mercedes that is still for sale or any other vehicle, please use the utmost caution. I am writing this sincerely and to protect any future consumers from becoming a victim of bad customer service, deceit and purchasing a damaged vehicle.

Look the Other Way

by a1silveira on 05/24/2013

Where do I even begin… I went to McGee Chevrolet in Raynham to look at a vehicle they had on the internet. I went to check out the car, took it for a test drive and returned to McGee. After taking my first look at the car and all of its scratches and questionable appearance, I was not sure if I wanted to buy it. I explained to the sales person that I wanted to go take a look at other dealerships because I was unsure about the car. The sales person promised me that everything in the car worked, the car was a perfect buy, yada yada yada. So I stupidly agreed. But the sales person didn’t tell me that the car didn’t have a working radio. The car also needed a whole new ABS system costing $1500.00. I went back to McGee 3 times with this brake problem and the owner insisted that the brakes worked fine and threatened to eject me from his property. Shortly after, I drove off the lot with the same problem…twice. Once I suggested getting a lawyer involved, McGee began working with me. The third time I brought the car back (just for the ABS system), they worked on my car for 4 days… and “couldn’t” give me a rental vehicle (I have 2 jobs). The sales person and manager argued with me about a tire that wasn’t going to pass inspection. Insisting the tire was fine until I brought the car to an inspection station to find it wouldn’t pass. And finally, the undercarriage plastics. I found the plastic hanging off the undercarriage the day I bought the vehicle. I asked if they could fix the plastics and they said yes. After returning to McGee 10 times and mentioning the plastic 10 times, it was totally disregarded and the plastic still hangs there today. Okay, McGee Chevrolet of Raynham did give me a new tire… but the rotational tire was put on backwards…. Back to McGee for the 10th time. Literally. STAY AWAY. If MCGee Chevrolet of Raynham can’t put on a tire the right way, can they be trusted with anything else??? NEVER AGAIN. I will die telling this story to everyone looking for a new vehicle.
