If you are looking for a new Truck/car you can’t miss this Braintree Toyota

by Shannon on 05/18/2023

Upon our arrival at Braintree Toyota, we were in the "browsing stage", unsure if we wanted to buy a new vehicle to us. Gerry Gorman, Sales Representative Toyota Braintree, approached us after a few minutes, greeted us, we told him we were interested in the Toyota Tacoma's, we asked a lot of questions about the Toyota Tacoma, new and used. Gerry is very knowledgeable and articulate about the Toyota line. His experience and training makes Gerry able to "translate" the mumbo-jumbo so the non-knowledgeable consumer can understand and make a formative car buying decision. Gerry & the Staff that we met along the way during the car buying experience worked so passionately to make this the best experience. In the future this will be a #1 Dealership to buy from. We will recommend this to all our Friends/Family. Keep up the great work.

9 months in the making!

by BJG on 03/30/2023

Due to the pandemic and supply chain issues, I waited 9 months for my Corolla Cross. It was well worth the wait. Love it!!! However, I want to let everyone know about the great experience I had with Toyota of Braintree. My salesman was Gerry Gorham. He kept me informed during the process and when the car got here, he made sure I was comfortable and confident before I drove away in my new Cross. Best of all, he got to know me as a person and asked about how I was doing as well as keeping me up to date with progress on the car. This is why I came back to this dealership - the professionalism and personal touch. Would highly recommend Toyota of Braintree.

Five Star Buying Experience

by Yasmina on 02/04/2023

I’ve been looking for a RAV4 for about 10 months and finally purchased one from Gerry at the Tufankjian Toyota of Braintree. He was friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. I first talked with Chris, an online sales specialist to set up an appointment to come in and they matched me with Gerry. After talking for a while about my options I made my decision and was greeted by Freddie who was super excited and happy to answer alllll my questions regarding financing and add-on options. This was my first time purchasing a new car and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I had a friend of mine with me at the time of purchasing and she is now working with Gerry to find a car for herself as well. He followed up a few days after purchasing to check in on how things were going and even offered to teach me how to use the sport mode in my car! Thank you Gerry, Freddie, and Chris for your time and patience!

Buy your car from Toyota in Braintee. Ask for Mathias!

by TJMaher on 07/01/2019

I love Toyota of Braintree! I have had such an excellent experience had been getting my Toyota Corolla serviced there for years, they were top on my list to check out when I wanted a new car. When I went to buy a car, they connected my wife and I with Mathias Suarez. Mathias was excellent listening to all our wants and needs as new parents, since we were not sure which type of car we wanted and what would accommodate our new son. Four hours, three test drives, and two toddler meltdowns later, Mathias set up up with a new 2020 Corolla. One of the toddler meltdowns happened before one of the test drives. Without missing a step, Mathias jumped in the back seat and started playing with our son as my wife and I drove the car.

My Experience Buying a Toyota Prius on 4/11/19

by Pam on 04/11/2019

I bought a 2019 Toyota Prius LE today at your dealership. My sales person was Ed Hayes and my financial business person was Brian McGrath. My first issue was trying to find your location. The address is incorrect and my gps kept sending me in circles around trying to find 210 Union Stree., you are really on Grossman Dr. and your website or emails do not give specific information on how to get to your dealership. This is unacceptable for a client to have to go through this. I finally called and the directions by person also were very vague, ex., at the lights take a rifght. What lights, what right, what are the landmarks ( which I finally got after the first questions - Daddy’s ice cream, and the lights at Grossman Dr. ( finally real directions with real addresses). Very annoying. And I was annoyed when I finally found your dealership.our original contact was Bob Hedges who sent us information about a Prius that I actually followed up on and bought today. Then found out that Bib was off Thursdays. I called to make an appointment at 10:15 am this morning, came in, thought it was with Eric, but not sure. A sales person greeted me at the welcome desk, and asked for my name, and awkwardly asked me if I was named Pamela Hilton after i identified myself. Then Ed came over and said he could help me. We went over the differences between the XLE and the LE models. He showed me upstairs an XLE model and I did not understand why your dealership according to Ed, only has XLE’s with all wheel drive, which I am not interested in. I live in Florida six months and a few days every year as a Florida resident and snowbird, no hills, and I rarely go to the mountains or hills. Also looked at fabric versus, leather seats, he showed me some leather seats called Katzskin which he sybarites by making a negative comment about the name... it would never occur to me that the name, was not a good name, but Ed insisted a few times, and he also noted it was an in-house feature that, was an additional cost. I already own a Creme de Brûlée colored Camry with beige fabric seats which get dirty and are very hard to clean with spills from children in the back seat, cannot clean them with the Totoya fabric cleaner, so I was looking for a better solution for cleaning seats with spots. So I selected the original LE with black fabric seats, no all wheel drive, no gps, for the sales price. Started to do the signing of papers, I needed to read the forms which are very small letters and hard to read, Ed offered me magnifying glass which worked. Very difficult to complete because there is not enough room for normal script to compete the information. I do not have any issues writing, just reading very very small script. I looked for a pen, Ed had a Toyota pen out before, then it was not there, and he said he was trying to hold on to his Rav 4 pen, so I took out my own pen to sign papers. I have never had to deal with whose pen am I using to sign for a sales agreement. Really has Ed got a problem with letting his pen being left in the desk for a client to use to sign a sales agreement? I asked Ed to explain the fees and doc fees in particular, to break it down, he was just going through a vague explanation and I was asking specific questions like what does anti-theft measures in the doc fee really mean? He was guessing. I asked him to find out, and he came back with a copy of the handbook he just showed me. He said he asked someone to explain it, and did not get an answer because he said they did not know either. I asked Brian later and he did not know. Sales people need to be able to explain all terms in a sales agreement and what they contain and what do they break down form the bigger amount to the parts of what the big amount adds up from. A basic consumer right to 9 low what it really means. Not circular definitions which are not definitions. sales manager needs to read this for follow up training. did ask for comparing what it would cost to have my Florida plate vs. just having a MA plate. Cost and time were very disappointing with. A out of state processing fee of $400 with a fee weeks delay, in a world where overnite delivery is very possible. Also I called my car 8nsurance to compare the costs and decided to go with MA plates and registration. Also added LoJack and did a three different deposit cost comparisons of financing a 36 month loan with Toyota Financing. Well, I bought the car. No one said I would get any calls later. I got a call from Toyota F8nancing asking me for address information verification and other credit information. I refused to do this because I did not recognize the number, had not been told I might get a call from Toyota Financing, and since it sounded suspicious, I asked the person to call me back, leave a voicemail with their name, phone number, and any other information so I could call Toyota of Braintree back to verify what was this phone call about, that person said I was ‘ uncomfortable’ giving information, and I said it was not the comfort level, it was the professionalism and insecure approach to my financial information that I do not gI’ve out any personal information over the phone to an unsolicited strange phone number unless it has been verified. So,I callled Ed back and told him about This,ph8ne call and if he could verify its authenticity. He put me on hold, and then my phone call was dropped on his end because it went to his voicemail. I then called Brian and told him about this phone call and he verified it was from Toyota Financial, but they should have called him not me. I knew that Toyota of Braintree had the correct information by going over every detail with Brian, and that was another reason I was suspicious at that phone call from what was being identified as Toyota Financial. I gave Brian the information and he said he would take care of it. I have identified some areas that need to be corrected. I think Brian did an excellent job, Ed did an average to below abverage job, and Toyota Financial’s call center did a below average job. I have bought many Toyota’s - two previous Prius’s, several Corolla’s, and a Camry. I have been to Wellesley Toyota, and Ed Morse Toyota in Delray Beach. Your dealership was third in my customer satisfaction ranking out of the three for the reasons I outlined above. Yes, your dealership made the sale and I was a motivated buyer, but my total experience except for working with Brian was below average. Even when I said I was thirsty, I was told about the water bubbler, not even an offer of cup of water. So do you really take a review like this seriously. Maybe? Not what I call a good day of buying a new car.

New or Used, Best deal with lot options

by Bhavya on 01/28/2019

Mathias Suarez, made the whole experience of buying my first car as a great time and memorable moment. He is a very helpful, knowledgeable, could answer any questions or concerns I had rapidly with lots of patience and pleasant representative to work with. I was there for 4 hours, during my first visit and he worked hard to get me the right car and a great deal. Last but not least, after the sale is complete he sat with me and my husband and helped us to figure out how to use the cars console controls with our phone. So, Ask for Mathias..!

If I could choose less than 1 star

by SharonDowd on 01/21/2019

From email sent January 21 2019 to toyota of Braintree sales team: Earlier this month, my husband and I met you, as part of our selection of a replacement vehicle for our 2008 Rav4. We test drove a 2018 Hybrid Rav4. Since we met, we have test driven 3 other cars: 2018 Honda CRV, 2019 VW Tiguan and 2018 Mazda CX-5. Feature for feature, the Rav4 rose to the top of the list of our test drives. Great vehicle. We were looking to trade in the 2008 Rav as part of our purchase. You requested my key in order that the car be appraised on the spot. We communicated very clearly at our meeting that: 1) we were going to test drive other vehicles as part of our selection process, 2) we were happy with our Rav's performance so you were our first stop in our test drives 3) we would not be making a deal that evening. Then things got ugly. We are experienced enough with car purchasing that we understand the silly dance between us and "going to see the manager". I hold Sales Management just as responsible for the actions of their staff. I asked three (3) times for my key to be returned to me. Andy, you would say "yes, yes" then keep talking about features. When you did leave the desk "to talk to the manager", some other man (supposedly a manager who's name I can not recall because I was not interested anymore) sat in your chair and, again, ignored my requests for my key and the opportunity to leave. Clearly, this is an acceptable sales strategy at Tufankjian. I still feel, as I write this, infuriated with myself for not just getting up and leaving. I trusted that the relinquishing of the key was for appraisal purposes only. Clearly, I was in error. My husband had with him his key to the Rav. I remember finding it strange that you kept asking if there was only one key... Now I know why. We have decided to purchase a 2018 Honda CRV from Ocean Honda. We even purchased a higher trim package because of the professional and courteous demeanor of their sales team. All the other dealers that we met never deployed this deceptive entrapment technique. Perhaps these tactics work on some of your sales but your company's actions resulted in a loss of my business and a commitment to share my negative experience. As a courtesy, I am writing you first before I fill out the Edmunds Review found on your website and/or respond to other customer experience surveys. I have informed the other car dealers that I found them professional, would gladly recommend them and that your organization's sales approach was a disappointment. If in the future, we are interested in purchasing another Toyota product, we will take our business to another dealer. Happy Honda customer, Sharon Dowd

Sales, Management & Extended Warranty

by DebLynch on 09/02/2018

I had a rocky experience over 12 years ago with my mom trading in her Lincoln for a Camry. The lady sales person who I can’t remember her name was not nice to my elderly mother but after speaking with one of the owner’s sons they made it right for my mom and that is what mattered to me. I had been doing research on used VW convertible beetles when the dealership took one in on a trade for a Toyota Solaris convertible. I wanted that beetle and we negotiated and I also bought the extended (which was worth every cent)! I bought the beetle in 2010. Now 8 years later I am back at the same dealership to by an iQ Scion 2015. I had a great experience with John A. (salesperson) and Brian McGrath (finance/ warranty) and while I was waiting for the deal to be done Mark, the head of the sales department, kept me entertained and got my books from the Scion so I could read all about it. Quirk and Chambers dealerships were horrible experiences and I will never go back to either one again. There are about 3 more cars in my future to buy before I leave this earth and they will all be purchased at Toyota of Braintree, providing they have the vehicle I want. Thank you for making it a stress-free experience! Very satisfied owner, Deb Lynch of Weymouth.

Exceptional personnel

by gardengate on 05/03/2018

Just had a very pleasant visit at Toyota of Braintree, culminating in my purchase of a new Prius V. John A. was clearly the best salesperson I have ever dealt with....knowledgeable in all things Toyota, patient with my zillion questions, and quite affable and intelligent. I also worked with Eric and Joey, who were excellent! And, I recognized Mark who was the terrific salesperson I bought my 2005 Prius from. I’ve been to two other dealerships, and Toyota of Braintree far surpassed each.

They wouldnt even let me come in to talk about the vehicle

by ROBERT on 04/15/2018

I wouldnt recommend anyone visiting this location. In the past 3 weeks i reached out twice to inquire about a certain vehicle only to be shut down in the reply because they wont budge on listed price. I don't usually write negative reviews but being someone who oversees a sales team for a living I just felt that it was very very poor service to start off a business interaction with a straight out no we cant budge on the price from Lauriana Alves who is the internet director. I am definitely buying a Highlander in the next 2 days and if they worked me with me even a little it most likely would of been with them because the location is only 5 miles from my home but instead I will spend my money elsewhere and suggest evryone do the same. They could of easily came down 1-3k and made a nice profit instead greed took over. I will tell everyone I know in Braintree and surrounding areas not to go to this location.

Dishonest folks who lack any integrity..

by ToyotaCustomer on 03/12/2018

On 2/13/2018 I called and spoke to Eric F. regarding a new 2017 AWD Sienna Limited Premium listed on their website. Eric is Tufankjian's web sales Manager. I asked Eric if this vehicle had the 3,500 lbs. tow package installed, as I was looking to replace the current van I use to tow my boat and haul gear to my remote cabin. Eric said that all 2017 Sienna's come with the tow package standard so yes this 2017 AWD Sienna Limited Premium has the tow package installed. I told him I was interested then but it was a long way for me to come.. so we talked price and he gave me a quote (without trade in) that I found acceptable. So I drove a distance to Braintree and meet with Eric. He had someone look at my trade in and had a subordinate hand me a agreement that was $3,500 more than his quote and this included my trade in.. I eventually got the original quote and a reasonable trade in value. We discussed what tow hitch he would install and I agreed with installing a Draw-Tite custom hitch made for the Sienna and fit snugly above the rear under-carriage plate and would give me 9" clearance. Eric said this was their standard install for the Sienna. So I came two days later to pick up the van... I noticed that they installed the wrong tow hitch. Eric never followed through to install the correct Draw-Tite custom hitch.. what they installed hung below the rear plate with very limited ground clearance.. I looked underneath and saw that one of the bolts holding the hitch on was sticking out, not screwed in, and cross threaded at an angle. I had them take it all off and eventually ordered the correct Hitch and wiring and installed myself. I found that the mechanic, to save time, and to easily make this wrong Hitch fit had hacked off 1/3 of the under carriage plate and exposed the undercarriage and discarded the fasteners. I had to go out to a Toyota parts distributor and replace the plate.. struggle to replace the three different fasteners and yes tap out where they had crossed threaded the frame thread. When installing the harness to the battery I found a quarter panel had been cracked in two places when they installed and then removed the wiring harness. A tie down was damaged and numerous panel fasteners were missing.. again I struggled to obtain these numerous fasteners. The battery positive terminal cover, where the wiring attaches, was damaged and 2/3 missing/discarded exposing the terminal. But all this is nothing compared to why I state they are a dishonest dealership and lack integrity .. A week after the purchase I was reading that only some modals of the 2017 Sienna have the tow package installed as standard equipment.. I asked Eric numerous times about this and he repeatedly told me that all 2017 Sienna's modals have the tow package installed and agreed that he would send me documentation. It never came. I followed up with corporate Toyota with multiple communications and was told by Toyota in absolute terms, including a printout of my VIN manufacture specs, that my modal did not have the tow package.. in fact it was not even available for all AWD modals except the LE in 2017. They made it clear that it could not tow my boat. I sent this communication to Eric immediately.. Now I have a new van, with a tow hitch, I was told could tow 3,500 lbs, but is no use to me. I will have to trade it in for another vehicle and will take quite a hit in the trade-in vs. new purchase spread, never mind the cost/fees associated with a purchase. I believe Eric Francke deliberately deceived me because I told him I was looking at a Traverse also and he didn't want to lose the sale. Eric at first said he will make it right but since then just avoids me. Has never returns my calls, bounces me to voicemail etc. When I actually get him he promises to talk to his bosses and get back to me but nothing has ever happened.. whenever I ask to speak to his Manager, Carlos, I am told he is sick, went home early, or has a day off.. Instead of addressing the issue they hope I fade away. I am in communications with corporate Toyota at this point. Folks there are some very good and honest Toyota dealers out there, unfortunately Toyota of Braintree is not one of them..

Best Sales Rep Ever- John Augustave

by Catman0125 on 02/20/2018

I can't rave how awesome John Augustave was been to work with. His patience and knowledge does go along way when you have picky customers and hard negotiators but he really wowed us time after time and that is why we trusted to have done 2 trade-ins within 2 months apart from 2017 to 2018 vehicle. Joey was awesome also making it so easier to get in and out the same day. Great staff across the board at this dealership!
