[non-permissible content removed], Pants on Fire

by UnImpreza on 06/16/2018

I did quite a bit of research and emailed several dealerships. Tim Long was my contact and got him down to a price of $18,000 for a 2018 Subaru Impreza 2.0i. When I confirmed the price w/him and mentioned I wanted to lease, he got all mad at changed the price of the car on me to $19,000. When I called him out he tried giving me the run around and say things to make it seem like I didn't know what I was talking about. He kept insisting that he was honoring the agreed upon price and told me to call the finance department so they could explain it. I wasn't born yesterday and had several outside sources confirm that he was offering the car for $19k not the $18k we agreed upon. Moral of the story, go anywhere but Quirks. He stopped answering emails because he knew I was no rookie to the games car salesmen(women) play. Shame on you and shame on quirk. Thankfully, I found a true, honest dealership. Bye Felicia

Dont go to quitk its full of [non-permissible content removed]

by Jwelch0578 on 04/09/2018

On 4/9/18 I visted quirk subaru to assist my mother in buying a new 2018 crosstrek limited The reason we went was they had the lowest advertised price online. The fact that the majority of the vehicles had a $3500 “discount” that required a vehicle to trade should have been a warning. We were planning on trading a vehicle and had already apraised at Long Subaru for $6500 (same as kbb and edmunds). When quirk apraised the vehicle they came back with a value of suprise suprise you guessed it a laughable $2500. At this point we should have just left immediately but thinking consumer feedback is important I tried to explain how this dishonest practice of trying to decieve the customer is the reason we would never buy a vehicle from them. The only people this practice is effective with is those that are unable to grasp simple arithmetic for the rest or us its just insulting. This got me nowhere as I was fed a bunch of nonsense about auction fees. We went to walk out as some sales manager Tom came over and repeated more of the same nosense. Realizing that we already wasted enough time we got up to leave. Tom then stated “Oh your going to walk out thats very rude I was brought up better than that”. Having your upbringing questioned infront of your mother is not what you expect while shopping for a vehicle. I escorted my mother to her vehicle as we were continued to be hounded by Tom after he was asked multiple times to please leave us alone. It was not till my mother was safely in her car and I turned to Tom looked him in they eye and told him to get the [non-permissible content removed] away from me did he scamper back inside. Fortunately we then went to nearby Planet Subaru and had a completely oposite experience we purchased the exact same vehicl for $3000 less than quirks offer. But more importantly we were treated like humans honest value on trade and an upfront price the salesman Joe was very helpful and super low pressure. It felt great to make the purchase from the nearest competitor to the [non-permissible content removed] at quirk. There was barely any other customers at quirk but planet was packed this tells me my feelings about these issues are shared by most. You better believe that this experience will be shared with the Subaru Corporation as I doubt they want this behavior connected to there brand. Dont got to quirk its full of [non-permissible content removed]!

Terrible place as a result of a bad apple

by eg2006 on 01/02/2018

Joanne is very pleasant and helpful and worked with us by email, text, and phone ahead of time. She accommodated a quick test drive, no pressure. 1st 10 min visit for test drive Ryan greeted us in the frigid cold. We were excited to come back next day to close the deal. 2nd visit, Xavier greeted us and very pleasant and even made my daughter feel right at home. Then train went off the rails. Another guy with a fast introduction, weak handshake, no business card introduction started haggling and undoing all the good work Joanne had confirmed. Suddenly the agreed upon price by email went up $1k. Then tried to sell me another car and for final insult asked why did I bother coming in! Really, dude! As I saw my daughter break into tears for a car she fell in love we stopped and left immediately. Message to dealer - know your customer. You have great people in Joanne, Xavier and Ryan. Hire more of those. The guy who broke the deal, well maybe he makes you money but it's short term money and not long term money. We happily made another very good deal at another dealer who treated my daughter and me very, very well. They will get my future business. Final, recommendation if you want the possibility of getting treated like dirt or gamble depending on who you get flipped to, go to this place and prepare to lose your money. Otherwise, shop around until the right dealer treats you well, not this one.

Got a Great Deal

by SubieGirl1810 on 01/01/2018

I worked with Anthony while purchasing my new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Overall it was a good experience. This was my first time purchasing a new car so was a little worried about any stunts they would pull but was pleasantly surprised by a straightforward and streamlined process. The salesroom is a little underwhelming aesthetically. Anthony was able to work with me to get my monthly payment where I wanted it and he was very respectful and energetic. Would recommend both Quirk Works and Anthony if you are looking to purchase a new Subaru.

A VIP Treatment

by AnObserver on 11/13/2017

Xavier at Quirk Works Subaru has been kind and attentive, and gives my Mama - his customer - the Royal Treatment. VIP is what she sees! If you're looking for a well-mannered and personable professional, visit Quirk Works and specifically, ask for Xavier Rivera. With him, it's more than another car dealership, it's a way of buying!

Quirk Subaru knocked it out of the park for us

by lairdwd on 10/31/2017

I would give six stars to Quirk Works Subaru if I could. After reading some negative comments here and elsewhere, I was a bit skeptical . But all I can say is QuirkWorks knocked it out of the park for us. Joanne started our engagement. She was very prompt, professional, and courteous. You really couldn't ask for more. Tom Sforza the Salesmanager also came through for us. We also worked with Mach to complete the deal. He was very professional, and engaging. Making sure we understood everything and crossing the t's and dotting the i's. I've been buying cars for 30 years, and this was by far my best experience yet. I look forward to doing more deals with QuirkWorks. I plan on letting Subaru of America know how pleased I was with the level of service demonstrated by Quirk works in getting us into our first Subaru.

BUYER BEWARE

by shopper124 on 10/17/2017

DON'T WALK BUT RUN AWAY... I CANNOT BE MORE SERIOUS.... PLEASE EMAIL ME OR SEND ME A CONTACT NUMBER AND I CAN SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WITH YOU VIA PHONE. VERY SHADY GROUP HERE. I HAVE TEXTS AND VOICEMAIL'S I CAN SHARE AS PROOF OF THE RELENTLESS HARASSMENT. Long story short, I made a preliminary deal with these guys, gave a down payment and then realized how badly I got hosed (Yes I take some blame here) and I told them I did not want to continue with the deal the next day within 24hrs, I told them I found a much better deal elsewhere. (mostly the fact that the other dealer agreed to take my current lease deal) They of course disagreed, and continued to process the deal after I said I was not going to continue with it. This was over a 3 day period. But the weird and worst part was the relentless phone calls, and texts from sales person Xavier and GM George, asking when I was coming to pick up the car. AGAIN I told them 3 days ago I wasn't going to continue with the deal. They still registered the vehicle in my name, which I had to cancel. I had to dispute my down payment with my bank as they refuse to give that back. PEOPLE do your homework when car shopping. I didn't (shame on me) I would stay clear of this dealership. I have spoken with a few other dealers who shared experiences of other people with similar problems with QUIRK SUBARU. BUYER BEWARE!! read the other reviews (shame on me as I didn't)

Fraud Alert - stay clear

by sleg2017 on 12/30/2016

To make a long story short I bought a car from them and had to fight with them to trade it in at a loss because there were issue they wanted to put a Band-Aid on for a new car. My local Subaru service center disagreed with quirks solution to tape my molding on that was falling off. The only solution was to order a new part that needed to be painted and my car paint blended. Never mind the issues with the car I had requested the financing paperwork from the dealer and paperwork I had never seen was provided with another person’s signature. Long story short I reached Subaru corporate and told them in which they gave me a loyalty credit and I traded the car in at what would have been a 5k difference but after promising to take legal action I traded for a car and was given around 2k less back for the car I had bought 9 days ago. Issues: New Car damaged and solution to tape on molding or blend car paint with new part Key they claimed was $700 and too expensive to replace looked like it was taken to a belt sander Screamed at by sales manager on sales floor because I asked for a new key Someone signed my name on finance paperwork Trade-in was around 2k less than the faulty price they sold me the car for

Subaru Legacy

by doccotter on 09/10/2016

I been shopping for a Subaru for a while. Checked out a few dealers and ended up buying from Quirk in Braintree. Jonathan Theodat was my sales rep and I felt he did a good job working with me on price and the options I needed. I would recommend using him as a sales rep and would get a quote again from him if I buy another Subaru. Thanks again. Bryan C.

Horrible dealership! They have no morals. They will quote you one price via email then when you arrive they'll throw in that you'll have to pay a $900 destination fee (when the car is already at their dealership). They'll try and kick you out too if you attempt to approach their manager desk (wow, such important people!) and treat you like crap overall. The manager with glasses is particularly heinous.. It's such a mans club mentality in there, so you should especially stay away if you are a female! Not cool at all... they lost my potential business and hopefully many others! STAY FAR AWAY!!!

Outstanding Salesperson

by happybuyer51 on 08/02/2014

I had an excellent experience at Quirk Works Suburu in Braintree buying my first Forrester! This was all because of the comfortable atmosphere my salesperson, Jonathan T created during the buying process. If you need a Subaru I highly recommend asking for Jonathan. I first went to the dealer in Norwood and sat for 20 minutes without any saleperson coming up to me to help me purchase a car. After being ignored it was great to have Jonathan come over to me in a non threatening manner and ask me if I needed any help as I was checking out the cars. He was very friendly and easy to talk with and never pushy. I did not feel like I was buying a car but making a new friend, not what I would expect from a car buying experience!Jonathan worked with his manager Ledion to get me an excellent price. I love my Forrester and I am thankful Jonathan make the car buying process fun rather than stressful.

Terrible Experience

by nilanjana on 06/26/2014

If someone wants to learn how to lose customers fast, they should come to Quirk Subaru of Braintree. We were quoted a price over the email and over the phone, but when we got there, we met with a different person and he quoted us a price that was $800 higher! They even completely lied about the availability of a specific color that we wanted. Horrible customer service, what a bunch of liars. I will never go back there, and will ask all my friends to avoid this place.

Confrontational & Misogynistic

by esther15 on 05/19/2014

I was upfront in that I was gathering information wanted to test drive the Forrester, Outback, & Crosstrek & be educated further on what leasing entails versus buying. I was bounced to 3 different salespeople within 10 minutes of being there. No one seemed to want to help me. The salesman I ended up with took me out to test drive the Forrester & stared out the window the entire time. No specs explained- not a word-so awkward! When we finished test drive he asked if I was ready to make an offer on the Forrester to which I said no because I had yet to test drive the Outback & Crosstrek & learn more about the leasing options. He had his manager go look at my current car for trade value. The manager came in, grabbed my shoulder & said “I know you can’t be the 1st owner of this car because its older than you are”. I do look younger than I am. The manger then sat down with the salesman & again asked what it would take to sell me Forrester. When I again stated that I wanted to see other Subaru’s, the manager told me that I was “wasting their time” because the Forrester was “all I could afford”. What?! No one ever asked for my income or credit score (which are both excellent). When I said I was not going to buy the Forrester without seeing the other Subaru’s first the manager yelled at me for wasting their time & stormed off!! I couldn't believe it! He actually threw a tantrum & stormed away like a crazy person! Shame on you Quirk Subaru! In 2014 a young professional female has every right to make an informed car buying decision by herself & without being bullied. You’re the worst.

Beware!

by DMookherjee on 04/07/2014

Beware of the promises this dealer will make to lure you to come in to their store! You can check and double check the price they quote over the phone, what exactly it includes and excludes. But then prepare to be surprised when you actually go -- the person who you spoke to will welcome you and then disappear, and the salesman assigned to you will go over the price they are prepared to sell you, which is of course considerably above what was promised over the phone. And the person you spoke to over the phone will not appear to talk to you to explain the discrepancy. This is what I recently experienced. I had double checked on the phone that the price they were quoting excluded only the sales and registration taxes. That means it included the destination charges, and when I asked the business manager to confirm this, he said yes. He said he would do whatever it would take to get my business. What he meant is whatever it would take me to get into the store. When I did this, and spent an entire afternoon going for a test drive, all kinds of chit-chat about the car with the salesman, and then to the final negotiations: the price now was nearly eight hundred dollars over what I had been quoted on the phone. Because the destination charges have to be included! The salesman went and checked twice with his managers, but they could not honor what I had been promised over the phone. I subsequently checked other dealers in the Boston area, who don't play these games --- the price they quote is exactly what they actually offer. So I bought the car I wanted from another dealer who played straight all the way through. I had just wasted a lot of my time with Quirk Subaru. Hope you don't have to.

Walked off the lot

by lin47 on 02/10/2014

I wasn't ready to buy yet & told them so up front. Wanted to test drive another make. Told them if I buy a Subaru, I would come back to that particular salesman. The sales manager started yelling at me saying I will never come back if I walk out now, when I told him I would, he just kept raising his voice to me, yelling at me telling me that they are No #1 and he was not a nice person to do business with. I stood up to leave and he stood up and left 1st. I continued to talk with the salesman and the manager called him to come away from us. Very bad experience, too bad for that salesman. Imagine yelling at a potential customer because they weren't buying right then and there.

deceptive business practice

by glee88 on 11/13/2013

I bought a Subaru Legacy along with a maintenance plan from Quirk Subaru on June 11, 2011. My Business/Finance Manager Bob at the time reassured me that this plan covered dealer scheduled services. I went to the dealer today at 30K miles and, surprise, I was told my plan only covered oil changes. Now, keep in mind that this plan was very pricey for just oil changes so I expected more and also Bob assured me at the time that this plan did indeed cover a lot of services. This dealership does not back up what it sells and I wouldn't give them another dime of my money. Great car, bad dealer.

Save yourself a headache, avoid this place like the plague!

by srobles4 on 09/16/2013

What a horrible experience!! I emailed them to see if they had the car I was looking for, they said yes, I showed up a few hours later and after I was dragged around the parking lot for a half hour, they told me the cars were "unable to be located," talk about a bait and switch! They also told me via email that they use Kelly Blue Book to assess trade ins and promised 110% of my trade in value, only to find out that they in fact use NADA and offered me less than half of what my vehicle was worth. Against my better judgement I ordered a car through them, after 3 weeks it still wasn't there, even though I had a VIN number they couldn't tell me where it was! I ended up getting the car I wanted at a dealership that actually treats their customers with some honesty and integrity. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from these guys. Sean G. and Tim L. in particular, they'll do anything to get you to the dealership including lie and cheat.
