Unhappy buyer.

Don't go car shopping late at night. A purchase may take 3-4 hours.At the end of the purchase, your tired and may make bad decisions. I was promised a refund on my purchase and it may take 4- 6 weeks by Stacey. It has been longer, still waiting !

Brand New 2024 Kia Sportage!

My experience with the sales associate Tomas Wiedel was amazing. We’ve been in talks for a 2024 KIA for about 4 weeks and he constantly checked in on me. I let him know my situation and he made it happen once I was ready to come in to visit. His communication is great and I didn’t feel like I was being “hassled” to get a car like how other dealerships treat you. I appreciate Tomas so much and also Jon Lefko who assisted with the financing portion. Both men really took care of me and I’m forever grateful. Thank you!!!!!

Incomplete service, not once, twice

If you are looking for a tire rotation, look somewhere else. Twice within 7 months dropped my car for an oil change and tire rotation, in both cases their technicians did not rotate tires, despite claiming and charging for a service. Not good.

Not accountable for anything

Came to this dealership as recommended. They supposedly fixed the engine issue. Less than a year later here we go again. Why wasn’t the in warranty. It’s less than a year. Jay continued to blame me for the oil changes but the bigger issue was for what they worked on. Diagnostic paid just to tell me the same thing they told me last year and said they would fix it. Not that it would continue to come back. Not there is a major engine issue. I’m paying for carnote… insurance… rental out of pocket and now repairs. But no one cares until you stop making car payments

Service Department horrible

Koons Kia new Service Department is byfar the worst experience I've ever had in the 9yrs I've been taking my 2014 Optima and wife 2021 Telluride there for service. I dropped my off my 2014 Optima on May 26, 2023 for a locked up engine and bad starter which I told Greg the service writer when dropping off. It took the service writer Greg almost 2 weeks to reach out to me only after I call several times. Once Greg called me back after almost 2 weeks and told me my engine was locked up, he then needed me to provide all of my service records, which I told Greg, Koons should have all my service record because Koons has always serviced my car for the life of me having this vehicle. Greg refused to look for my old service records because the records was in boxes in their archive room. Which I then had to take my services record to him just so Kia could warranty my engine.I requested a loaner vehicle or a rental vehicle which I never recieved up to when I picked up my car 6 weeks later on June 30, 2023. I was charged 3 hrs of labor to diagnose and replace a starter which I told the service writer was wrong with it when I dropped it off on May 26th. Greg the service writer would never call me to update me on my car, I would call and Greg would never answer or would have the person answering the phone to tell me that he would have to call me back and never would. I eventually had to call and get updates from the service manager. While the tech was installing the new engine he broke the fuel injector which delayed the completion of my car by two weeks, when I never received a rental or loaner the entire time my car was in the shop. When I picked up my car on June 30, 2023 it was brought up to me super dirty with stuff and pieces of flowers from trees stuck to my car. The tech left dirty rags and 11 bolts on my back seat. My car had a oil, greasy and gas smell to it on the inside. My front bumper lower grill was pushed in, front license plate was bent up and paint damage to the lower bumper from the machine the tech used to push my car into the shop with. This is the worst experience I've ever had with this service department and will no longer be taking my vehicles back to Koons Kia for service, they have lost a customer for life. I brought this 2014 Optima off their show room floor and a 2021 Telluride.

Koons Kia Service - flee as fast as you can

Our Kia Sedona started having the oil pressure indicator come on/go off intermittently in the dash, then started leaking oil. Setup appointment for 5/31 to fix the oil pressure switch leak issue and also apply the anti-theft update - 2 warranty items only, nothing else. When making the appointment, spoke to a service advisor who stated it would take about 3 hours for these 2 items - could either wait for it or drop it off. Dropped off 5/31 7:40 am, handed the warranty documents to service advisor, who handed them back and stated something about a $160 diagnostic fee for the oil pressure switch issue if ends up not being that. The document specifically states Kia will diagnose the cause for free - no stipulations. Advisor said would know something by end of day. Heard nothing - ended up having to call many times. Every time I called service, could hear it transfer 3 times and keep ringing until get to message to leave voicemail. Left several messages over days and never got any call back. Nobody ever initiated a call to me for an update. Learned you basically have to call main number, then hit 0 (not a menu option) when menu options start to get anyone to talk to, then ask for transfer. They had vehicle 4 days and only did the anti theft update. Only time ever heard from "advisor", Greg, was 3rd day after I called yet again and girl took name/number on post-it note, put in middle of his monitor so he couldn't avoid. Then he would only text. Eventually said they looked over vehicle (I didn't ask for any of that) and recommend $1500 of things to do. He lied about brakes, cabin air filter (brand new) and plugs (not needed or on service schedule for our mileage) - had service at my trustworthy mechanic 3 weeks earlier where they let me know brake measurements, replaced cabin filter, etc. After 4 days and they wouldn't give loaner, had to go pick up van on Saturday...couldn't wait any longer. Their own employees said certain problem employees (including Greg) that need to go. Got home, had to add oil (very low due to leak), checked cabin filter - brand new as I knew. They somehow lost inside glove box left clip when "looking things over". I spoke to service manager on following Monday and only way they'd do anything was to bring it back in. I asked for the glove box clip they lost and they won't even send that. Never another Kia - service and vehicles leave a lot to be desired. Places like this shouldn't even be in business.

salesman lied about car to get us to come look at it

We contacted dealer via website to ask if it was available and then they called us 4 times within 24 hours asking if we'd like to come look at it. We told them we didn't want to waste each others time and would only come if they would be willing to lower price $750. The salesman said OK and then we drove there, did test drive and looked at car in detail. When we sat down to discuss paperwork he said the price was back to original sales price and they would not honor the price we had discussed and agreed to via text. They lied and mislead us to come look at the car under false pretenses. Then to make it worse - the next morning they lowered the asking price $250 so it was really only $500 difference! I would never go back here - many more honest dealerships nearby that don't treat customers like this! Shame on them!!

Gary & Koons - Awesome!

Quick Highlights: ------------------------ 1.) Actually flew in from Cleveland OH - to buy my new 2017 Kia Optima SX (with Tech Package) - Love it! 2.) Gary knows his cars, competition, and wants to make people happy in their new car by treat people fairly. 3.) Every customer I met at Koons was happy and a return customer. -------------------------- Additional Info -------------------------- I actually live in Cleveland OH and took a flight to Baltimore to purchase my 2017 Kia Optima and drove back that night - felt a little crazy - but worth every moment spent and would do again. Koons had the right car at the best price. I looked all over Cleveland and couldn't find the car I wanted - and saw at first on the internet for an amazing price. When I called I spoke with Gary and he was forthright and mentioned this was with every discount possible - but after discussion - was still lower than I could find here in Cleveland. One word of advice if ever doing something like this over the phone and before ya buy a plane ticket is get the full price out the door - just to avoid any innocent misunderstandings. We did have a little misunderstanding but worked it out. Gary picked me up from the airport, had all the paperwork ready for me, car shined up for the test drive. He spent time making sure i understood all the features and how they worked. Very knowledgeable!! I also met about 4 customers at the dealership and every one was a return customer that said - they basically only deal with Koons and also had very high praise for Gary. One was learning how to use and install Android auto, others were in the wait room for service and very happy. Again - very impressed with Gary and Koons Kia - and would absolutely fly to Baltimore again to get a car (maybe make it a fun weekend though and see the inner harbor - ok next time :)!!!

Gary is the best

Gary Tolentino has help me over and over again. I have brought 2 cars from Gary and each time he took his time and answered all of my question and I didn't feel rush. My sister has brought a car from Gary too. As long as he is here I will continue to shop here. I will be back in a few months to get a car for my son. Gary is the best.

Dishonest dealership

1. They quoted and agreed on one price. But changed the price when we were signing the papers for sales mva and bank. Ravens playoff game was on, we were in a hurry. And they purposely made us wait two hours before signing papers so that we will not pay attention. They increased the price by $ 1200! Added other charges . We were rushing and did not pay attention. When next day we found out and called dealership , answer we got was very telling. The person derisively laughed at us and said" It is your fault! You should have checked it" If trusting your fellow human being is our fault then yes it was our fault. 2. They did not inform our insurance company to add car to our insurance. We kept on driving without insurance. On a hunch I called insurance company and found that dealership had not informed them! It could have been very expensive mistake 3. They do not give permanent license plate at time of sale and make you come back another time one week later. And then another two hours wait! 4. General unprofessional , sloppy, atmosphere. Sales people in jeans!

I have purchase a number of cars over the years. I have never been to a dealership like this one. I never felt like I was being pressure to by anything. You know some sales people make you feel like you cannot afford the car you want, not Jeff Scott. He made me feel relax. Talking to Jeff was like talking to a friend. I learn a lot on this car shopping trip. I have told my family and friends about him. I really like this dealership. I will always go there for my cars.

Koons Kia is on my list of Top Dealers

I went online and priced out about 10 different Kia Fortes and Hyundai Elantras from area dealers since I was determined NOT to step foot in a dealership after having a horrible experience a few days prior. One of those dealers was Koons Kia and Jeff Scott was the Sales Specialist. I HIGHLY recommend Jeff Scott and his ability to be a sincere and low pressure yet attentive salesman. Not only did he follow-up with me during the four days of my research, he did it without making me feel bad that I didn't have a definitive answer for him. My credit is not the greatest and my payments had to be in a range that I knew I could afford in the long term and Jeff didn't get aggravated with my deliberations. Koons Kia offered me a GREAT price on the exact 2010 Kia Forte that I was looking for. Easily $100 less a month than most of the other dealers in the area. If you are looking for a sales specialist and a dealer that offers a low stress car buying experience - I give my highest recommendation to Jeff Scott and his team at Koons Kia.
