Outstanding Customer Service

Recently, we had to replace our beloved mini-van, originally purchased at Royal South Toyota. Over the years, we loved the routine maintenance and service we received. (Our kids especially loved the kid-friendly waiting area!) There was no question in our minds that, when it came time to purchase our next vehicle, we wanted to work with Royal South again. They helped us find the exact model of Toyota Sienna we were looking for. Every single employee we worked with was kind, helpful, and accommodating to our needs. We highly recommend Royal South Toyota to anyone considering purchasing a vehicle, or simply getting a vehicle serviced. Their customer service is outstanding!

MIA- Gone to Blmngtn Boogies?

I sent them an online query about a leeft over 017 Sienna to see what price deal I could get, got a response via email saying they would contact me asap with my "Special Price". Well several other dealers contacted me asap but nothing from Royal. No surprise that they still have a few 017's with the 019's arriving with non contact procedure!

Great Customer Service

I couldn't have been more pleased with the customer service I got at Royal South. I contacted them after I found a truck online and Andy got back to me right away. He was very helpful and great to deal with. I drove three hours to get there and decided even though the truck was a great deal and exactly what they told me it was, I was actually not ready to purchase a truck. Larry, the salesperson, Andy, and everyone that I dealt with were very understanding and professional. When I am ready to buy, I will be willing to drive to Royal South again.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND DEALERSHIP

Andy Long with Royal South Toyota made my buying experience very enjoyable and gave me the best deal , beating out 3 other dealers who were closer by. He was very pleasant and friendly and easy to deal with, no sales line, just honesty and professionalism and lots of laughs.. Dave Dove took the time to explain everything I wanted to know about my new highlander hybrid! Even paired my phone up and had my vehicle ready to go. Very friendly and courteous, made me feel like my business was the most important sale that day!!! Scott in finance was very thorough and did and excellent job explaining all the legal aspects in detail and was able to get us out of there in a timely matter. The lounging area was very nice plenty of room, and charging station for cell phones , which I needed. My 4 yr. old enjoyed playing on computer while we waited, which was fantastic and he loved the hot chocolate!!! Best car buying experience I have ever had, Andy L. ( G.M). , EVEN CAME IN ON HIS DAY OFF TO MEET MY FAMILY FROM OWENSBORO, KY. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS DEALERSHIP AS A FAMILY AND FRIENDLY DEALERSHIP AND RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Out of state buy - great experience!

I bought a 2015 Toyota Sienna out-of-state from Royal South Toyota and it was a great experience. At first I was a little apprehensive about buying a car I have never seen and have it shipped all the way to Utah, but the team at royal South did everything so I could feel at ease about buying the Sienna. They were completely transparent about the state of the vehicle, even scheduled a live video conference to check it myself! Negotiating with them was easy (no shenanigans) and once we agree on buying conditions, they overnighted the paperwork and even helped me to arrange the shipping. Within a few days my Sienna arrived home exactly as expected, and has been a pleasure to drive ever since. I will definitely buy from Royal South again.

Long story short...DO NOT BUY FROM ROYAL SOUTH!

This is the first time I’ve EVER provided negative feedback to ANY company! I felt the need to do so because I really don’t want this to happen to someone else. I purchased a “certified” pre-owned Ford F-150 Lariat about 6 months ago. I live 4 hours from Royal South Toyota and thought that buying a “certified” pre-owned vehicle with 40k miles from a reputable dealer, what could go wrong, right?!… A LOT!! Everything was shined up when I made the long drive out to get it. It wasn’t until a week later when the deodorizer that they sprayed in the interior wore off and there was a strong, musty smell in the cab that would not go away. I took it in to my local Ford dealership to investigate the smell and they found perforated rust and holes on the bottom of both sides of the cab. This required two new rear quarter panels to be installed (around $7000) which was luckily covered by Ford’s 5 year rust warranty. When I called Royal South, all I got was a “sorry about your luck.” When I got my truck out of the body shop a month and a half later I realized the blender motor for the heating system was not working. This was the first time the heat was ever used sense I’ve owned it. I drove it directly back to Ford and $1,400 and a week later, they put a new motor in (not covered by warranty). At this point I was pretty fed up, I’ve only driven this truck four out of the six months I’ve owned it and put only 4,000 very expensive miles on it! I traded it in for a new truck at my local Ford dealership. After the loss of trade in, taxes, rental car, repairs and not to mention all of my trouble, dealing with Royal South cost me about $6,000-$7,000. It would have been $14,000 if Ford didn’t cover the rust! Don’t make the same mistake! To his credit, I did call Mark Zacharias, customer relations manager at Royal South. I wanted to give him a chance to give me an explanation before I posted this review. He said that there was no excuse of why this should have happened, especially on a “certified” vehicle! Mark was very courteous and apologetic and he said that he would have the pre-owned car manager, Andy Long, call me and he assured me that they’d get to the bottom of it. That was three weeks ago and I have still not received a call or explanation. So, as promised, here is my review. Long story short…DO NOT BUY FROM ROYAL SOUTH!

Royal south Toyota dealership

I bought my Camry from Royal South Toyota and also Mazda 626. I am quite pleased with the Service department at this dealer. They have improved a lot over the last 4 years. I was very unhappy with the Mazda Service department because they charged me twice for fixing the same problem. I would recommend this dealership as I am in the process of buying a new Camry from them this week.

Glad I made the drive to Bloomington

I went to a dealer in Indy and was not at all pleased with the sales personnel. I then made my way to Bloomington and was extremely pleased with the way I was treated. I bought a 2013 Venza and have been very pleased. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend to all.

Buyer Beware

I wish they had a negative star rating. After looking at 30+ pictures online, reviewing the 1 owner clean car fax, and speaking with the salesman on the phone he assured me the vehicle was in VERY CLEAN condition, his words were "Immaculate" and well worth the trip to see it. And provided all the service records available to review. So after reaching a preliminary deal over the phone I decided to drive the 150+ miles to this particular ROYAL SOUTH TOYOTA dealership. BIGGEST MISTAKE AND WASTE OF TIME EVER SPENT SHOPPING for a vehicle. This dealer completely misrepresented the quality and condition of this vehicle. Taking every picture they could that didn't show a single flaw on the vehicle, fancy photography, lighting tricks to block obvious scratches that would turn away most buyers. Once I arrived, it became clear that this vehicle was not as advertised. dog hair all over the car, a hole in the front passenger door that was not shown in the pictures, the headliner looked like 2 dogs fought on top of it, carpet was stained, missing floor mats. The exterior was in no better shape, multiple large scratches and groups of scratches, some through the paint and had began to rust but had been cheaply touched up. The frame was completely rusted, the skid plate had rusted through. So after sighting multiple spots on the exterior the salesman offered to have the SUV wet sanded and buffed, but still wanted more than $500 over "CLEAN" retail and would not come down. This is a Shady Dealership, with crooked salesman. BUYER BEWARE. I did plenty of my homework on this vehicle, and and took every precaution to avoid this type of issue. This salesman and this dealership tried to specifically hide all defects in this vehicle to draw me in and try to get me to buy. This place will never see a dime from me. and I'm telling everyone I know to stay away.

Used Sienna

I did a lot of homework on mini vans and my decision came between a town and country or a Sienna. I searched all over the web for a decently close model of each so I could check them out in person. The second dealer that I went to was Royal South. They had a pretty good used selection of Siennas. I wasn't planning on purchasing a vehicle for 7 months but it was the end of the month and the salesmen told me he needed to sell a car. I couldn't pass up the deal that I got on the van. My only complaint would be lack of parking. It was a very busy day and I had to park next door at their Mazda dealership.

Satisfied Consumer

I had purchased my previous car from this dealership since it is one of my local dealerships. I didn't have the best experience 2 years ago but I found a car that i was very interested in on the internet and it just happened to be at Royal South. I told myself I would never do business there again but this time around was much different. I was dealt with fairly and feel that they were pretty honest with me about the car I was purchasing. They definitely have a repeat customer in me.

Royal Toyota-Volvo when we purchased in 2004

n 2004 we purchased a new Toyota Sienna from this dealership. Although I find purchasing cars a general pain. This dealership I felt dealt with us honestly. Reading reviews of dealerships it is mentioned in several reviews that women are talked down to or kind of ignored. This was not the case. My wife felt very much a part of the buying process. They would get five stars except for recall thing. There was something that had to be done to a back seat belt. I made an appointment. Went in. They had me waiting for like 2 hours. I would go up to the service desk to find out when and they would say a little while longer. Finally they came out and said they didn't have the part. They said they would order it and call us when it came in. They did and it was all of 10 minutes to install.

Run away from this dealer as fast as you can.

I would highly recommend staying away from this dealer at all costs, they are very dishonest in the used cars department at the least. I purchased a used car with 60,000 miles on it from them in "great" condition. Literally the next day it would not start and had to be towed in. It was repaired at my cost, then I drove it home three days later. On the way home the dash lights quit, and the fan switch on the dash stopped working. When it was taken back the next day they found brake problems too, I ended up over $800 in repairs on a car I just bought and did not yet have 30 miles on! After the brakes it went on one or two short trips to the store, and started popping in the front end, upon return to the dealer they stated it was not safe to drive anymore - and I had 50 miles on it!! They would not take the car back, or trade it in, I just asked of they could take the car back and I would let them keep the $800 I had sunk into it and they would not do it. A full lemon in all shapes and forms and they would do nothing at all though it was only two weeks old from my purchase date and I'd only put on 50 miles - 30 of them to the dealer and back! The service department was no good at the repairs done, twice they broke additional items fixing something else. (eg horn did not work after they worked on the fan switch in the dash) Management was no help whatsoever, and I would never recommend this dealer to anyone after seeing how I was treated here. Sad really, but such is life and you live and learn I suppose. I will not support Royal at any of the dealerships he is involved with, it makes me drive more when shopping but it is sure worth it to me anyway. All dealers have their pros and cons, I was just unable to find a single pro here and thought I'd share my experience. Good luck wherever you decide to purchase form!

Very Dishonest!

They don't honor their waiting list for in-demand vehicles. I called and expressed interest in buying a Prius. They "were in a sticky situation and only had one," which they would sell me immediately. Otherwise, I would be on a "four-month" waiting list (which already had 13 people). I asked why the available car wasn't going to the next person on the waiting list--after a while, the salesman admitted that they were trying to make an extra sale because the people on the list "expected to wait." They did sell it that day, and not to any of those customers who'd put down a $500 deposit to be on the list. Incidentally, the waiting period should be 8-10 weeks and the salesman was a rude [violative content deleted].

Charles Royal moved his family of five girls up from El Paso, Texas to Bloomington, Indiana back in 1968, when he purchased the local Chevrolet franchise. Started his first dealership in Bloomington, and over years, he added many franchises and dealerships to the Royal Group. He added Toyota in 1983! Much has changed since those first Toyota sedans we sold back in 1983--but the family who runs the dealership hasn't. Royal South Toyota is still a local, family run business, and Mr. Royal still comes to work every day with a passion for automobiles. Mr. Royal started working at his father's used car lot when he was in high school, and never really left the retail automobile industry. From there, he rose through the ranks of various dealership organizations, eventually becoming a partner in the Bloomington Chevrolet franchise in 1969. The rest, as they say, is history!
