Good Experience - Bought Honda Civic Sedan LX A/T

The end of August 2009 - at the tail-end of the Cash-for-Clunkers Program, I bought a 2009 Honda Civic LX A/T 4D Sedan. The salesman handling internet sales at Carmack is Mark Shields, and I couldn't be more pleased with his service, pricing and pleasant manner. After doing my homework at the Edmunds.com site, I sent in an offer for a car shown on the Carmack web site, and the following morning received a counteroffer at a fair price (about $250 under Edmunds TMV for Midwest) that I decided to go with by calling to confirm. Mark took my Cash-for-Clunkers information over the phone, and most of the paperwork with Shirley in their Finance Department was ready to go before my arrival in the afternoon. I live about 45 miles away and had never been to Carmack before. In and out took about an hour and a half, including a test drive of the new car! Friendly courteous follow-up since then too... Carmack in Danville, IL, is not one of those fancy dealerships with acres of new buildings - it's more a workingman's place to cut a deal and buy a car with a minimum of fuss. If you're in the market for a Honda or Hyundai, I highly recommend you give them a try - might ask for Mark Shields if he's around.
