knowingly selling car w/o gas or oil gauges working

by Checota on 07/15/2018

I bought a 2004 Chevy SSR from Five Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Warner Robins. When I test drove the vehicle, I noticed the gas gauge was in the empty range. I mentioned this to my salesman and he looked at the gauge and said I should be okay for a test drive. My wife and I drove the vehicle for a short while, because I was afraid I would give out of gas. We got back to dealership and I liked the vehicle. Not noticing that the oil gauge was set on a reading of normal. After completing a trade of 2006 Chevy Silverado for $3000 Trade in and $6,000 Cash, I signed the papers to buy the SSR. Let me mention my Silverado work truck had less than 50k miles on it. The SSR had less than 49K miles on it. After a week I noticed the oil and fuel gauges weren't working. I contend that the dealership knew about the gauge problems and knowingly still sold me the SSR anyway. I keep a regular check of the oil and make sure it is a the proper level. I keep check of my gas by the trip meter and low fuel warning light. This is simply a bad way to conduct business. The year before I bought a new Jeep Renegade 2016 from this dealership and was happy with the deal so I figured I would be safe dealing with them again. Boy was I wrong. I would not buy anything else from them, they are unethical.

Steer Clear

by Harriet on 08/09/2017

So, after owning my car for two months, I have to change my review. I'll admit the purchase of the vehicle was fairly easy. I live over 40 minutes from the dealership. And, I work over an hour from it. My salesman (Adrian) knew nothing about my vehicle. HOWEVER, it did not matter because I had completed my own research and knew exactly which vehicle I wanted before I ever went into the dealership. The only thing I had to do was negotiate payments/price. This process took over a week BUT Brandon made sure I got in the "ballpark" of where I wanted to be financially. Now, here comes the cons. Because of my schedule, Adrian drove to me for my signature on the paperwork. Although I asked, he didn't leave me with any copies because he said the finance manager had to look over everything BUT he assured me he would get them to me as soon as possible. Cool, right? Nope. Adrian went on leave the week after my sale. When I went to the dealership to get the paperwork, nobody knew where it was located. When I contacted Adrian, he said I got everything I needed (ONE piece of paper- sales contract) because I had no warranty on the vehicle, which is a 2017 Dodge Challenger by the way. Well, I knew that was not true. After contacting Brandon, he assured me that he would get my paperwork to me immediately. Well, that was over a month ago. And, I'm still waiting. I followed up today and I was told it would be sent to me overnight. At this point, my conclusion is that once they complete the sale, they could care less about their customers. I guess they forgot the vehicle has to be serviced too. So, you would think they would want to keep and maintain their customer satisfaction level! Unfortunately, it's time for my first oil change. Even though I didn't purchase from them, I've decided to use Jeff Smith Dodge for my service needs on the vehicle. After buying a 2013 Dodge Charger in 2013, Mr. Rufus still manages to reach out to me! I definitely regret not taking my business back to him. Lesson learned.... The few thousand dollars difference I got in price is not worth the satisfaction I lost in the process. (Let me also say.... Adrian's change in attitude came AFTER he called to confront me because I did not give him a TEN on the Dodge survey. I gave him a NINE, which he did not deserve because as I stated he knew NOTHING about the vehicle and did not show me ANY of its features. But, because his attitude was pleasant and he "appeared" to be going the extra mile I did in fact give him an undeserved NINE.)

The definition of "Shady Used Care Salesmen" personified. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

by dunnage82 on 12/15/2016

Everything up to actually buying the truck was OK. After that, this dealership has been incredibly shady in dealing with our purchase. We purchased a $46,000 truck and have been treated like garbage ever since we walked out of the dealership. DO NOT deal with this company, their customer service is horrid. After driving off the lot, we noticed a slight shake in the vehicle and asked if we could bring it back to check the alignment. We were told no, we would have to take care of that ourselves. We didn't purchase a $5,000 beater... this is a $46,000 2015 ram 3500. But apparently they don't care. Also, we traded in our truck over 2 weeks ago... they still haven't paid our bank for the trade in and they're telling us to make the payment that is due. Why would I do that... so you have less to pay off so you can put more money in your pocket? I call and ask to speak with a manager and they tell me "None are available, they are ALL in a meeting..." Really... so no one is in charge of the floor... The finance department has failed to fax corrected lien holder information to my financial institution 3 times. 3 TIMES! But they consistently tell me not to worry about my trade in and to make the payment. Don't waste your time with these people. Buy from someone who actually cares about their customers.

Take a shower after visiting, you'll need it

by murphy45p on 06/18/2015

They are deceptive during the sale, just TRY and get the actual sales price of the vehicle you're purchasing. Their used vehicles don't even have prices on them! They will place you into their preferred finance option if you don't watch them either, there are lower interest options. After the sale, the service is TERRIBLE. The service department itself isn't so bad, they just take forever, they won't give you a loaner either. I had Jeep national request a loaner for me while the transmission on my new Jeep was being replaced and the dealership outright refused! They wouldn't provide a rental to Jeep either, I ended up having to go to Enterprise on Jeep's dime. Routine maintenance visits, even when scheduled ahead of time, routinely take 2 hours or more. And they look at problems with vehicles they've sold as someone else's problem. They offer no assistance if they sell you a lemon, and if you buy a Jeep, you've got a lemon. There are many better dealerships out there, I see these guys as [non-permissible content removed] out to make a quick buck from the military families temporarily stationed in Warner Robins.

Unscrupulous deception practices

by cammons on 09/24/2014

This was the absolute worst dealership buying experience ever. I purchased what was sold to me as a new 13 Ram 2500 in January 2014. I had a couple of warranty issues and carried it to a closer dealer who took care of the issues. They printed out a history page on the vehicle and I requested a copy which was given to me without any problem. When I reviewed this report, I was shocked to find my "in service date" was listed as December 26, 2013, 30 days prior to me purchasing the vehicle. This date directly affects the warranty date, which varies depending on the coverage. For instance, the bumper to bumper warranty is sold as a 3 yr/ 36000 mile warranty. Mine is a 35 month/36000 mile warranty. While one month may not seem like a big issue, the owners manual clearly state on a new vehicle the warranty start date will be the purchase date. I clearly bought a new vehicle based on the contract signed and purchase price. I contacted Five Star Ram in Warner Robins and explained this situation to the service adviser. He finally understood the problem but stated he couldn't do anything to change it and refused to address the problem any further. I then contacted Chrysler about it and explained it to a Kendall, who gave me the same response. She stated the warranty starts when the dealership enters the service date for the vehicle and she also refused to address this any further. I then sent out multiple emails to which I received a response from Allen S. of Five Star. He addressed this and I was told the dealership places vehicles in a commercial status required by Chrysler. This sets the in service date and cannot be changed. He then went on to say if I have a problem within the month that coverage has lapsed, just have whoever is doing the work call the dealership and they will approve it. That doesn't make me feel the least bit warm and fuzzy. A verbal agreement to extend a warranty on a vehicle by the very dealership that placed a fraudulent in service date on it in the first place. Ok. That just isn't going to make me happy. At this point, the discussion was over and nothing else can be done for me. I contacted a legal consult but was told no harm has taken place, just unscrupulous practices. Let it be known.

Horrible business practices

by Chuckl00 on 01/21/2014

Purchased a vehicle on 1/20/14. Negotiated the trade of my current vehicle. Once trade in price was agreed to is where it went horribly wrong. The dishonest sales manager managed to inflate the price of their vehicle for sale without me noticing. Ended up paying an additional 1600 dollars over the original price of their vehicle. Contacted sales manager next day with no solution. Filed complaint with better business. Dishonest sales manager with very sleazy techniques. Avoid 5star Warner Robins Dodge Chrysler like the plague.

Best customer service and salesman in Warner Robins

by wtroyster on 11/06/2013

I had a great sales experience at Five Star with Jeff T.! He was the most truthful and up front salesman that I have ever worked with, which is a very important detail when making such a large purchase. He walked me through every step from the beginning to the end and couldn't have been more helpful. My wife and I had our 2 young daughters with us and he kept them occupied while we explored the vehicles which made the experience way less stressful for those that have children you know what I mean. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I am on my 23rd vehicle, so I have been around the sales industry for a while. I HIGHLY suggest this dealership and Jeff as a salesman! you will not be disappointed!

by cliff35 on 07/18/2013

I was greeted by Randy B., who was ok in the beginging. He asked to borrow my keys and attempted to lock them in a lock box. I said this was the way they do business. The sales manager along with a few sales guys would not let me leave. They dont care about you, just your money. I guess I cannot buy or look at what I want to. Weird and rude people.

Great Exeriance with my car purchase

by CSuggs63 on 06/03/2013

My husband and I just purchased an Infinity G37 from Five Star after dealing with four other Atlanta dealers and two Nashville dealers and a very long internet search to find my car. Everything about the experience from the time I found the 'ONE' on cars.com till my husband drove it off the Five Star lot. We drove from Nashville to Warner Robins and basically bought this car without even seeing it. We dealt with Mary R. who went out of the way to answer every question about this car via emails and several phone calls since we would be driving so far and once we got there dealing with Greg P. It ws a great experirence from the time I first inquired on this car to end when it was driven off the Five Star lot and well worth the time, extra travel, and effort to get the "one". Thanks Mary and Greg for your impeciable service on new to me purchase.

Brand New 2013 Ram 1500 with 2010 tires and rims

by dkeith1 on 06/01/2013

Todays date: 06/01/2013 Purchased a brand new ram 1500 in April 2013. We had requested a specific tire/wheel before purchasing the vehicle. Robert (sales guy) said no problem. We arrived on a Monday at 7 pm to buy the truck. Truck looked to be in top shape with the exception of a chip in the paint which Robert promised us touch up paint for (to this date have still not received) Immediately after leaving the lot the tire sensor light came on. I called Robert as the dealership was now closed and he informed me that it was probably just not calibrated when the wheels were swapped and to take it into our local dealership (we had traveled 6 hours to get this truck) and they would calibrate it with no problems or cost to us. The following day I arrived at our local dealership and spent 3 hours waiting only to find out they had no idea what was wrong. I called Robert and he had me speak with Clay (their sales mgr) who went on to say they were pulling my chain & to go to a diff dealership if possible. So, I did. That dealership said the same thing. They could not figure out why it wasn't reading. Also informed us that the tires were cupping and they appeared to be used tires so they could not warranty them through Good Year. I again called Clay in GA who said to take them to another dealership if possible and not to tell them we had the tires swapped before we bought the truck & that was probably why we were having trouble. I never got to this point because in the meantime our local dealership called us back and said they had gotten our new sensors in and to come by so they could try those out. This is when it ALL started making sense! The 2013 sensors ordered looked nothing like the sensors on our 2013 truck. The sales mgr in our town called me and informed me that after further research they found our tires/wheels were at a minimum from 2011 or further back as the type of sensor we had was discontinued mid year 2011!! So, now I called GA sales mgr (Donnie) who gets the whole story and tells me he will call me back. Robert (sales guy) calls me back & says they are going to send me 4 new sensors. I say, no that wont work as they are not going to fit because they are not 2013 tires/wheels! During this conversation Robert reminds me he needs my diploma for proof of graduation since I apparently received a rebate for being a college graduate which I had NO idea I even received as it was only discussed once during negotiation and never again as Robert was supposed to find out if a A.A. degree would be adequate and he NEVER got back to me. I told Robert I would send this proof in when this tire sensor issues was handled to the end! He then tells me "Mrs. Keith you got a hell of a deal on that truck and so it was an "as is" deal". I said what kind of shady crap is that? He said, "that's just how it is when you get that great of a deal". I said, no sir, not on a NEW vehicle! It should be showroom ready with everything NEW! He never denied the tires were used. I called back to speak with Donnie, he told me he was going to speak with Clay (Sales mgr) & would call me in a few min. I never heard back. Today, the following day after being told I would hear back in a few min, I called to speak to Donnie. He gave me to Steve (who said he was the general sales mgr). I asked did he know the whole story & he said "are you the one with the tire sensor issue and rebate form you wont submit?" I said yes. He came back with "well, you won't get anything else out of us until we get our rebate form". I said, well you sold us a brand new truck with used tires so I guess we need an attorney and he said "then we are done here" and hung up on me. I have NEVER been so flabbergasted by a company. We should not have to beg for NEW wheels/tires on a NEW vehicle (32 miles to be exact)!

New Car Purchase experience

by csvoigt on 12/08/2012

I purchased a 2013 Dodge Durango from Five Star Chrysler Jeep Dodge on 7 Dec 12 and it was one of the best car buying experiences I've ever had. My salesman Patrick was attentive, knowledgeable, and addressed every need I had. I was greeted by the General Manager (can't recall his name) but he provided me one on one attention and assisted in streamlining the appraisal of my trade-in and the back and forth between the sales tower. They were able to meet all my needs and were able to quickly come to a mutual agreement with both the trade and purchase of the new Durango. The finance rep (Josh) was straightforward and efficient and made the paperwork process extremely easy and also explained everything thoroughly when I had questions. My salesman Patrick assisted me when removing my personal belongings from my trade and made sure I was his #1 priority until I left the dealership with my new car. Overall an outstanding experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for a new vehicle. Great work! S.V.

Good Experience Dealing With This Dealer

by bevla on 03/06/2012

My salesman was Jeremy Coleman. He was recommended to me by Tina Hester, my service tech at the Five Star dealership. Jeremy worked closely with me to negotiate an acceptable deal and I highly recommend him. He loaned me a new vehicle until mine could be shipped from a dealer in Tennessee that had the features I requested. I cannot say enough about the assistance Jeremy gave me through the entire process including helping me three weeks later when another vehicle did extensive damage to my new Durango. It was repaired by the Five Star Collision Center which is listed as a preferred repair center by my insurance company. The entire process was handled wonderfully by all parties concerned and for that I thank them profusely.

Quality Staff with non-threatening approach

by bender10 on 02/22/2012

My wife and I have purchased two used vehicles from Five Star Chrysler in Warner Robins GA and both experiences have been more than pleasant. This is more than likely due to having Randy Burkey as our salesman. Both purchases were made easily and efficiently with no stress and receiving no pressure from Mr. Burkey. He administered his knowledge and insight with ease and made the overall purchasing experience fun and painless. The financing and negotiating process was also made more seamless by working with both Mr. Burkey and Mr. Steve McWilliams. My wife and I, who are both skeptical and cautious individuals, highly recommend Five Star Chrysler and plan on returning to this dealership for our future purchases.
