Poor sales, finance and service departments

by rjohn on 08/20/2019

I have had a wide variety of issue with this dealership. 1.) They never completed the paper work with the state so it took 2 months to get a new tag. 2.) Then they never notified the state that they bought by F150 so my license was suspended for not having insurance on a truck that they own. 3.) No one ever calls you back 4.) I was specifically told that if I had a leak in the Jeep that the 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty would cover it. I brought it in and they do not cover. They are asking for $150 for diagnosis (I told them what was wrong) and $600 for parts and labor. I DO NOT recommend this dealership as I have had trouble with sales, finance or service departments.

2016 Ram purchase

by ThomasTa on 01/01/2017

Before driving up from Bradenton, I had a set price from Jason. The dealership was easy to find. I met with Jason who then handed me off to Sheryl Falco. She brought the truck around, had me take a short test drive and explained many features of the vehicle. There was a brief negotiation regarding value of my trade in which was settled within 15 minutes. Then the paperwork!! Jim (I believe) had all of the forms printed and ready to sign. All very professional. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new vehicle.

Our experience at Ferman was one we've never had! No Sales Person on your heels trying to sell you a vehicle. You literally window shop until you are ready, Then you go find a Sales Person! They are then more than eager to assist in the buying experience! Thank you for a Wonderful shopping/buying experience!

Unethical

by Camsdad13 on 07/13/2015

I've bout a few cars from here. 2 in the last couple years. They have gone down hill considerably. I received an email showing an Internet price for a truck I had been looking at. I inquired about it and didn't receive a phone call or email back. So I called on the vehicle. They had the vehicle to purchase and I told them I'd come over to purchase. I was instructed that new rebates would be available two days from then and I should wait till then. I waited and went to purchase the vehicle and they raised the price up over $3000. They claimed that Ram took away the rebates.... I bought elsewhere... I then go to the dealership to cancel the coverages I bought from them on the vehicle I traded in that I bought through them. The finance manager told me I would have my money back in a few weeks. I had to fill out a form for cancellation and show him the sales agreement showing the trade. 3 months later no refund. I go to he dealership and there is no record of cancelation. Luckily since they lied to me before, I asked for a copy of of he cancelation agreement I filled out 3 months ago and I had that with me signed by the finance guy who never turned it in. I would avoid this dealership. The unethical pricing and "losing" paper work is unacceptable. They have turnover regularly. Very poorly managed.

Very Happy First-time Buyer!!

by macktown76 on 07/14/2014

I could not have found a better vehicle or price!! As a first-time buyer, I was very apprehensive and did not want to get "screwed over". My experience was great! Ken and the gang did everything they could to get me the best deal possible. My family and I are extremely happy with the car we purchased and highly recommend this dealership!

Buyers Beware

by susie13 on 09/02/2012

We stopped into this dealership's part department and were not planning on buying a car, but while there we decided to look at the new cars. We were approached by at least 5 salesman. We did see a particular highly optioned vehicle that we liked, so we did take it for a test drive. In trying to get a simple price, the dealer just played games about the payment. The dealer never would give a price until we signed a loan application first. We very specifically told the dealer not to pull our credit until we had agreed on the price. They did not honor our request. It nearly took an act of congress to even get them to give us an actual sales price. The dealer would not give us fair trade, and refused to disclose the obviously high interest rate that they had negotiated on our behalf - without our permission - specifically against our wishes. We should have known we were in trouble when the salesman claimed that dealerships only make $800 on a car sale - come on - they all charge a $500 or higher "dealer fee" - so that means that they only make $300 on a car and yet can still afford to pay their electric bill. We went to another dealer and found a nearly identical vehicle - the original sticker prices were within$1000, but the second dealer negotiated a price and financing terms that ended up actually saving us about $20,000.00 overall - yes $20,000.00. It really pays to shop around. I suggest that you shop other dealers first - almost any of them will treat you with more respect. The final straw was when the Pete from Ferman told us that maybe we couldn't afford the vehicle we were looking at and then did the old "bait and switch". He then came back with no rebates (Dodge was offering 3500 on the vehicle) and mysteriously the amount being offered on our trade was decreased by $700. In 5 minutes our same exact vehicle actually decreased in value by this amount. It was when the salesman flat out told us that because the lower level vehicle he was switching us to was of lower profit margin that they had to lower our trade. It was so obvious that they did not care one bit about the customer - only their own bottom line. Now I understand business - but these people were just trying to take advantage of the customer - definitely not interested in serving the customer.

HORRIBLE!

by ratingsguru99 on 05/03/2012

HORRIBLE! Dont buy a used from them. They will tell you it passed an 18-point inspection but wont provide you with the documentation to prove it! Next thing you know you car will have 100 things wrong with it and they will even lie when you file against them with BBB.And beware of the warranty. Its itemized, but their documents dont say that, and of course they wont tell you that. Fred, used car manager = AWFUL!

Beware, stay far away from!

by awilhelm1 on 09/04/2008

Let's see, I purchased a 06 PT Cruiser Conv from them very good service at that time from Todd. Had the vehicle 1 NIGHT and did not like the way it drove & handled. So, I choose to return the vehicle the next day. With no questions asked from Ferman. I told Todd I would continue to work with him and only him until we found a vehicle that would work. Which I did keep in touch with him. Two weeks later he called me and said I have a car that will work for you, a 07 Pontiac G5. I drove 45 minutes to go look at it, I loved it. This was already after them KNOWING what I WILL QUALIFY for. Then 4 days later I went &put down $500 cash towards the vehicle. Was told I was to come back the next day to finish, sign & drive & give the remaining $500 deposit. Todd called my boyfriend and told him for me to come down now and he'd have us in/out in 2 hours. I then drove out there with my daughter getting there at 3:15, when I got there he told me it would NOT work, gave me a 3 page list of cars to chose from then NO ONE spoke 1 word to me until 6:15 when I was leaving. A gentleman named Marcus went out of his way to help me; test drove a car, etc. I found a car I liked. Marcus then went to tell Scott the F&I Mgr. that I found a car. My 15 y.o. daughter & I waited for about 10 minutes for Marcus to come back, he NEVER did. Then all of a sudden the lights were turned off, Scott the F&I Mgr walked by us gave us a dirty look and then proceeded to lock the doors. In the meantime, my daughter and I are sitting in the dark with no one saying a word to us. After 15 minutes of no one saying anything to us I proceed to go out a side door. My truck was locked in 1 gate so I had to drive around to get out. My boyfriend then called Todd who told him he knew nothing about it. He would look into it. And for me to come in Sunday to finish the deal if I was still interested. On Sunday I took my friend Melanie with me. I was in the back of the bldg by the restrooms and Todd came up to me, "YELLING AT ME TO SHUT MY MOUTH, TURN MY CELL PHONE OFF, AND MY FRIEND SAID SOMETHING TO HIM AND HE TOLD HER TO STAY OUT OF IT IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HER.. HE THEN TURNED TO ME AND SAID DO WE HAVE AN CLEAR UNDERSTANDING" I then told him "I was 35 years old, not 5". My boyfriend then arrived; we gave Todd what he needed to do to complete the deal, he told us to come back in 1 hour we could then sign & drive. Well, again we were lied to. This behavior is completely uncalled for and I literally felt like I was treated less than a piece of dirt, needless to say I left the dealership crying. I have never had a sales person yell at me and point their finger in my face, lock me in the dealership in the complete dark. Needless to say I never purchased the vehicle from them. I proceeded to [violative content deleted] were I received excellent service!
