Disappointed experience

by Lstrike on 01/07/2018

Mixed experience mostly negative. I was in a car accident a few days before trying to find a new car quick since my rental was going to run out soon and was gonna be a burden for my family and co workers to take me to work, the company I work for was nice enough to let off early to go car shopping. So I'm driving around looking for a new car, not finding anything I like. So I pull over and start looking on the web and I see a Mitsubishi outlander sport 2011 for sale by Mitsubishi city. I give them a call to see if the car is still available and they tell me it's not but have some others for me to look at. So they texted me a few other cars none to my liking. Then I received a call saying they actually did have the car in. So I drive over there and they had the car pulled to the side. The dealer opens the door for me, I look around in the car, wasn't really cleaned, I mean they did clean it but a very poor job at it. We go for a small 8 minute test drive and come back to the office, I like the car. We get to paper work and was kind of rushed through it wasn't a very comfortable. I ask for the maintenance paperwork and the sales person responded "I'll get them to you" so I was like ok. So I told them that my old car payments were $150 and didn't want to go much over that. They said ok. They come back with $271 month which was a lot over the what I wanted to pay. But being first time alone shopping for a car I got suckered into it, and they suckered me into a 3 year extended warranty that cost $2,597. I was not shown exactly what this covered. At the end of it all I ended getting a 103,000 mile car for $14,819.86...... looking at the paperwork in the installations and conditions part I see "delivery fee 699.00" I don't get what that is exactly. The car was already there. So that $700 for nothing. I end up not having all the paperwork they needed so I came back the next day to pick the car up. I noticed a big scratch/dent at the drive door handle I didn't notice before cause the dealer opened the door for me. I didn't notice the broken over head light for the driver side, the loose over head vanity mirror that comes down every time you hit a bump and the broken arm rest. I say screw it could of probably got some cash taken off of it but hell I'll deal with it. So I take the car to a car wash, get it cleaned up properly, and then wax it and detail the interior myself. 4 days after buying the car "as is" a check engine light comes on......"hmmmm" so I pull the code p0420 (Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1).I would be fine with like a week or 2 weeks after but 4 days and only 30 miles added, that's a little suspicious. I got the my Carfax app and got the free Carfax on the vehicle and saw that they put "No start/Hard start condition checked" I was not informed of any of this since they never gave me the maintenance records on the car, even the second time I asked when leaving with the car.So email the sales person, she tells me to call Charlie in service in the morning. So I call Charlie in the morning. I told him the code I pulled and say they had a issue with the car. he told me they changed a battery on it. I asked him if I could bring it in so he could try to fix this issue for free since it was never disclosed to me. He asked if the extended warranty would cover a catalytic converter it does not. He they said "well you bought it as is so I don't know what we can do for you" he then put me to the manager, I then get sent to the front desk telling me the manager is not in but the other one Scott is. She put me over to him, im then greeted by a voice machine I leave a message for Scott at 10AM and never got a call back. So I try again tomorrow and I get a hold of him, I tell him my problem and was asking if they would fix the problem for free and he was very iffy about it "let me put you to service" I told him I wouldn't be able to answer right away cause I'm at work. He said ok. I never got a call back. So pretty bad experience. Still have the problem and left in the wind here.

great experience!

by Kim on 11/15/2017

I was helped by Tina Kelly. She showed me a few different cars and I test drove 2 of them. She was not pushy like most car salesman are, which I really appreciated. I ended up buying a Ford Escape and I love it!

Best dealership ever!

by Megan on 11/15/2017

I just bought my first car from a dealership and I am so incredibly happy with the whole process. The whole staff was amazing and very kind. I highly recommend going to Tina for your next purchase. She genuinely made sure that I was happy and comfortable with my entire expierence. She didn't feel like a sales person, and I never felt pressured. She is amazing, and I will definately come back for our families next car!

Terrible Customer Service and Terrible Company Attitude

by Alyssa_H on 10/15/2017

I bought a 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0, 4-door sedan on September 23, 2017 from City Mitsubishi at 10575 Atlantic Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32225. This car dealership is under the general manager Melvin Jackson. I am a part-time employee and a full-time student. On September 23, 2017 I signed the first contract at 6.25% interest rate with $352.02 as a monthly payment. The entire company knew I was only part-time and still let me leave the dealership with my new car and my old car traded in. Jax Federal Credit Union saw I was a first time buyer and made me resign documents a week later with a new standard percentage rate of 8.25% and a monthly payment of $333.15. One of the managers at City Mitsubishi explained it was just because I was a first time buyer. A few weeks later both finance managers were fired because they tried to rig the system and say I was a full-time employee. A new finance manager joined at City Mitsubishi and contacted me because now I needed to have a cosigner because Jax Federal Credit Union found out I was only part-time. I went into City Mitsubishi on October 14, 2017 to have my grandmother resign with me and putting her as the cosigner. The new finance manager didn’t talk through the documents or explain anything and had horrendous customer service. I read the new contract and they changed everything but verbally told me and grandmother that it was the same and tried to get me to sign without reading it. I told the finance manager that I needed to see it and held it and he walked out of the room rudely and told me to hurry up. I noticed they changed the credit union I was going to finance through, in addition to making me the cosigner, increasing my interest rate to 12.85% and making my payments roughly $400. I saw that and walked out leaving with my old car and leaving City Mitsubishi with now a used car I didn’t pay anything on with 1,000 miles put on it. The general manager Melvin Jackson during this experience had shockingly terrible customer service and laughed and thought the whole situation was humorous. Also, the new finance manager ignored me and rolled his eyes when I asked for his business card. This car dealership was extremely unprofessional and tried to lie to get me to sign thinking they could get away with that.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

by Marisa on 06/11/2017

I had been looking at a car for while and had been in contact with a sales representative. The man had asked me and my mother to drive from our home to come visit the dealership and view the car. This is no problem other than we live two hours and a half hours away. So we told the sales representative that we were on the way and would be there between one and two. We arrive at the dealership at one thirty to find that the car had been sold out from under us. Overall this has been the worst experience I've ever had with a dealership, and I have also made sure to tell everyone I know and everyone I met just how your car sales work.

First time at a dealership

by Phill_G on 05/30/2016

So, this was my first experience dealing with a dealership. I was hesitant due to the reputation of the "stereotypical car salesman." My experience, however was a pleasant surprise. The sales department here is very polite and courteous, and speak plainly. They were also very accommodating. I ended up test driving three cars before I was ready to talk numbers. They gave a very fair appraisal for my trade in, and helped me get good financing options. The service department is also, in my experience, excellent. Very polite and helpful, and after my car came back from getting detailed, I was very pleasantly surprised. There is clearly a lot of attention to detail in pride in their work. In short, my entire experience here has been wonderful, and I would recommend city Mitsubishi to anyone in the market for a car.

horrable customer service

by OurCar2015 on 10/19/2015

We bought a 2015 Outlander and love every part of it. The customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. When signing our papers we were so rushed to sign every thing and the only thing we got when done was a copy of our bill of sale and that was it. We were told that we were going to with one bank which we were very excited about then the bank want a proof of residence which was not a problem, we just had to wait on my water company to send me a bill with my fiance on it. We were told that we had till Monday which was three days later to get it to them. Well I brought it in on Monday and was told they went through a different bank. So they didn't want to do the leg work to go back to the other bank for us. They made us feel like all they wanted was our money. When I called to talk to our sales rep and the manger we were told they were busy how ever I could hear them joking around in the back ground. Second thing is we started to call about our tag and were told that they sent all the paper work off, but after making phone calls and playing phone tag for weeks between the dealership and the bank we found out that the paper work hadn't been sent out yet. So I called an told the dealership that the DMV only needed the title to register the car and that was when I was told that I needed to sign a non-residence form. When I asked why I hadn't been called to get it done I was told that they didn't know why. My temp tag has expired and I am not able to get another one. Once I received a copy of the title I noticed that on the back it had the wrong lien holder on it. So I called to find out if it mattered and was told that it does and that they had to redo my paperwork. This was last week that they said they would rush to get our tags and after calling today they still haven't sent anything off to get my tags for the car. I recommend there new cars, but if you can go some were else to get then I would. They just want your money and for you to get out. The sales manager is rude and has no respect to customers and has no problem lying. I called his cell number along with one of his sales reps numbers and was told that they were off that day. So I call the dealership to talk to someone and was told that they both were there and standing right in front of them.
