sold the car to someone else even though I left a deposit

Recommend this dealer? NoUpdated! Purchased a vehicle from this dealer? No

I thought going to a high end dealer like a Jag dealer would provide a certain level of integrity. I was wrong. The salesman was Howard Norup. I left a deposit on wed. evening and returned with my credit app on Thurs. (my credit is excellent so no problem getting a loan). Got a call from the salesman on Fri. saying his boss had sold the car to someone else. Well, that deal must have fallen through because they called and e-mailed me all day Sat. to come in because the car was still on the lot and they would "explain" what happened. I'm sure what happened is that someone came along willing to buy the car for more than the price I was given so they broke the deal I had. Then the other deal fell thru and suddenly it's all a big mistake and they'll (the salesman's words) "do whatever we have to to make you our customer". Too little, too late. I would not recommend this dealership.
