TERRIBLE SERVICE
Written by agosto on 09/24/2010
We were very happy when we bought our Mazda3 with Willy W.(great guy, internet sales dept.) back in Oct 2008. I would definitely buy a car form him 100 times again. NOT so much though with the service. IT takes forever even an oil change, the employees are for the most part not friendly adn it always takes at least 30'' to 60'' more time of what they said it will take. But what happened to us this week was over the top. WE received a letter from MAZDA about a power steering recall for our car, and my wife experience loosing power on the steering wheel 2 times before. She freaked out when that happened but fortunately nothing happened and she was by herself. Now this letter confirms that there is a problem and there where many accidents because of this. We have a 6 month old baby, our first baby, and he has his car seat on the MAZDA 3. The letter states that they can't fix every car now and that we will be informed in the future about the fix, on a second letter. I called the dealer immediately..(I can't have my 6 month-old baby on such an unreliable car...) to tell them that my wife experienced the problem and I was concern about it, asking if I was possible at all to fix it now, that is without waiting, since we had experience the problem and considering that we have a YOUNG BABY!!! Well nobody on the phone gave CLEAR directions as to what to do, neither the receptionist nor personnel from service. Finally a lady told me to bring the car, in relation to the RECALL, so they can check it and "maybe you have to leave it for the weekend because we don't have all the parts". So I set an appointment for the next day: friday, september 24 @ 2pm. Dealer is not close to my house, it takes me 45'' to get there. Upon arrival, a manager asked me if I had an appointment and what for. I explain to him and he said: "we are not fixing any on this problem until december, all we know is what you have on the letter"..I replied: "well...how I am supposed to trust this car until then, particularly with my baby..AND why in the world you make me waste 3 to 4 hr of my busy working time on a weekday going there for nothing. He replied: " all I can do for you is check a code..if there is code I can call MAZDA (?) if there is no code I can't do anything..I asked: "what code are you talking about, can you explain and elaborate in plain english?" he replied: well, we have no parts, we can't fix it until december, I can check for A CODE now if you want...and tell your wife that the car can be driven, tell her to check a VIDEO (!) on the mazda website that tells you what to do. !!!" Then he proceeded to check the code, without explaining to me what that was..and said: "there is no code, I can't do anything, tell your wife to watch the video..thanks" OMG! I came back home frustrated, upset and profusely angry about my experience and when my wife asked me about the car and the issue, I breathed and told her: " SWEETHEART DON'T WORRY just check on mazda.com a video that will tell you what to do in case you loose control of the steering wheel again, while traveling with our 6 month old baby, there were many accidents in regards to this recall but trust MAZDA, THEY ARE THERE FOR US
