Best Sales and Service Dealership

Colonial Ford in Danbury will always have my business. They are professional, honest and knowledgeable. I feel safe, valued and cared about by their sales and service staff. I love my Ford Escape. It handles like a dream and is a pleasure to drive. Knowing that they have an excellent service department makes this the best choice for me.

Terrible experiance as first time FORD customer

Very very disappointed and dissatisfied how a new customer can be treated and since all issues were not due to me changing my mind, being patient waiting 20 plus months. Very frustrated the dealership did “nothing” to help or talk to FORD corporate opposed to saying my issue is with FORD. I am a new customer, a shareholder and x-plan partner , this is really a terrible experience and major issue with customer service and poor business practice, clearly the customer is not a priority. 1. 12/27/2021 Initial order Maverick – DORA # D046 as X-plan partner (PIN: P-49-047-07 ) , – email odr confirmed by Ford , was not requested to sign PO and no deposit by dealership 2. 9/16/2022 reorder DORA #D038 – new model yr, original color not avail., – email confirm 3. Rye NY Ford dealership closed, notified order xfer to Colonial Ford Westchester – no call from new dealership 4. 6/19/2023 (18 mns later) call from different dealership (Pat Onorata) – Colonial Ford Danbury CT, my vehicle is delivered BUT I told them it was the wrong color (RED) , should be carbonized grey as note by order D038 i. No explanation of mix up, told car being built, BUT it has an additional option – 360 video (not order by me), told cannot change order 5. 6/27/2023 – I asked about price protection given it was ordered in 2021, told none since there was no signed PO and no deposit when order was place. a. Provided new PIN (P-54-411-18) for x-plan and deposit $500 6. 6/29/2023 – opened case with FORD Marketing center – CAS43688820 – informs me of I qualify for “transition program” based on VIN (3FTTW8F9XPRA6268), but need to work with dealership a. Talk to dealership, they say no additional discount aside from x-plan price based on vehicle model year opposed to when order. Does not qualify for “transition pgm” since no signed PO and no depot when order placed. b. Spoke to Sales manager (Vincent Pelliteri,) told me same situation, I asked for area manager, he said no longer exists, call customer support. c. I already asked the FORD marketing center rep for area manager, they said do not have a contact person/number, there are too many, ask dealer) 7. Dealer sends email, take delivery by 8/15 otherwise they will cancel order and refund latest deposit. 8. Only good job was the delivery but getting to that point was a nightmare, plus I did not get the original color (discontinued in next model yr) plus I paid much more than the price I ordered it for 20 months prior.

Need to hire qualified mechanics

4 service items. Oil change, 4 wheel alignment or slight drift to left, rear end cluck on parking lot maneuvers, engine tick when cold outside. Charged 1 hour to tell me it is aligned to spec. [still drifts and did not give alignment print out. Charge 1 hour to drive and tell me no clunk on turns. I reported parking lot turns. There is a service bulletin to program PCM. Not addresses. Told tick is normal. Happy with this report. Picked up car. Loss of power and massive smoke out exhaust. Check engine oil and is way way high on dip stick. Had to speak with Service Manager to get immediate service to lower oil volume. He did do that. Thanks. But was told oil was only 1 pint high. I suspect it was 2 quarts high since turbo charger was blowing it out exhaust. Hopefully did not damage catalytic converter. Everyone was nice except the female service writer. Has poor phone skill. Check in guy and mechanics very respectful to me. SM is understanding. Disappointed in quality and follow thru this time. Usually not like this. I hate being lied too so they can cover a mistake. I was a mechanic/tech for 25 years. Just too bad that COVID as set the new normal as take it or go somewhere else. 2019 Escape. 20Dec2021

Recall for back up mirror on Ford Escape

I would give the service dept. a 5 star rating except for the time. I made an appt for 8:00 AM for a recall. When I called at 2:00 PM I was told my car was just being taken in then. When I questioned the appt time I was told that time was just to see an adviser. I didn’t need to speak to an adviser, the appt was for a recall.

2017 F150 Service

Complete 4 wheel rotors and pads to correct pulsing from wear. Replaced oul pan completely for leaking gasket and reprogramed the PCM and TCM with latest code to correct harsh shifts. All I paid for was the brake. CPO warranty works well as does the sevice department at Colonial Ford. Totally satisfied with work, price and communications. Would recommend to any friends.

Diesel fuel system

32000 miles on a 3year old diesel truck and they say that it was contaminated fuel that caused the $9000 repair. Funny part is they said they cleaned the fuel tank 18 months earlier when there was an issue that they covered because it was a $500 repair. After I was told they weren’t covering the repair even though it’s under warranty I looked inside the fuel tank and it was completely clean. So I’m not sure how it got contaminated since none of my other trucks had an issue and I change the filters every 8000 miles even though the Ford manual says every 22000 miles. After 20 years and 10 Ford trucks I’ll never by another Ford again.
