Bait and Switch HORRIBLE

by DinaTL on 04/21/2019

I have been a loyal customer of Prestige for years and have purchased many vehicles from them. I called to talk to my normal sales person and the gal that answered the phone tells me, "he was forced to retire." I talk to a new gal and find a truck that I want to purchase. I was given a price on the truck, but when I went to "firm up the deal" I was informed the price was actually $8000 more because she didn't include the price of the lift. What? If the truck is already lifted and I ask the price then of course I want the total price to buy the truck. Later on I called the same sales person and decided that instead we would like to buy one of the new Jeep Gladiators. I was given a price of $59,900. After much back & forth I tell her I want to buy it and what deposit amount does she need? She says, "we need 5k down, oh and by the way, this truck is going for 10k OVER sticker price." WHAT? I was a loyal customer but this bait and switch on pricing should be illegal. I called to speak with the sales manager but waited all day and never received a return call. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at this dealership but will never be back. I hope Jeep is aware of what they are doing.

Total Scam of a Place, Bait and Switch, Beware!

by bstevenf on 05/15/2018

What a scam of a place!!! First, look at their website, they have what they call "Final Price" and "Conditional Final Price". First the Conditional price, you can kiss that goodbye...this is what is a loss leader to make people feel they can get a deal and make the dealer have much lower numbers to put on their website than they will actually sell a car for. OK, so you maybe think your "Final Price" number on the website is accurate...NOPE, think again. This is the Final number BEFORE the fine print. Now in the fine print, on the last page of the ad, there is a little tiny note that says... "**All prices online exclude tax, tag, title and $497 doc fee. Also excludes dealer installed options. Dealer retains all rebates. Not all buyers will qualify for pricing or all rebates. Some residency restrictions may apply. " Now, this is the "Helps us to sleep at night disclaimer". OK, so most places tax, tags, title and doc fee are fairly standard. But the "Also excludes dealer installed options", is where they get you. They install a bunch of crap that you don't need, nor probably want... and then charge you +/- $2280 for them over and above the price you agreed on. Some of those charges... $195 for Nitrogen in your tires. Your kidding, right? $1195 for a sad excuse for a tint job on the windows. (Who has ever paid $1195 for a basic tint job??) $295 for GPS tracking, (which you then have to pay a monthly fee for) $595 for "Red Alert" which I was told was a system that makes your brake lights flash when you brake to make them more noticeable.??? The sad part is, I am sure 80% of people never even catch this on the invoice. Me, I did, and I was pretty upset because I intentionally called to get the number agreed upon before I drove almost an hour to sign the papers. To show up and find this "Bait and Switch". So Sleazy! Read the fine print people. They are going to do this to you too. Out of principle alone, I will never be able to buy a car from sleazy salespeople like this. And to top it off, I went back in before I left to ask for the manager, hoping someone has a bone of ethics in their body, to find that the gentleman who pulled all this over on me, WAS the "Desk Manager". Then he proceeded to walk up to me and get in my face in a threatening manner when I said he was a sleazy salesman and should be ashamed. So it runs deep, this activity is engrained and not changing anytime soon. Trust me, do NOT do business with them. I never will ever again.

Hard sell to the maximum

by Scalawag2 on 03/25/2018

Awhile back, I was looking for an inexpensive, dependable car to use as a commuter car for a job 45 miles from home. We My husband and I looked at a few and then decided we might look at a 2002 Chrysler. The car's headlights had very faded plastic, so you could tell that it would not have good headlights at night. We began to discuss possible purchase with the sales person and here is what we got. The salesman began an aggravating back-and-forth, acting like he was negotiating with a higher-up about maybe them replacing the headlight covers, and maybe giving us a deal. This back-and-forth went on for over an hour. Then, the salesperson started pressuring us to buy the car anyway. The salesman kept asking questions, to the point that it became pestering. As the salesperson was asking more nagging questions to my husband (even though I was the one buying the car), my husband finally said to him, if you push that question on me one more time, I and my wife are walking out that door. Well, the pushy salesman just could not resist, and he pushed one more time. Guess what? We got up and walked out and left that place. The salesman ran out behind us and literally chased us across the parking lot, trying to get us to go back inside. That was it, the last straw. Since then, we have purchased six cars and NOT ONE of them was from Prestige Chrysler. We have driven back by numerous times and always discuss that overly pushy sales person. Our time and our money will never again be spent at Prestige. We call the place PESTige Chrysler.

Typical "car salesman" experience

by happyjeeppeeps on 07/13/2015

We were in the market for two vehicles. We ended up purchasing one new vehicle at an alternate dealership because they were the lowest price. We did however buy a used fully loaded Grand Cherokee for $20k++ They didn't detail it or fill it up with gas. I asked our sales guy for water and he directed me to the fountain or told me I could buy one at the vending machine... It's the little things that say a lot in my opinion. Treat me right and with respect and I'll be a returning customer. I will not be purchasing new or preowned from this dealership again.

Used car buyer beware.

by mattneujahr on 10/06/2010

I bought a used vehicle from here recently. I live about 400 miles from the dealership and found it online. I called on it and was told it was in excellent mechanical condition, and that the salesman, Phil, had personally taken the vehicle on trade and assured me it was a great vehicle. After we made a deal he called and said it needed a tune up. I showed my concern of buying a vehicle sight unseen that suddenly had problems. He assured me it was fine. They met me half way with the vehicle and shortly after hitting the interstate the service engine light came on and it flashed at idle, which indicates a major problem. I took it to my mechanic when I got back and it ended up being the intake gasket. They said they'd help me with it and gave me $220 on a $650 dollar bill. They made up their own estimate and split it in half. It had a different brand spark plug in the cylinder that was misfiring, so they lied about the tune up and obviously lied about everything else. I requested the service order that their mechanics had on it to help my mechanic with diagnosis to try and save myself some money and couldn't even get that from anyone. I know buying a vehicle sight unseen was a risk on my part, but something as major as an intake gasket is ridiculous. Theres no way it could have left the lot locally with that problem. I paid cash for the vehicle and the salesman said as soon as the check cleared they would send the title within two days. Its been 18 days and no title, and the service manager, Bob, who was also no help at all and is now ignoring my emails and who made up his own estimate regardless of what the bill was, told me 3 days ago they would be sending the title out soon. I have yet to get an honest answer from anyone, including management. I've had the truck 18 days and have had $650 in repairs and no title. If lies, poor customer service and [violative content deleted] mechanics are what your looking for, this is the place. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a used vehicle or a place to have work done.
