I have an update on the prior review that i was not happy about. The owner John Patterson have reached out to me and have assigned Tony, the general manager to help us resolved the issue we had yesterday. it turns out that it's not Huntington Beach Mazda fault but it's rather just one of the Manager (Bob) that was onsite yesterday that was giving us a "don't care" attitude without able to resolve anything related to our concern. We appreciate the owner and General Manager of Huntington Beach Mazda for understanding the issue and for the effort of correcting the issue. Today deal was closed and handled personally by the General Manager Tony and should be an example for all others managers to follow. Thank you Mr Peterson and Tony for providing us a good sales experience. We are glad that the Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Westminster and Garden Grove still have a nice Mazda dealer for us to buy and service Mazda car. We are recommending Huntington Beach Mazda again and change yesterday bad experience rating back to the way it should be.

Horrible sale experience even as a returned customer

Do yourself a favor, save time and go somewhere else for a Mazda. Browning Mazda, Mazda of Orange or even Capistrano Mazda is worth the drive. UNPROFESSIONAL, UNTRUTHFUL even to returned customer. . I live in Fountain Valley and bought a car from them in May 2019. The day i closed the deal, their computer was down for 4 hours. I was there at 10AM and the paperwork was not done until 3PM. Last week, trying to support the local dealer in the Fountain Valley - Huntington Beach area, i forget about the May transaction and took my brother there to buy another car. All the prices were all negotiated ahead and finally my brother came on Saturday to close the deal. But there was not enough finance manager to handle the work so he needs to wait at least 3 hours for his turn. My brother family left and was promised to have his paperwork 1st thing in the morning on Sunday. Saturday night, he received a call notifying his car that he was going to buy was sold to another customer. They then called him back later on Sunday and said they found another car but he already made plan and was unable to come on Sunday. He told them he will come today, Monday 9/23 evening, and ask them to be ready. Today he left work early , skipped dinner took his whole family to the dealer, i was joining them as well, to find out that current manager BOB could not authorize the deal because Tony, another manager, is not here to approve. We ask them to call Tony and was refused. What a lame excuse, a bunch of unprofessional, untruthful, group of people. I am not sure why the owner even tolerates this kind of behavior and it looks like they don't have any type of customer oriented training (yet the ad did say "it's the people" when it should really says "it's my unprofessional people". If you can't honor your deal that you promised by mistake, just tell the customer and stop wasting their time. Nothing is worse for a customer is to leave work early, skip dinner and drag his wife and a 10 years old boy and 7 years old daughter to the car dealer to have such kind of treatment. You are not the only Mazda dealer in Orange county, I know Browning Mazda, South Bay Mazda, I know Victor from Mazda of Orange, I know Diego, A J, Tom (Manager) from Capistrano Mazda and we surely don't need to buy a Mazda from your dealer. We will notify our friends in all the Asian community groups (especially Vietnamese) to let them know about the experience we received today. We will also notify Mazda of America about the type of dealer that they have in their network that may not give good reputation to the Mazda brand. We also strongly recommend the owner to review and keep an eye closely on the customer satisfaction process that is being executed at Huntington Beach Mazda.
Down to Pleasant Business

Six years ago we happened into Huntington Beach Mazda for other reasons. However, my wife spotted a silver Miata GT and fell in love with it. It was obvious she wanted the car, yet they still worked very hard to win our business. They were up front and professional. All the staff showed genuine interest in what was good for us. They were so good we went back this year and bought another car there. It's a great dealership.

never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to meet such an amazing/gifted professional auto dealer sales person by the name od Joe R. at HB Mazda. I was truly surprised to find "honest Joe so easy to talk with/give me factual advice/listen Patiently to all my questions and answer them using common language. as it eventually turned out I must say that Joe R. is the sole reason that I now proudly drive a beautiful 2015 Red Mazda with Black Interior. For most of my professional life I dealt with a wide variety of auto car salespersons and was pleasantly surprised to find someone who adheres to the accepted Code of Ethics and possesses a high degree of integrity/courtesy and expert knowledge-and, yes even a sense of humor. And I must add his realistic pledge for 100 % customer satisfaction. Finally his genuine/time sensitive willingness to answer all the many questions that I had as I get used to driving my new Mazda Les H Cohen Legislative Advocate Emeritus/OC Ombudsman

Working with this dealership was a positive experience. Joe R., the Customer Advocate and Internet Fleet Manager, was great to work with. Jake in Finance was also great to work with. They did not use high pressure tactics to close the sale. Furthermore, they hunted the Southland to find the color, interior and trim level of the model vehicle that I wanted, and delivered it as promised.

Just purchased my first Mazda CX-5. I visited 3 different dealers when researching vehicles, and Huntington Beach Mazda outperformed the others! Warm and welcoming, knowledgable and professional. I wrecked my car a couple weeks back and walked into Mazda just looking for possibly buying a car in the future. As I looked around, i fell in loe with the 2014 mazda3. Thats when I met Joe R. Cant express enough gratitude to this guy. He did not sell me the car as i wanted it already. What he did was be incredibly personable and maybe even more importantly, when buying a car, he was completely upfront with me about any questions that i had. He was a great friend above all else which to me is the perfect salesman.

Please do yourself the favor and save yourself the headache that comes with dealing with anyone else other than Huntington Beach Mazda. First of all Barry R. is the man! He is seriously a joy to work with. (I never thought I would say that about a car salesman!) He is honest and has a moral compass. He went into this business for all the right reasons. His level of customer service has far exceeded any I have experienced. He took us on a nice long route for our test drive including the freeway - for the first time I felt like I could actually get to know the car because he is so knowledgeable and patient. He took the time to test the Bluetooth connection and all the ins and outs of the car. He also stayed past closing time to ensure we had everything we needed, never once rushing us. Why this dealership rocks: 1. They honored my TrueCar quote. No other dealership would agree to this. They all had lame reasons why "it is just not possible". Thank you HB Mazda for understanding the customers need to utilize this tool! 2. They went above and beyond. I am looking for a specific car that's in high demand. I have been getting the run around from other dealerships saying that that car is just not out there and trying to get me to settle on something - this is a huge commitment - you should be getting what you're looking for! Huntington Beach Mazda understands this. Joe R. and Berry R. went above and beyond by finding several cars that fit the criteria at other locations and got my "unicorn" to their lot for me. Barry also went all the way to Bakersfield to trade a car for another customer (I am not kidding when I say they go above and beyond!). 3. They have Barry! 4. They also have an awesome deal with 2 free oil changes, 2 free car washes, and a 1-year free parking pass for Huntington Beach. Sweet! 5. They have been awarded one of the best places to work in OC for many years running now. THIS IS HUGE! If you have happy employees you have happy customers - it's as simple as that! 6. The entire process was so painless. They never try and force add ons that you don't need (That every single other dealership has tried to do). So refreshing! Okay - I am done gushing. But I mean every word. Please give them a shot at getting you into your new Mazda. You will not regret it!

My wife and I bought a 2014 Mazda CX-9 from Joe B and Joe R recently at HB Mazda. Everyone at the dealership is so friendly and helpful, we felt like family, and honestly, we felt like they really took the time to get to know us and what we needed in a new car. We shopped around quite a bit and took our time, but the two Joes were professional and patient as we made our decision. We LOVE the car and have to say that we probably love it so much because of the great customer service we were given. This was the experience we hoped we would find, and I am thrilled to recommend HB Mazda!

Exceptional sales service

Mike N. of HB Mazda gave me exceptional sales service. He was gracious to explain the details and distinctions of the car I wanted to buy (MX-5 Miata). I was zealous to leave with my new toy, but he made sure I knew enough to enjoy it without reference to the phone-book thick owners manual. I had a fair value from a buying service which was accepted without hassle. Jake K. in Finance was good to up-sell the warranty services but only what I needed. Chris M. in the service department was pro-active to find an opportunity to install the Low-Jack product I bought. Everything about the experience was good. Only later I found how socially conscious Mr. P. is ( dealership owner). He and his employees actively support Second Harvest. That only improved the experience.

It was a great car buying experience and we would definitely recommend Joe and HB Mazda. (matter of fact I just told the teller at my bank about my experience and said that he should go there). Best Car Buying Experience at HB Mazda

I purchased a Mazda 3 iSport from Joe B. and Joe R. in November 2013. I highly recommend going to Huntington Beach Mazda if you are looking to purchase a car. They were both friendly, up front, and helpful. It took me some time to shop around as this was my first car purchase. I had many questions and all of them were answered in a timely fashion. When I chose my car, they didn't have the color in stock, but they had one shipped there for me. When I came in to sign the paperwork for financing, I wasn't too happy with the interest rate. Joe tried his best to come close to the rate I was looking for (based on my credit and what the interest rate was at the time) and we ended up compromising with a decent rate. Additionally, the 2nd day after I took the car home, a pebble hit my bumper. I was so upset and called the dealership. Joe gave me some paint for free to cover up the spot. I did not feel pressured at all throughout the car buying process. If you purchase your car from HB Mazda, you won't be disappointed. I am extremely happy with my experience there and if you want to have a good experience, you should see them as well.

If you don't like car buying because of dodging the stereo-typical car sales person, then come check out the Mazda's with Ed. He is patient, low key and very knowledgeable about his cars and the competition for the model you are looking at. Mazda was the only test drive that let me check out the drive on the freeway!! There was never any pressure to buy and I was encouraged to do my homework with the competitors comparable model. Really, see Ed if you want a wonderful experience!!

I just leased my second Mazda 3 5 Door from Huntington Beach Mazda. I had had an excellent experience with my first lease in 2011, and so I went back when it came time to lease a new car to replace the Mazda coming off lease. My sales person was Jake H. who was very pleasant, well informed about the car and patient. The General Sales Manager of the dealership, Jim H., was personally involved in the sale and was also great to work with. All the personnel I dealt with were exceptionally pleasant and very focused on making this customer happy. I have owned or leased cars for the last 51 years and have had numerous Mercedes, Porches, Lexus (Kexi?)and BMWs and so have had extensive experience with high-end dealerships. My two experiences with Huntington Beach Mazda tops them all. Highly Recommended!!
