I just wanted to say thank you to everyone at East County Preowned . After searching all over San Diego I found the truck I was looking for. The price was right and financing wasn't hard to obtain, thanks to Mr. Chuck Herman who streamlined signing all the documents and got me into my new truck as fast as possible. East County Preowned I will recommend to all my friends and family . Very pleased with their efforts to get me the best deal possible.

DO NOT PURCHASE HERE!

by Distressed on 06/28/2017

Hi, I purchased a used car on April 1st, 2017. I did purchase the extended warranty bumper to bumper. At the time of purchase they did tell me two things, 1) it was purchased @ an auction, 2) it did have 1 recall for an airbag. Since the purchase, I have taken it in for Excessive engine oil consumption which was repaired. One item was covered under the warranty and 1 item I paid for. I then received a notification from the dealer that it needs the following: Left Valve Cover / Engine Oil Pan Deflector / Pistons and Rings This morning the "Check Suspension" light turned on. I traded in a VERY decent car with NO problems for this car. The only reason i traded was because I needed a larger vehicle and they had what I liked with the lowest miles! I feel this vehicle was parked for a long time and now that its running it has lots of problems. When I called the Store it took a couple a days for them to return my call. All they told me was to take it in to "their" mechanics. I live 2 Hours away, so i asked if they would give me a loaner, they could not confirm that was possible. When the day came, the car stalled I had to have it towed to dealership, where it cost me $384.45 to repair. It also has a $900 Airbag issue. HUGE safety issue. Do not believe what they say, they don't stand by there vehicles, do not even stop by, save yourself! I do not want to deal with this dealership! Going to Arbitration.

Get YOUR OWN Inspection

by Getinspectionoryourscrewed on 05/24/2017

We thought this was a great, but little did we know the car was sold to us unsafe. We bought our vehicle 02/19/17 at their Big Tent Sale, & at first we were very happy. The salesman was very nice & I really did feel that they did everything that they could for us...until...the vehicle started having issues. First is was the battery at the beginning of May. We were going to give them that as you could tell it was the original battery & it is what it is on that. Second was I started to hear a noise off & on for a day. By the next day I the vehicle was making the noise every time I would use the brake. So I drove directly to a shop (because I'm thinking brakes) & sure enough the back brakes & rotors need to be replaced. We weren't very happy to find out that on the extended warranty brakes are of course not covered & we are over our 30 days/1000 mile limited warranty. At this point we aren't happy!!! The following week the vehicle would have a surge of power while idling, & then shut off on me. After that we noticed that the brakes seemed to not what to stop. Diagnosis of master cylinder leaking on the power booster, causing the surge & the loss of brakes. When we contacted the dealership we were told to discuss with the service department manager Carlos. He was no help!!! We tried to explain that there was no way to need rear brakes & rotors after two months of driving...there was no way that there was the appropriate level of brake pad at the initial inspection/sale of the vehicle. According to him if we were over the 30 days/1000 miles we were on our own. We then spoke to a sales associate who told us that we should've called there service department when this was happening. We told them we didn't know that they had a service department since we had bought the vehicle at the tent sale. He told us that if we already had the work done he didn't see what they could do...even if we talked to the General Manager. We are still going to try, BUT as mentioned have your vehicle inspected by someone else these guys are taking advantage of people & selling unsafe vehicles.

East county pre owned superstore dealership experience

by Get_it_right on 02/04/2016

I spoke with Chico Gutierrez on the phone and made it specific on my offer for a vehicle. He quoted me a price and I ask if he can check with his managers if they were able to do the price I offer. He told me that it sounds fair but anything below the price he mentioned will have to be talk to in person. I ask again, would there be a possibility that they will accept my offer, he said, there is a possibility but my presence will have a difference because I’m there physically. When I got there I was met by another person and there is no parking spot, I have to find it myself and I have to find where Chico is or who he is. I ask one of the workers and he called him for me. I met Chico outside one of the big building and we shook hand and I immediately mention about my offer, he kept dragging the subject stating that I have to see the car and see if I like it. Here comes the kicker “ Bait and Switch”, I ask for a Chevy Volt Premium and he showed me a Chevy Volt Base pretending that it was the one I ask for, they think of me as stupid the whole time I’m there, full 3 ½ hour of time wasted. I know that Bait and Switch is against California law and that practice is prohibited, I will make sure I file a complaint on this. This doesn’t end here, Chico was talking to me about this weird law that wasn’t even a part of car buying and he mention that it is in effect to make sure that I’m not a TERRORIST. For me, this is a very bad sales practice, one after another. After having a long conversation with Chico, there is this manager that step in Mike or Mark, I don’t exactly remember his name. He was doing his thing of forcing me to pay more for the car, which I already said and emphasize the amount I’m willing to pay. I also told them that I have wasted 3 hours already just waiting if they will accept my offer that started on the phone conversation, and that if they don’t really wanted to accept it, they should have told me on the phone rather than WASTING 3 HOURS and more for this thing. Then this Mike/Mark look at me in the eye and point at the paper where they wrote my offer and said “This offer is stupid”, WTF, he basically told me that I am stupid for making the offer. That did it. I stood up and told them that this is a bad business and this business has a bad practice, I told them that if they would have told me that they cannot accept my offer, I would have move on to another dealership and not waste my time there. 3 HOURS, I could have made that productive and visit a couple more dealership, 3 HOURS wasted that I cannot get back, 3 HOURS of frustration. Lastly, they mention that they would have to call the owner to get approval even for the price that they wanted, I said “call the owner and I will speak to him about my experience so far”, I get a blank look. I left the building and this Mike/Mark followed me outside and telling me that what I’ve offered was [non-permissible content removed] and it’s not worth making a deal, so why did he follow me all the way to my car for? He even told me that he will show me their cost, really? He wanted me to believe that after all the lies that they have shown so far? I told Mike/Mark that they should change their way because I will be posting my experience at their dealership all over the web. In my opinion, they should have taken my offer, it was a fair and reasonable offer, they would have made some money and I get a car.
