Beware - Inflating Repair Cost
Written by 06/23/2009
onIn May 2009, I took my 2005 Chrysler 300 to the Lander McLarty Service department to determine the reason engine light was ON. Service Advisor informed me the EGR Valve needed to be replaced at a cost of $486 and tried to use a known pressure tactic by saying, "we only have 1 part in stock and you should get it done now". Fortunately, I was not able to wait 4 hours therefore I told them I would have to reschedule to a better time. One week later I took the car to the [another dealership] in Athens and they fixed it for $241.73 (Labor: $122.93, Parts: $110.00, and Tax: $8.80). I will never have Lander McLarty Chrysler service my car again.
