There are two versions of the Chrysler Pacifica to consider: a large crossover wagon (sold for the 2004 to 2008 model years) and its new successor, the Pacifica minivan. The minivan is Chrysler's latest people hauler, and a major improvement compared to the vehicle it replaced, the Town & Country. We like the Pacifica minivan. It's handsome-looking, has a well-finished interior, and can be equipped with plenty of the latest technology and safety features. A Pacifica Hybrid is also available if you're interested in maximizing fuel economy.

The original Chrysler Pacifica crossover wagon has four front-hinged doors, an elevated seating position, five- or six-passenger seating, and a choice of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Compared with other crossovers of the time, the Pacifica is relatively upscale and offers a wide array of creature comforts wrapped in elegantly chiseled sheet metal. Unfortunately, the old Pacifica isn't all that roomy considering its size, and early Pacificas suffered from reliability woes and mediocre engines in a price bracket where potent and refined powertrains were the norm.
