2012 Chevrolet Volt 4dr Hatchback (gas/electric hybrid DD)

Review

I love my volt.
Couple of months old.
Car is great.
The issue is service.
Here is a simple issue that the volt team and stingray chevrolet cannot fix.
When you use the bluetooth, as the vehicle increases in speed the road noise above 40 mph with windows up etc. makes it impossible for anyone to hear you.
The bluetooth can't hear anyone over the road noise in the microphone.
It makes it impossible to use.
The volt team cannot find a way to fix this issue.
If service is an issue for you be wary, they can build a great imaginative vehicle but they can't figure out how to fix even simple problems with the car.

2012 Chevrolet Volt 4dr Hatchback (gas/electric hybrid DD)

Review

What a deal-low lease for this fantastic car and I no longer visit the gas station! Somebody needs to get us off the gas pipeline, why not the government. Thanks to lucrative incentives, I drive this car for less than my former gas bill.

Best Features

Acceleration is awesome, no gear shifting no noise, just pull right up to the speed limit. Don't go any faster because OnStar knows everything you are doing in this car.

Worst Features

Interior color scheme is really odd. There is white, silver, black, dull silver. The cloth seats are something out of a 1980's econobox.

2012 Chevrolet Volt 4dr Hatchback (gas/electric hybrid DD)

Review

after 3 months, this car has won me over gas power car or hybrid like Prius. If your average driving a day is 45 miles or less than probably don't need gas for a long time. Plug-in is convenient, clean and fun to drive. I did went over 45 miles trip few times but gas kick in is quiet and still drive like EV car not like Prius. This is the best car plus zero interest on loan. loved it.

Best Features

Real time mileage and instant torque fun to drive, no glare on screen, convenient plug in with 120V at home

Worst Features

car is very quiet so some time noise from tires will be heard if go over rough road, if a little more insulation for road noise than will be perfect.

2012 Chevrolet Volt 4dr Hatchback (gas/electric hybrid DD)

Review

We bought a Volt 2 months ago. If we had stayed around town we would have used no gas. Despite taking several trips over 200 miles to our second home, and multiple long commutes to work out of town, we are averaging 112 MPG, by plugging into 120 v charging at the destination. It beats our Prius for mileage on long trips handily, and rides much smoother. It gets over 40 mpg with the switch to gas Since we have solar the charging is carbon free. Very satisfied so far!

Best Features

Gas mileage, and quiet smooth ride. Also a nice looking car.

Worst Features

The ability to seat three in the back would be nice.

2012 Chevrolet Volt 4dr Hatchback (gas/electric hybrid DD)

Review

Currently at 4500 miles with 14.6 gallons spent. Have not visited the dealer once after buying. Oil life is at 96%. Looks like first maintenance will be after 2-3 years other than the tire rotation. Will buy one more pure EV soon. Bye bye Shell/Chevron/Exxon.

Best Features

No gas bill. Buttery smooth in electric mode. Seamless switching from electric to gas. No range anxiety. Solar panels on roof lets us drive for free. Onstar remote access to vehicle data.

Worst Features

Remove front air dam - only scrapes, no benefit in city mileage. Make it a 5 seater. Increase battery range to 100 miles. Reduce price 10K.
