Overview
The 2027 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a subcompact crossover SUV and one of the most affordable new vehicles on sale today. Chevrolet has a vast SUV lineup, with the Trailblazer on the smaller end, slotting between the bite-sized Trax and spacious Equinox. Despite the Trailblazer's diminutive proportions and low starting price, it's a well-rounded package with lots of available features, in-car tech, and — unlike the Trax — all-wheel drive. We don't expect any major changes for 2027, but the Trailblazer remains a solid all-around extra-small SUV.
Edmunds spotlight: A little bit of this, a little bit of that
While the Trax feels like a hatchback with extra ground clearance, the Trailblazer feels much more in line with Chevrolet's larger, more traditional SUVs. Its sharp design resembles the midsize Blazer and gives the little crossover a lot of personality. A spacious and practical interior means it's practical, too. And with a surprisingly robust tech suite and numerous available active driver aids, the Trailblazer has many of the features found on Chevy's bigger, more expensive models.
Competitors to consider
The Chevy Trailblazer competes in one of the most crowded and competitive segments around, with just about every major automaker offering a subcompact crossover or two. In addition to the Trax, some of Edmunds' favorites include compacts like the Hyundai Kona, Kia Niro, Volkswagen Taos, Buick Encore GX and Honda HR-V. Most of these competitors are newer than the Trailblazer, which is starting to feel a little dated.
