2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS 2WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)

Review

I have driven this vehicle for the
past 2 years and I still love it. The
SUV is fun to drive overall.
Mechanically the SUV has been excellant
and Chevrolet has provided a service
level above my previous experience with
them. Looks like they have finally
come around with providing first class
customer service.

Best Features

Heavy duty towing package standard and great ride with very low highway noise.

Worst Features

Like to see an improvement for the front end exterior design.

2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS 2WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)

Review

Bought the LS in Hunter Green a little
over a year ago. Have had major
problems with the elctronic system on
board. At one point, the dealer had
the car for 3 weeks and had to rent me
a loaner. Radio changes stations all
by itself, A/c quits and starts all by
itself. Gas mileage is aweful. I
have a Tahoe that gets better mileage
than this SUV does 10 mpg city, 16 mpg
highway. Car has spent a total of 6
weeks in the shop and yet GM will not
buy it back as it hasn't been enough
problems to warrant replacement. My
next car will be a Honda. Dealership
was a good as could be expected
dealing with a design error.

Best Features

Room in front for legs, styling okay, lots of pep. Good head room.

Worst Features

Better quality from suppliers on electronic parts. Better gas mileage. Better backing from GM.

Review

Purchased new last July. Great
vehicle so far. Great snow and
offroad performance. I like the engine
and power. Some interior and front end
sqeaks. Air bag light problem
previously reported has gone away.
Getting 15-17 mpg city driving.

Best Features

Engine, Ride, 4X4 performance, Appearance, foldable rear seats.

Worst Features

Vehicle

2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT LT 4WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)

Review

Have had numerous problems with this
SUV. An annoying hum, a squeak in the
front suspension (that took several
trips to the dealer to repair), the
wipers quit working, the A/C quit
working (twice). Seems like this
vehicle has been in the shop more than
in my garage. Build quality is poor
for a $36,000 vehicle.

Best Features

The ride is very comfortable. Access to the 3rd row seat is great.

Worst Features

Quit trying to put too many bells and whistles on these cars and just concentrate on getting the basics to work right. A new car should not be in the shop 12+ times in the first year of ownership.
