2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV LTZ 4WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)
TrailBlazer has solid feel, good
power, comfortable. Gas mileage not
what I had hoped. Started at 13mpg in
town. I can now coax 16mpg on average
in town. Highway mileage averages
The TrailBlazer trouble free up until
I took an 1100 mile trip. It developed
a high pitch squeal, turned out to be
seals in the transfer case. Then I
developed a bad oil leak. This all
happened with just 28K on vehicle. My
old 4Runner never had these kinds of
problems until I had well over 200K.
For the cost, $30K+ this vehicle
should be trouble free, at least up to
100K. Maybe this is just typical of a
first year design model and I'm just
shaking out the bugs.
Ability to turn features on/off such
as running lights, auto lock, etc.
Oil management system.
Quality improvements on longevity of
the motor design to guard against
things like oil leaks, bad seals, etc.
These problems should not happen at

The first six months were ok, after that
we started having trouble with 4way
falshers coming on when you put on turn
signal, still doing after 2years, have
had in back to garage 3 times for
transmission problem, it acts like it is
slipping you step on the gas and the
engine rpm goes way up but you do not go
anywhere. Alot of wind noise.
It does ride nice, is roomy .
Improve transmission, gas mileage, wind
noies is terrible, could be quiter inside.

2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUV EXT LT 4WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)
We wanted to find a reasonably priced
SUV before we started our family. The
Trailblazer gave us practically
everything we wanted. The ride is nice,
it has nice power and towing capacity.
The fold down seats have been great, we
have been able to get a new leather
furniture set in the SUV, and only had
to tie down the gate for the long
couch. Only complaint is that there do
seem to be some minor problems. Our gas
tank had a leak, the rear AC stopped
working this summer, and the battery
would completely drain in the winter
when the truck was not started for a
few days. If Chevy could work out these
little problems, the truck would be a
3rd row seats are comfortable for
adults. Excellent capacity in the
interior. All the power outlets in
various areas of the car.
Make vehicle more reliable. We've had
to go to the dealership for repairs
several times in the first year as
noted above for the gas tank, battery,
and the rear AC.
