In April 2023 I purchased a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LS 3.0 Diesel. While returning to KY from a family vacation in July 2023 in Virginia, the check engine light came on with 4000 miles on the odometer and the Tahoe went into limp mode in Virginia. I limped it to the next exit where I disconnected the battery and cleared the code. I drove the Tahoe into West Virginia where the check engine light came again and the Tahoe went into limp mode leaving me on the shoulder of Interstate 64 with my family. I again disconnected the battery and cleared the code, which made it possible to drive to Grayson, KY where the check engine light came on again putting the Tahoe into limp mode. I was unable to clear the code again and was forced to contact Chevrolet Roadside Assistance. Tom Hall Towing quickly responded and towed the Tahoe to Pure Country Chevrolet, which is 2 1/2 hours from my home. A family member was travelling behind me and was able to drive my family home. I contacted Pure Country Chevrolet the next day and was informed they had already diagnosed the problem and were waiting for the part to arrive. Pure Country Chevrolet, who was excellent to deal with through this incident stated the part failure was a the oil pressure sensor solenoid. When the repairs were completed to the Tahoe, I contacted Chevrolet and was informed they could have the Tahoe delivered to my home. The United Road Inc. delivery driver was supposed to contact me when he was within 1 hour of my home, which he failed to do requiring me to contact my wife to accept the vehicle. The delivery driver did not speak English and after unloading the Tahoe from a utility trailer being towed by a 20 year old half ton pick up truck, he gestured to my wife to electronically sign for the vehicle. When I arrived home, I immediately discovered a large dent in the from drivers fender. United Road Inc. denied my claim because their non English speaking driver had received a signature for vehicle. I contacted Pure Country Chevrolet and they stepped up even though it was unclear who was responsible for the damage. A PDR Technician was able to work the dent out without damage to the pant and Pure Country Chevrolet reimbursed me $331.25. Pure Country Chevrolet provided me with great customer service through the entire process. I have driven GM Vehicles my entire life and am truly disappointed with horror stories about their lack of quality in new vehicles. These companies blame Covid and supply chain problems for lack of quality, but I own 2 vehicles of a different brand that were purchased during the Covid and have had zero issues with them.

2023 Chevy Disappointment!!

Very Concerned Repeat Customer. I purchased my 2023 Tahoe LT Plus in December 2022 from Crews Chevrolet and it was delivered on January 9th, 2023. Shortly after delivery, I encountered several issues with the vehicle such as radio audio intermittently works , radio randomly reboot on its own , excessive vibiratiin from transmission when slowing down to a stop or acceleration .This literally made me sick to drive it. My concerns were brought to Crews Chevrolet, North Charleston service department to be addressed and all I received was the run around/blank statements with no real answers for my concerns (software update, cannot duplicate defect, etc.)! This service and service's explanation is unacceptable and unfair to Me & any customer who just spent a huge amount of money for a Brand New vehicle. With absolutely no resolution, I'm very dissatisfied and disappointed with the vehicle and service center, I've decided to trade in the Tahoe after 9k miles. Now I have another 2023 Chevy Tahoe "Premiere" upgrade, from Crews Chevrolet, and spending $7k more than my last purchase- seeking peace of mind and being worry free when taking family trips. While test driving, I heard a rattling noise after hitting a bump and it was advised It was from the matting in the rear cargo area. After getting the car home and personally investigating, the rattling/loose noise is actually the rear passenger captain seat. Also, I discovered the passenger side mirror camera does not work! Here I go again! Keep in mind, I upgraded my 2016 Tahoe LT after 5+ years to 2 Brand New 2023 Tahoes within 6 months with multiple sets of defects! And, ALL of these inconveniences have been inflicted on me-the customer! I have no faith in your service department! Customers' concerns are of Zero importance. I have no more faith in GM quality control! I'm absolutely disgusted & disappointed. Going into the Second Weekend without my vehicle, I stopped by your service center on July 6, 2023, to follow-up with the repair status of my vehicle because I wasn't getting any returned calls from customer care. Regarding fixing the back-seat passenger side seat track, customer care indicated nothing has been done in wait for the vehicle’s 2nd video control module for the defective video camera. I was advised, the second video control module that was installed, didn't work because it was programmed for a different vehicle. As of today, July 7, 2023, the service department has a new replacement on hand for the video camera installation. -Which may or may not resolve the issue plus the seat track has not been addressed. I’ve also been told the service staff is short-staffed due to employees calling out. I understand warranty vehicles don't generate cash flow for the Technicians and the vehicles get pushed aside. So, the customer has no priority. Even proving so, when I track my vehicle’s location, my vehicle has been parked in the same spot since I dropped it off June 28, 2023. Still Really Disappointed! Keep In Mind These Are New 2023 Vehicles 1st New Vehicle Purchase Destroyed

2023 Tahoe & at less than 500 highway miles The infotainment center glitches non stop, I will be driving and it sounds like I ran over something and its under carriage… this is a daily sound and mind you I’m not running over sticks or anything in road it just makes this awful sound as if I did on a daily basis. Driver side back door rattles and shift if I hit any kind of Groove on paved roads. I can little hear it and see it moving. Took to dealership and told it was road specific and everything is within dimensions and nothing they can do about it…I would advise to try something other than Chevy!!!

Fully Regret Buying this vehicle (2023 Tahoe RST)

Nick, 01/22/2024
2023 Chevrolet Tahoe RST 4dr SUV 4WD (5.3L 8cyl 10A)
18 of 20 people found this review helpful

My wife and I just moved back from living abroad for the last seven (7) years. We were both so excited to get back to big vehicles. When we got back, we bought a 2023 Tahoe RST Performance edition. Here is our experience so far and why we whole heartedly regret buying it. To give some details, the vehicle price with features and everything came to just under $80k. The features should provide, maps, sign recognition, voice control, and many other things. I point these items out in particular as these features only work IF you pay the monthly fee for internet for the vehicle. When I asked about price, we were quotes $75 a month for the first 12 months and then I think it went up to $150 after that. You don't spend $80k on a car to have to pay an extra monthly fee for the features you paid for work. This brings us to the fun part. Approximately two (2) months after we owned it, we started hearing some squeaking noises that were not normal for a car with at the time 3k miles. As any good owner would do, we took the car to our local dealership down the road and were told "it's not bad enough for us to do anything yet" and that inspecting the belt "would require the entire front end to be taken off to fully inspect and we don't have time for that." At the time of this inspection, we also advised them of a squeak coming from the back window. A plastic piece was faulty and needed to be replaced. The dealership removed the old plastic part, left it in the back of our car and sent us on our way as it wasn't available yet. Five (5) months later, the vehicle died while we were out running errands. (Fun note, we were rescued by a Ford) As it was late on a Saturday night, we had the vehicle towed to our local dealership. Speaking with them on Monday morning, we are now without a vehicle or any way to get around. Unless you want to pay from your own pocket to rent a Hertz vehicle until the vehicle is fixed and they will "reimburse" you for the value AFTER the diagnosis is completed. This means if they take a few days to get to the vehicle diagnosed, you are out of pocket whatever that cost is. If it takes weeks to fix, again, you are paying it until they can get it fixed. Remember that window part, we still don't have it five (5) months later so I am anticipating its going to take time to fix the vehicle as well. Overall, the vehicle looks great. When it works it does drive well and can be a lot of fun to drive. However, the overall package that you get from Chevrolet is a complete disappointment that will either cost you extra on top of what you paid for the vehicle and let you down when something goes wrong. Once the vehicle is back in our possession, we are going to explore returning under lemon laws and finding a brand that actually cares about their customers.

Purchased in January, great car, great amenities, BUT in March we started getting a shimmy. We took it back to the dealer, they stated that it had something to do with the fuel injection and didn't have the part! It is mid May and we haven't received our Tahoe back, and might be a few more months.

I waited 8mo for my 23 Tahoe Z71 and nothing but problems since I drove it off of lot. Rear camera system malfunctiond at 500 miles. Yet to know when replacement cameras to be sent. Then we noticed defect in passenger rear seat it moves laterally GM doesn't know what to do to fix it. and this morning my cars electrical system malfunctioned couldn't start car and made a click noise and lights wouldn't turn off so battery was at 12%. I had to re-insure my 2010 Volvo because im currently driving that instrad of my new car. I'm very disappointed in GM. I haven't even owned it for 1 mo and it's a complete lemon is my opinion as of now. Time to order a 24 and pray they don't give me a second lemon.

I have had to have my new Tahoe towed twice now to the dealer, once it would not start and all the dash lights were on flashing. The second time it was driving very rough, all the engine dash lights on again. I want to love this car but it is not worth the $72k.

I have never disliked a vehicle as much as the 2023 Tahoe. We traded a 2011 Suburban that in retrospect I should have kept and fixed. Here are my issues: 1. The ride was stiff, worse than 2011 Suburban. 2. Poorly implemented tech. From auto-off to trouble with Apple Car play, tech is a nightmare. 3. Spyware. You call it OnStar, I call it spyware. Read GM's privacy statement you have no rights. Also check out the numerous privacy lawsuits against GM and the New York Times expose'. 4. Poor visibility. Despite having a shorter wheelbase than the 2011 Suburban, the 2023 Tahoe has worse visibility from the driver's seat. 5. No gas cap. Gas prices are skyrocketing and the risk of gas theft returning is a real thing. I want the ability to add an aftermarket lockable gas cap. 6. There is no shifter. It's all buttons which made the vehicle feel like a toy. 7. Weird acceleration when hitting gas. The power band is just wrong. Choppy and wrong. 8. No option to replace the head unit. I hated the "infotainment" system. GM has apparently locked out aftermarket options. You might like. Great. In my opinion, the 2023 represents all that is wrong with GM. Overpriced, poorly implemented, nanny-ware piece of garbage. Update: The Tahoe was such a misery, we sold it back to the dealership at a loss. I cannot tell you how much I recommend avoiding this vehicle. I will never buy a new GM product again, at least not until they radically reform their product line up. April 29, 2025 update: Arkansas is now suing GM for privacy violations. Aside from blatant privacy violations, engine issues and transmission problems, poor visibility and a ride like a stone, what's not to like?

Brand new 2023 Z71 Tahoe. The radio system continuously restarts, half the time the apple car play isn’t an option, the phone moves from vehicle back to personal phone continuously, AC will not work on auto until the fan is manually adjusted. It’s been to the dealership twice for the same issues and IT STILL DOESN’T WORK RIGHT!

We got our 2023 Premier Tahoe in January after having a 2018 Escalade. We love the improvements! Better ride, more quiet than previous generation. 5.3L engine with 10 speed transmission is that much different for us than 6.2L in Escalade and you can use regular unleaded. At 4K miles, no issues. Love the Empire Beige Metallic exterior and maple brown interior. Has a ton of room with all seats down. More leg room in 3rd row than previous generation as well as more room behind 3rd row. Gas milage improving as we break it in. Can get 20 mpg+ on hi-way with flat terrain and no severe headwind. Not as loaded as we would like due to chip shortages. Miss rear view camera, surround HD camera. Adaptive Cruise, and heads up display. Will likely get a 2024 High Country next year. Technology is nice. We have no problems using controls like some reviewers complain about. We will service at our local dealership exactly like GM recommends like we have always done with past full size GM SUVs (#4 for us) and will should have no issues which has been our experience with all our full size GM SUVs and pickups we have owned. UPDATE: We have 10,000 miles on our 2023 Tahoe Premier. We have had no issues! Just completed a 3250 mile trip from Texas panhandle to Montana and back and averaged 20 MPG for entire trip! This included 80 MPH interstate driving, stop and go traffic 3 days in Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. We drove through torrential rainfall, bad roads, over 11,000 foot mountain passes in fog and snow and our Tahoe performed great. We had 7 adults in it for two 12 hours days in Yellowstone and everyone was comfortable. We still had room behind 3rd row for ice chests, picnic items, and rain gear! The room in it is absolutely amazing. The full size sunroof gave everyone a great view and we could open up sunroof and stand up to take pictures of wildlife like a vehicle used in African safari! 5.3L engine and 10 speed automatic performed above my expectations. The 4WD worked to perfection will take you places 2WD won’t! The ride was so smooth! The new independent suspension in 5th Gen Tahoe is incredible and 3rd row room is so improved over 4th generation Tahoe. The seats are the most comfortable I’ve ever had in any vehicle and we had no issues on 12 hour drive days! We had an emergency braking on a wet interstate at 80 mph due to a vehicle in front of us stopping suddenly for a dog. Automatic collision system, Stabilitrack, and anti lock breaks worked flawlessly and stopped us in 3-4 seconds and we never swerved and stayed straight in our lane. Rain sense wipers worked in light to heavy rain flawlessly. Climate system kept us comfortable from temperature ranges of 37F to 90F on trip. This is a better vehicle than our 2018 Escalade! We will buy another Tahoe and plan to get a loaded High Country in 2024! I don’t care what others say. This is a great vehicle if you want to haul a lot of people or cargo and you want a comfortable vehicle with latest technology.

Tahoe Silver!

I wanted a big SUV, but not a bus, so the Tahoe was compared to the Expedition, with the Tahoe being chosen for ride quality and features. My wife and I live in the Appalachians, so we had to have four, or all-wheel drive and the Tahoe has selective four wheel drive that is switchable at speed (they say). We drove it in town and on the highway while doing our test drive and have not owned a quieter vehicle. This one had all the features we wanted and more, so we did not bother to drive an Expedition. The Edmunds reviewer stated that the seats were not comfortable but we found them to be nice and comfortable. And heated! We drove it on a short trip out of town and I found it to be very nice in all respects. We use our SUV as a transport for our dogs to the vet and the seats all fold electrically, so that is very convenient. We have left the third row folded and placed blankets in the rear area for them to lay on and they have lots of room. There is plenty of leg room in the second row for the occasional passenger we may have with us. We are retired and our kids are out on their own, so we, and our Boxers find the Tahoe to be exactly what we wanted, moving up from a Toyota 4Runner. Night and Day. This Tahoe has the large sun roof, 360 camera, Bose sound system, power everything, super smooth and quiet ride and space. We hope the reliability proves to be satisfactory in the long run, because we will probably own this until the 12th of never.

Having owned many vehicles during my time, this baby is one of the most enjoyable to own. My truck is a 2023 Tahoe Premier with the 6.2L V8. I owned a GMC Suburban some years ago and while that vehicle was great, the 2023 Tahoe is a big step up. Of course, I love the power of the 6.2L V8, but the things I noticed immediately were the new rear independent suspension and the magnetic ride control that features on the Premier and High Country. The Tahoe is very quiet and ultra smooth over most surfaces. The materials are mostly soft-feel and unlike Edmunds, I find the seats extremely comfortable and supportive. Space is enormous and the power folding 2nd and 3rd row seats are as good as, if not better than other vehicles in the category. I used to find my Suburban a little challenging to park, but the Tahoe is way easier. Overall, a really superb vehicle and having tested others, I would say it is best in its class. Note, the review's model options do not include the Premier with 6.2L, so I selected the High Country model, which is near enough.

I have had a 2022 and 2023 Tahoe premier; phone disconnects and no maps. Dealer has no idea what's wrong and the Service Manager sat with me for an hour. no info on what's wrong all the while paying for on star, I never had chevy before nobody has a clue. you pay top price for unusable items can't pair phone and the Icon for android connect does not even show up on screen anymore. It's a shame I love the vehicle but won't buy another chevy.

Had a '24 Yukon on order.. and this left over 23 hit the market.. ended up $2k less than a '24 and $4k off the list of $70k. It was discounted about four hours before i bought it. These are hot items. This is my second (2005 Yukon) big GM SUV.. Our JGC was just so slow with three or four people in it.. it is nice to be back in a V8. Seats are 20" and my 150 has 21" seats.. So front seats are not bad.. but exceeded by Ford's main offering. I'd say the 150 is an 8 hour seat and Tahoe about 6 hours. Notable highs: Headlights now ready for night driving. Very decent.. better than 150 LEDs. The Tahoe tail lights are incandescent. which i think is a problem on a $70k machine. XM radio.. has a better codec than the ford sirius version.. the Tahoe bose system is really acceptable. i have the LT with the roof and power tilt adders. The 5.3 sounds like a sewing machine and with the 10 sp auto.. is really a decent power train. WAY better than the grand cherokee. If you can find one for $5k less than the list.. take it. These are high priced and getting one (i spent $66.1k) much less than list will take a lot of watching and waiting. i have looked for 3 months or so. So far about 1100 miles and 20 mpg. Total Comfort. or close enough to it for me.

Have had vehicle 10 months 7500 miles, spent past 35 years in company truck, usually ford f150 lariat. GM products new to me, would have bought the expedition king ranch but I just don't like the exterior lines. The ride on tahoe is great, only big complaint is the cheap plastic on interior and the goofy pushbutton transmission. No issues so far...

Although I am pleased with the High Country, I am a formal Tahoe owner and do to the high Country supposedly the top of the Tahoe chain I thought it came equipped with every feature however I wasn't told the automatic running boards was not standard which was also a feature I would love to have had the option on considering how much I paid. Be sure to question your salesperson about anything that is important to you, I didn't know I needed to because you would think everything available would be in this vehicle at this price point. But so far very please and may have the running boards added.

Tahoe Z71, what an awesome Christmas present!

After our 2020 Telluride started dying in the middle of intersections and jerking whenever we accelerated, and the dealership couldn't figure out what was going on, we decided to move on from KIA. Needed a large vehicle, wife said hell no on a minivan, so we started considering a Tahoe. Loved the non-chrome look of the 2023 Z71 package. Found a handsome metallic gray model, and we absolutely LOVE it. 1,800 miles so far and the only complaint is the gas mileage but we knew that before we made the deal. Not a fan of EV's, the rumble of the big V-8 is priceless, I'm old school, my first car had a 351 Windsor 4 barrel carb. The Tahoe, which we have named The Beast is much easier to drive than I expected; and park, thanks to the sophisticated camera system. Very smooth and quiet ride even when driving over Denver's giant potholes. The Bose stereo rocks AC/DC like it should sound at a concert. Most incredible vehicle we've ever owned, I would rate it 5 stars. Just put Blizzaks on all 4 wheels, ready for another Colorado winter.

Totally Awesome ! Love every thing about this High Country. Fit,finish, ride everything about it is the best yet. Had Silverado’s, Avalaches and a 2015 Tahoe LTZ. This one tops them all.
