Extremely happy with the 2022 Tahoe, we needed something with enough room to fit our two giant dogs (mastiff type breeds) with the tahoe we have enough room to keep the dogs behind the second row and still have room for 5 people! Unlike our current 2003 Nissan pathfinder. We originally wanted to test drive a new traverse but they are too small, we would need to fold down some second row seats. It seems that a lot of the competition are going with turbocharged 4 cylinder engines that are pushed to the limit of their capabilities via direct fuel injection. With big heavy SUVs I would be worried about the longevity of the engine and turbo system. I intend to keep this vehicle for a very long time. A naturally aspirated V8 on the other hand is just plodding along at a nice low rumble, plenty of power when you need it. In fact the GM cars have a variable cylinder shut down sequence that will shut down 4 cylinders during prolonged highway driving. Meaning that from an MPG point of view the Tahoe is around the same as a Toyota 4Runner, which is significantly smaller on the inside and a much lower towing capacity. Ultimately I chose to go with the Chevrolet for the above reasons along with plenty of standard features and excellent financing. in the end it was between the Tahoe and the grand Cherokee L. We couldn’t find any to test drive right now and the showroom models left us doubting if there would be enough room for the giant dogs. The ride is very smooth and the handling is excellent for a truck sized SUV. The styling is fantastic and it turns heads everywhere it goes. I couldn’t care less about infotainment systems and have always driven older cars. This is perfectly fine it has all the features I could ever need. The new gear selection system takes minutes to get used to and frees up a lot of room in the cabin. I would strongly recommend the Tahoe to anyone looking for a huge SUV. I would recommend it over the expedition because they are now going with a turbocharged v6. (Again longevity) I would also recommend it over the armada which is plagued with issues, at least until the next model generation of the Armada. Go give it a test drive this might be the perfect SUV that you never considered!

Purchased new 2022 Tahoe…after 3 weeks, 1300 miles would not start and electronics acting crazy (lights flashing, windshield wipers operating) on its own. Called Chevy roadside assistance and that was a waste of time. Called salesperson asking for help and he said he would see what he could do but he never called back. After 8 hours i finally called for tow myself and got it to dealership. Checking it out now but they have no loaner should have figured that. Once they sell them you're on your own…

Upgraded from a 21 Tahoe

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe RST 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 10A)

With the crazy pricing for used vehicles we upgraded our 21 RST to a ‘22. Overall cost was just a few thousand bucks to essentially take 17k miles off the odometer. I liked the previous model interface and haven’t gotten used to the new Google based version. Otherwise the vehicles are nearly identical. I admit I was nervous especially with all the reports of power train failures. Our 21 was flawless after 17k miles and our new 22 is just the same, although I just cracked 1000 miles so time will tell! Otherwise my review I wrote for my 21 is unchanged. Love the new updates over the 20 ( or in my case, the ‘18 I traded in last year). Better ride, more rear room, quiet and comfy interior. Still don’t understand the lack of fog lights and some interior cheap plastic. Still, we bought it knowing what we were buying and remain happy with the RST….quite the intimidator on the road with those 22” wheels!

The air suspension went out at 1200 miles. GM doesn't have the parts to repair the issue. I would not buy one. I like my old 2014 Tahoe better than this piece.

I picked up a brand new 2022 Tahoe Premier on Monday. On Tuesday I had to take it back for service. The infotainment system does not work! This apparently is a known issue, but as of today there is no fix. Aside from the infotainment system not working we really love the suv. Lots of room, rides nice, good power. Not sure this affects all models, but make sure you check it out before you buy.

We recently traveled from California to Oklahoma in our 2022 Tahoe Z71 and it performed like a champ! We enjoyed the entertainment/infotainment system as well as the power on the road to comfortably get us to our destination. Coming from someone who doesn't like long road trips, I truly enjoyed traveling in our new Z71.

In July this year, I traded my 2020 Silverado for a 2022 Tahoe. After my first 200 miles the engine light came on. As it turns out the Transmission Control Module and a park lock valve solenoid actuator were the problem and needed to be replaced. It took the dealership over 3 weeks to get the parts and perform the repair. At this price point I expect a more reliable product. I have had good luck with my previous GM vehicles so hopefully this was a fluke.

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Diesel 4WD SUV purchased in May 2022 with 20 miles on it. It's November 2022, 6K miles, and my Tahoe has been in the shop twice already with a mangled serpentine belt (the first time on 10/26/22. 2nd the time on 11/19/22. Appx. 300 miles between visits). The Dealership has it right now. By the sounds (how I understood the mechanic and manager), they have no idea what is causing this, and they need to take the whole system apart. They will have my Tahoe for over a week. The best part is, when the serpentine belt finally fails, there was no warning. The Tahoe just threw up warning lights/ messages and shut off. This is funny, considering all the messages and lights that go off for no reason typically. (keep reading) Electrical system issues from all the dash warning lights and dash messages have been constantly ongoing. Even when the Tahoe is not moving, brought to Dealers twice just for this, Dealer can't find any reason for it. The issue seems to be fixed for 10 miles and starts all over again. At one point, the reduce speed warning message came on, and all the lights indicated traffic coming at/around me. I was in an empty parking lot, PARKED! The radio liked to abruptly go "FULL BLAST." The dealer blamed the OnStar system. I canceled OnStar, and it hasn't happened again. So, I'm not sure what the real story is. I bought the Tahoe as a family Downhill skiing road trip vehicle. But now, I'm afraid to leave the neighborhood with it. I'm trapped with this lemon now, and KBB says it's only worth a $57K trade-in if its fixed correctly finally. Every time I ask at the Chevy dealer I bought it from and the Chevy dealer who is fixing it I get "These things happen".

So far this is the best riding of 3 Tahoes I've owned (knock on wood). Ordered the Premier version rather than the High Country so I could get it with the 5.3L engine and the 20" wheels. Only complaint is that I had to pay the full MSRP but that's life. At least I didn't pay a surcharge.

2022 Chevrolet Tahoe RST 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 10A)

My Tahoe doesnt have all of the bells and whistles of a Cadillac but it has enough to make me love this SUV. The RST has the 6.2l motor and drives like a much smaller vehicle. The seats are very comfortable and even better after a few thousand miles. My wife has been in smaller SUVs such as the Volvo XC90T8, LR discovery, Audi Q7 and others. She was hesitant to get a Tahoe because of its size and now she wont back back to a mid size SUV, says its much easier to drive than she expected.

Nice, but it feels dated

In a vacuum, the Tahoe is a terrific vehicle with a great ride and tons of pulling power. The problem is, it has stiff competition. I just liked the fit, finish, features and ride of the Jeep Wagoneer better. The Tahoe LS is less expensive than the Wagoneer base model. But in an era of $6- a gallon gas, the Wagoneer was heavily discounted. Combining a dealer discount and two rebates, Jeep knocked off $9,000- from the sticker price, which brought down the Wagoneer Series II 2x4 to about $900.00 below the Tahoe. And, the Jeep can tow 10,000 lbs. It was just too hard to pass up. I bought the Jeep.
