Best truck I have owned
It's a great truck, best one I ever owned. I bought it with 150,000 miles, and I currently have almost 201,000 miles on it. I've done routine oil changes, Still runs strong, still have everything stock, besides the alternator , brake lines. Very dependable, never broke down on me. Definatley worth the money.

Like A Rock
I bought this truck brand new and drove it for ten years. I gave it to my son who now drives it to work. It has almost 200,000 miles and has never had any major repairs. I replace rack and pinion steering at 195,000 miles cost $200.00 that's all, not bad.
best buy
I purchase this truck 13 june 2011 with 147 000 km , today we are 27 nov 2013 , with 182 000 . got this from the original owner , he never put a dime in it ( what he said) other than oil the truck yearly . i just replace all the brake line and front brake and rotor . and one front bearing last year , and i still oil the truck yearly , frame and body is in excelent shape , im very sastisfied with this truck , also im running 35 inch tire and lift kit .
good overall truck
My 2000 silverado z71 is a great truck. although lifted and riding on 40's, drives like a champ and meets stock specs with mileage, ride, and interior comfort. although I only do the normal service (oil change), I really hadn't had any problems. Though driving it is a challenge, I believe is a good reliable truck.
Always a Chevy man
I bought my 2000 silverado Z-71 in April of 2009.It had 106,000 on the odometer. It has been a very good truck so far.Gets great gas mileage, very comfortable, great performance, great ride, handles very nice. The body is in perfect shape for the age and miles, interior is spotless, under the hood is very clean. It gets driven every day,30 miles one way to work.Just changed the fuel pressure regulator, only cost $50 and easy to do myself.NO squeaks or rattles inside. Now i have 121,000 on the odometer, and still going strong!!
Great truck
Traded in a 1999 F-150 for my 2000 Chevrolet. Chevrolet has better gas milage, power and comfort. Have 19,000.00 miles, and to this point I have not had it to the dealer for any problems.
Should have been recalled
Had intermittent problems with surge, no codes ever showed up. Emergency brake flaw is a joke, should have been recalled. Since 100k ABS lights come on at odd times, learned of corrosion on wheel sensor. Clutch pedal does not adjust well.
Chevy Junk
When it's cold out, whenever I start my truck, I get a alot of clacking in the engine. It only last for about 5 minutes then goes away. Chevy said it's caused by carbon on the pistons and they won't fix it. They extended my warranty another 25000miles and another year. Drivetrain makes noise. they replaced the timing chain once, it still makes the same noise. Emergency brakes sticks in the cold. They fixed it once, now it won't go down all the way.
Dissatisfaction
Loved my truck until ~45000 miles. Apparently not built like a rock & don't love it anymore. First, replaced fuel pump & then when I went to get my first inspection sticker after the manufacturer's one expired, it failed because of the rear parking brake shoes being worn. Living in Texas, I have never used the parking brake. Chevy customer service said that it was normal wear and tear & not a defect even though there is a bulletin on the problem. Chevy's customer service is terrible so if buying a Chevy, better buy an extended warranty or have deep pockets. After the experience with Chevrolet's customer service, will never buy another GM product.
Top Pick For Me
I have a 2000 silverado and its amazing!! When i saw it, there was no way i was going to let this one slip buy! Now that i have it, i look forward to driving around town and going on trips cause its so fun to drive and its very comfortable and relaxing! Built for reliability and designed for fun and relaxability! You can do just about anything with this truck and as long as you aren't stuppid, it will stay with you for a long long time! I would rather have this truck than a car cause you can work with it and then just turn around and take a vacation!! my opinion, this style truck is were chevrolet got its dependability and its overall good name! Im acking you, go drive one!!! I love it!!!!!
That's what I get for buying American
After plunking down nearly $29,000 for this truck I expected a lot more. I've lost count of how many recalls there have been, and Chevy acts like you're crazy when you tell them there is a problem. The truck sounds like a diesel engine for the first five minutes after you start it, the A/C pump never stops running no matter what you set the controls at, the fuel pump went out (which seems pretty common!), the keyless entry only works about half the time, and the list goes on. This is the first, and definitely the last Chevy I'll ever own.
Best used truck, anywhere, any place!!
I bought this truck used at the local dealer here in town. I originally had an old well used, worn out, '87 Ford Ranger that had 139,000 miles and was rusting, battered, beat up, and not reliable anymore. I discovered the 2000 Chevy 1500 Silverado LS regular cab, off the internet and went to check it out. It's amazing! Simply put. Even though it has 71,000 miles, it is still in incredibly good condition. This truck is built to last and way more rugged than my old Ford Ranger. This truck has the optional 4.8L V8 engine instead of the V6, which gives it a lot more oomph on the road.
2000 Silverado Best Damn Truck ever Made
This is the best looking Truck on the road today. They messed up when they (chevrolet) changed the front grill to what it is today. (man what kind of drugs were they on?) It handles like a dream and looks like one to. I love mine and will not buy anything else!!!!!!!
Great
It was awsome truck to drive I drove 80 miles day up and back to work I have 114,000 miles on the truck and runs like i did when first got it.
2K silverado std cab swb
Lighter than a gmc.
I love my Chevy
i bought my Chevy in May '05 with 125,600 miles on it. It now has 140,000 on it. Let me just start by saying that this is an awesome truck, and I get compliments on it all the time. It might not sound like it after you read this, but it is very reliable. One thing I would say needs to be taken care of is the fuel sending unit. It was done at 110,000 and then I had to do it again at 135,000... not cool. The part alone is $400. One day #1 on my A/C fan stopped working, next day, #2 stopped. so it's Off, or 3, which is too much, such a pain. Power steering pump went the same day as fuel pump #2, at 135K.
Love this truck
This truck has been great! So far, 70,000 trouble free miles. Ride and handling are great for a truck. My only complaint was with the stock tires- it should be illegal to put such poor (traction B) tires on a vehicle this heavy- yes, I rear ended somebody- first time in over 30 yrs of driving. With premium tires truck stops and corners great. I did have to go to aftermarket rims because the stock ones were too skinny.
cheap truck
i bought this truck used and 3 weeks later all the gauges are giving incorrect readings. with a full tank of gas it shows that i am on empty and when starting up the motor after sitting for a few hours the motor knocks and pings as there is no oil going to the motor for a few minutes.this will be my last chevy
Tony
It is a great truck. Well taken care of. Flowmasters were put on.
Chevy Truck-Built to last!
I purchased my truck used as I needed alternate transportation for days when my Harley-Davidson may be a less than intelligent choice. I live in S. Florida and we get plenty of rain, and as they say, when it rains it pours. I have owned my truck for over a year and tire replacement and routine maintenance is all that has been required. I did choose to upgrade the stereo system as I love my tunes. Like my bike, as far as customizing goes all it takes is a vision that fits you and your wallet. I have found that I put more miles on the truck than the bike and I love to ride, but it is a very comfortable in all situations. I could have bought a cheaper truck but I feel you get what you pay for!
Good Purchase
This truck has performed great in the 65,000 miles that I have owned it. I have had to replace two things on this truck so far (excluding brakes, filters, etc.). At 36,000 miles, the rear universal joint went out, but this was most likely due to the fact that I drive on the interstate 80% of the time and run over 90mph nearly all the time, just below the cutoff point on the engine. At 72,000 miles the fuel pump went out. This also may be attributed to my habits, as I usually let the fuel light come on and stay on a while before re-fueling. I've been told this is extremely hard on the fuel pump because it sucks in air. Other than that, no problems.
Reliable Truck
I bought the truck new in 2000. I have had only 1 major problem, differential failed at 47K. Mechanics have informed me the diff is not really engineered well for a truck, more for a car. Fuel economy could have been a lot better. Overall, a good reliable truck. Can easily haul over 2500lbs of rock in bed or tow a 9600lbs trailer (and accelerate uphill). I would buy this again. I wish they would have made my model and year with manual trans.
base model Silverado
Great vehicle for teenagers. Limited passenger space on the regular cab, great visability and large enough to feel safer than a compact vehicle. Plus, a pickup always comes in handy.
2000 SILVERADO
WITH THE RIGHT TIRES IT IS SMOOTH AND ECONOMICAL ON THE HIGHWAY OR SUREFOOTED AND AGILE DEEP OFF ROAD
Great American Made Truck
This has been the best vehicle we've ever owned. It has 160,000 mile on it and nothing has ever been replaced. The power and acceleration are good. Real good gas mileage 14cty 18-23hw. One time we got 24 on a trip. It rides like a Cadillac.
Awesome vehicle
I currently own 2000 z-71. I love the truck, needless to say. It handles excellent offroad, and the 5.3l v8 has plenty of power and torc to get you out of some sticky situations while offroad. I would recommend this vehicle, and although I have not had any problems, I would recommend purchasing the extended warranty. The warranty is not expensive, and if you don't get it you cannot get it when your warranty runs out. good luck.
