2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT2 4dr Crew Cab 4WD 5.8 ft. SB (5.3L 8cyl 4A)

The ride is fairly smooth for a truck with the stiffer Z71 package. Gas mileage is much better than expected. With my tonno cover, I get over 20 mpg on the highway. Acceleration is excellent. The V8 is smooth, strong and responsive. It is very different from the V6 I am used to driving (different in a good way).

Best Features

XM radio, OnStar service, auto climate control. This truck has most of the bells and whistles expect heated memory seats, DVD, or sunroof. I am glad I have the crew cab with the rear truck bed instead of a full size SUV.

Worst Features

The materials in the windshield glass seemed to have been cheapened. I drove an S10 Blazer for years with chips in the window and no cracks. This truck has a stress crack the full lenght of the windshield from just one stone chip.
