2003 Chevrolet S-10 3dr Extended Cab LS ZR2 4WD SB (4.3L 6cyl 5M)

Review

The truck is great Looking and turns
heads. The ZR2 is a great factory off
road package. It has the power, and
the 4.3 runs strong. In my experience
i am very disappointed in the gas
mileage, the EPA estimates arent close
to what i get. I can match the EPA
driving like a grandmother (not
exaggerating) but if you give the gas
more than a touch watchs your fuel
needle. Definatley not for a heavy
foot, although it does have the power
and "get up and go" for passing and
when you need it. The torque is great
and more than the new Colorado. The
tires in later 2003 models were
changed to crappy general ameritracs
rather than the previous BFG AT's. GM
cuts corners

Best Features

The ZR2 package in itself. Looks interior/exterior. Torque. Handling for a raised truck. 4 wheel DISC BRAKES are AWESOME!! G80 Locker. Looks (again). I like the GMC sonoma zr2 looks better.

Worst Features

FIX RECLINER HANDLES!! Interior rattles. HVAC system. CV joints. More responsive/accurate Locking Diff. GM cut a bunch of corners and added costs in 2003 for things that were standard in 2002 models - engine "X" and "W",seats, tires and more, i would suggest a 2002 model. LACK OF AFTE

2003 Chevrolet S-10 3dr Extended Cab LS ZR2 4WD SB (4.3L 6cyl 5M)

Review

The LU3 seems stronger than my 98 LF6
4x4. This truck is absolutly perfectly
designed and it demands respect.I
purchaed it used knowing that it will
be a while until GM makes a small
truck that has that stop and stare
effect. Brakes, drive train, power,
and build quality is Q1. Frist owner
drove it all highway 30K in 15
months. I found two problems after it
was deliverd. Steering box upper seal
weeps and muffler comming apart
inside. Dealer fixed at no charge.
Team Chevolet (GA) has very good and
knowlegable service department.

Best Features

ZR2 drive train is very well thought out from the steering dampner to the Bilsteins. The drive shaft is a work of art. About 8 inches in diameter-all aluminum.

Worst Features

Door (exterior) lower window flashing, engine compartment light.

2003 Chevrolet S-10 3dr Extended Cab LS Rwd SB (2.2L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I have owned this 2003 S-10 for 8
months, I've had it in the service shop
over 9 times... Tranmission shifts
really hard, and big delay when slowing
down, then speeding up.

Best Features

Perfect height.

Worst Features

Better transmission, brakes, audio.

2003 Chevrolet S-10 3dr Extended Cab 4WD SB (4.3L 6cyl 5M)

Review

I tow a 4000lb trailer with this thing
and it tows better then my old F150.
Not a single problem in the year I've
had it.

Best Features

4.3-V6 Wow what a work horse! Auto hubs and push button 4wd.

Worst Features

Better seats. I think that the bucket seats are to soft and no lower back support. Makes it hard to drive for more then a couple of hours without stopping. Should have come prewired for a 7 way plug like the full size trucks do.

2003 Chevrolet S-10 2dr Regular Cab LS Rwd SB (2.2L 4cyl 5M)

Review

the 2.2 engine is torquey but disappears
at highway speeds the interior is cheap
but rugged get up the hill with no
problem with its 4.10 gear ratio awesome
gas milege spotty build qualty but who
cares least it won't rust out that bad
like the old ones do truck built to last
the colorado is to me a glorified s-10
the improvments is nothing to bragg
about when I test drove it

Best Features
