2011 Chevrolet Malibu LT1 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 6A)

Review

The car is great and is very roomy for a sedan. It doesn't get great gas mileage when traveling in the city, but it is comfortable. I wish the A/C vents had a switch to turn them off. A big complaint is that in order to replace the headlights, you need to take it to a dealership or car repair shop, because the whole front bumper needs to be taken off to access the headlights. Other than the dumb design of that, I really love the car!

Be sure to look around any buy the one you want, some Malibus from this generation have different features than others like remote start, sun roof, color options, etc. Be sure to shop around and buy what you want! This car is awesome on long highway trips! Very comfortable and great gas mileage!

Unless you enjoy dropping hundreds-thousands of dollars on repairs every couple of months do not buy this car! As soon as it’s warranty expires it starts falling apart. Not to mention it’s nearly impossible to work on it yourself as GM specially designed it to require special tools and equipment to fix. Even simple problems like a broken speaker turn costly fast. I’ve already replaced the transmission, had to replace all 4 brakes multiple times, had the body control module “repaired” under a recall (which started going bad again a couple years later and no, they won’t fix it again), the cruise control won’t always disengage when you press the brakes (scarey!!!), the brake lights only work sometimes, the speakers only work sometimes, and the list only goes on from there. At this point I am trying to wash my hands of this piece of garbage by selling it and getting a little bit of money back, it’s only been able to go about 1-3 weeks at a before something else brakes so I have to keep sticking money into it so I can even sell it. I am also learning the hard way how fast these cars depreciate. My car is only 6 years old and sold for around $25,000 new and is now worth about $7,000, a little over half of what I paid a few years ago. That’s with only 94,000 miles and no rust, dents, or scratches. I wouldn’t tak another Chevy or even GM vehicle of someone paid me.

Wonky transmission, poor paint quality, and overall drabness drove me to switch to an Asian-made vehicle for the first time in my life.
