This is simply a superb automobile which combines the best in luxury cruising with a sporty ride. The acceleration is simply breathtaking and the handling very competent. The overall quality and fit and finish are easily the best in its class. The powertrain is smooth with an utterly seamless four-speed automatic transmission with nohesitation, unlike certain of the car's Japanese competitors. The Bose audio system is superb. The controls are highly intuitive and ergonomically excellent with large, visible gauges. The Chevy SS is easily the best buy in a sports sedan on the market today. Be sure you check it out before you needlessly spend more on the overpriced competition!
Unparalleled acceleration, supremely quiet interior with essentially no wind noise, superb handling, high-end Bose audio system, comfortable, quality leather seats, highly legible gauge cluster with the ability to use either metric or English units (what other mfr offers this?!), cavernous trunk.
Optional navigation system, ability to further dim the instrument lighting at night, deletion of the juvenile rear spoiler, increased ease of use of the tire pressure monitoring system so that manual adjustment of each tire is not required when calibrating system.
I love this car. Chevrolet did a great job on the upgrade from the 2005 models. Performance and styling compares equal to or better than any simularly classed sedan out there. This is the value sleeper of the class.
This is my first Chevrolet and my first GM product since having complete disappointment in a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am. Chevy has hit the mark with this car. It's fun to drive and very comfortable. The 3.9L engine has plenty of pickup but you lose mpg as a result. Overall, I get about 23 mpg which is still pretty good. The only thing that is annoying is a clicking noise that comes and goes. The service department has not been able to identify where it is coming from.
I have nothing but great things to say about this car. My SS Impala gets great gas mileage, turns heads, and continues to see many compliments on the style of the car. Many mechanics can't believe that a 5.3L V-8 can fit into a car with front wheel drive! It shocks the heck out of them!
The Bose car stereo system is one my favorite features. The system produces clear sound, thumping bass and is comparable with most after-market stereos.
No improvements in my opinion! I can't wait for the 2009 Impala so I can go and buy that!
