2004 Chevrolet Colorado 4dr Extended Cab Z85 LS Rwd SB (2.8L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I'm 20 and this is the first new
vehicle I have owned and I love it, I
have the 5cyl. auto and it gets great
gas milage, no mechanical problems, and
is pretty quick, I love this truck.

Best Features

Pretty powerful 5 cylinder, nice exterior design, good factory sound system

Worst Features

more room in the back seat area in the ext. cab model

2004 Chevrolet Colorado 4dr Extended Cab Z71 4WD SB (2.8L 4cyl 5M)

Review

Drives well. Nimble for it's weight.
Interior is quiet.

Worst Features

Move foot pedals further apart. My size 12 feet interfere with gas to brake and vice versa

2004 Chevrolet Colorado 4dr Crew Cab Z71 LS Base 4WD SB (3.5L 5cyl 4A)

Review

Overall, a good truck if small/mid-
size meets your needs. I downsized
from a Siverado--after the honeymoon
of a new truck wore off, I wished that
I kept the Silverado. For me, the 3.5L
is underpowered. It's great around
town--not pulling a trailer or without
a load. Otherwise, you've got the keep
the RPMs pegged to retain any sense of
power. A lot of plastic
on this truck--it looks great on the
showroom floor but quickly dulls. The
truck drives good--especially off-
road. However, the 4WD/Z71 suspension
is a little rough and dicey at times
in the urban jungle--probably due to
high center of gravity and short wheel
base. Great sport truck--poor work
truck.

Best Features

It's a great looking truck. The crew cab is very nice and surprisingly roomy. Very fun to drive off-road without a load--just like the original commercial playing tag with the mountain lion.

Worst Features

The engine needs some more ponies. Should have kept all six cylinders like the tahoe which would have boosted to 270HP. Less plastic. Longer bed on the crew cab--at least 6'; longer wheelbase may improve urban jungle driveability. Fuel economy...Silverado matches especially under load.

2004 Chevrolet Colorado 4dr Extended Cab Z71 LS 4WD SB (2.8L 4cyl 5M)

Review

I took my truck from Seattle to So.
Cali. to visit family. Yes I had to
cross the mountains which according to
the gotta have V6 / V8's fans said the
Colorado was very poor on power. I was
more than very pleased to find this
little 5 cyl was truely much more
powerful then I thought. The gas
mileage was also very good on this
long trip averaging for the total trip
mid 22 MPG. Overall comfort was quite
nice considering I was driving a 4WD
truck. The interior is just about the
same as the rest of the trucks out
there, not very exciting. Then for a
few dollars I can have the interior
trim peices painted to brighten things
up.

Best Features

Overal size; The interior is more than ample both head and side by side in front, while the rear seats remain for teens when traveling any real distance. The exterior styling is great. Looks like a real truck.

Worst Features

Interior dash styling. It looks a little plain but then it was on par with the rest of the trucks.

2004 Chevrolet Colorado 4dr Crew Cab Z71 LS Base 4WD SB (3.5L 5cyl 4A)

Review

I was time for a new vehicle and I had
been planning on an S-10 crew cab. I
was very excited to see a replacement
for the S-10 in the very stylish
Colorado. I was extremely pleased at
the reasonable price and variety of
options. The chromatic mirror with
temp and direction made my day.

Best Features

Great design for the 55 degree angle tail gate. It's so simple, why doesn't every truck have this option?
