2027 Chevy Blazer EV SS

You could be forgiven for thinking the 2027 Chevrolet Blazer EV is just an electric version of the gas-powered SUV by the same name, but in reality, it's a completely separate vehicle. Indeed, the Blazer EV is closely related to most of GM's other electric vehicles, including the Chevy Equinox EV. And that's one of the Blazer EV's biggest issues — the Equinox is similar in size and feature content yet cheaper. True, the Blazer EV offers the performance-oriented SS, but its core trim levels are outdone by its own sibling and, just as importantly, most non-Chevrolet rivals. 

The Blazer EV's Edmunds rating of 6.1 puts it well below anything in either of our small or midsize electric SUV rankings. There's not really a way to sugarcoat that. As such, we would sooner recommend the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Tesla Model Y, Kia EV6, Ford Mustang Mach-E and Subaru Trailseeker, just to name the top five. If you're still feeling the Chevy vibe, though, the Equinox EV is a better and more competitive choice that provides strong value. 

Edmunds purchased a Blazer EV shortly after it went on sale as part of our One-Year Road Test fleet. It did not go well. Perhaps many of the issues could be chalked up to early-production teething that wouldn't be present in a 2027 model, but our test vehicle was rife with problems that required innumerable dealer visits. We weren't exactly enamored with many of the Blazer EV's other qualities either.
